anyone ever buy a pc via mail usually buy them at best buy.. how good do they pack them....and if i get an extended war on it do they pay to ship it to them to get it fixed

An extended war would probably be bad for it... that would mean more bullets and explosions than usual. PCs don't hold up well to bullets or explosions.

whats the chance of Newegg having the PS3 bundle? Probably pretty high, right?

(Newegg doesn't charge me tax, but Amazon does..so I'd rather choose Newegg if I could X.X)

I bought my last PC from Newegg several years ago; shipping is fast and the packaging is secure. I don't know anything about extended warranties, though; I've always been told they're a bit of a rip-off.
I don't really NEED a new SSD, but for $50 I suppose my old laptop could use the performance boost :)
I know what you mean. My desktop is fine, but it could use a performance boost! I wonder if they'll limit orders to one per customer. It'd be pretty cool to have a RAID setup with two of those bad boys.

Thanks for posting. I've been hoping that newegg would have the 250GB 360 bundle for $200, and sure enough, there it is. I'm definitely in for that. Now I just hope they have a good Diablo 3 deal.

you are going to have keep checking newegg to see the ps3 bundle deal. They mostly like will have it for $200 sale as well,
where's the games?
Ditto. Newegg normally has pretty good sales on games, so I'm sure they'll put something up.

That's a great price on the Asus N66U router. It's been rated by several publications and websites as one of the very best routers on the market. I bought mine for $150 earlier this year, and it's been such a huge boost to my home network in terms of consistency and range that I don't know how I did without it before.
think they will have a 200+gb ssd for $100-$130 would like to use a ssd as my main drive maybe ill just buy 2 of the 120gb
Wait awhile, it HAS happened. Staples sold a few months back the Sandisk Extreme 240GB for $120.xx. It was somewhat YMMV though, many people got their orders canceled. I was lucky enough to snag one at that price, so I stopped shopping for SSD ever since.
To those of you who have a SSD. Do you notice performance increase in games?
I don't use mine for my console, but from I've heard, no. On certain games you might see it load faster in certain spots, but it's not something you'll be saying WHOATHATSFAST!.

I have 2 of those exact SSDs in Raid 0 used exclusively to install games on. Just make sure you update their firmware and they are real workhorses and blisteringly fast. Been running for a bit longer than a year now for me with no hiccups.

I might get a couple more at that price... I'm sure I can find a use for them...
To those of you who have a SSD. Do you notice performance increase in games?
Yes. Very much so. I can not stand waiting for conventional hard drives to load any more. I have only tested with a PC though, not consoles.

That's an awesome deal! I haven't used my SSD for any serious gaming, but my load time is 7 to 9 seconds. I use my Zenbook Prime for college use, and I love it. More doing, less doing! You definitely want to upgrade to an SSD if you get the chance.
$50 for an SSD!? I'm sold! Those will sell out pretty fast!
Maybe, but they shouldn't. It's an off brand, and only 120GB.

Intel and Micron/Crucial are safe. Samsung probably is too, though their controller is worse at recovering from heavy usage than those guys.

Intel actually uses a Sandforce controller in two of their drive lines, BUT spent an entire year fixing all the problems Sandforce has, so they're supposed to be as reliable as other Intel and Crucial drives (the fixes did NOT get put back in to other companies Sandforce drives.)

On the PC, it's a whole 'nother story. Apps/programs (what do people call it these days?) load up blazingly fast, and I'm not even using it to it's full extent since my 'gaming' rig is starting to show it's age and it's capped at around 250MB/s when I could be getting 500MB/s.

For PC gaming it's amazing, I have mine setup:

SSD: Bootup, Programs, Recording
HDD: Games, Music, etc.

Works well, and I don't have those bad hiccups I used to have at startup when recording PC games because of the initial hard drive spin up.

does anyone know if in the ad for tomorow that the Polk speakers are speakers for a Receiver.. I didnt realize that Newegg sold Speakers..Thanks...

yes those are for a receiver

How are you going to set it up for your laptop? Are you going to install within the enclosure or can you have it externally?
Maybe, but they shouldn't. It's an off brand, and only 120GB.

OCZ is "an off brand" now? Granted, I only know of the brand from system memory (i.e. RAM), but it had a good reputation then. Now that they focus primarily on SSDs, I would *think* that they would have similar quality. Do you have specific reports otherwise?

Just a heads up, there's some issues with those Vertex 3 SSDs due to the SandForce controller. A lot of people get freezes and BSODs.

This for the Xbox 360, and with 3 day free shipping and no tax, this is the best deal I could find for the 250 GB Xbox 360. And since Newegg is pretty much low profile in comparison to Best Buy, it should be no problem getting one (knock on wood, of course).

I have a question about SSDs in general. I have a PC that has a 1TB HDD partitioned with 500GB for games and 500GB for programs and windows. How easy is it to switch to an SSD for those programs and OS? And how would that change my overall system performance?

The perfomance difference will be significant. Figure an average 7200rpm HDD runs at about 100mb/s (more or less depending on where the data is located and its fragmentation), while as that SSD runs at 5x that. So figure you can boot/load everything at about 5x the speed you do right now.
Too bad the TV is a Samsung otherwise I'd be on it.
umm.. what? Did I miss something? Last time i checked Samsung made some pretty decent TV's.
Is that a good deal on the 40 inch samsung? My dad really wants one and this is the first one of that model that I have seen for black friday.
No idea. They dont list model numbers for some reason so you cant really check on it.

You can search it up by item number.

Edit: Looks like the sale is live for both of the samsung hdtvs.

Edit:
r750rd.jpg

I just double checked the email I got and it does say sales could go live earlier. I checked the item numbers on the xbox and ssd drive which are not live yet. If you see something you want, punch in the item number on newegg's website search bar and compare the BF sneak peak AD's prices to see if they are live. As of right now the Samsung HDTVs and that Samsung monitor the sale prices are active.

I have that OCZ hard drive..... Bought it for $120...

My laptop sometimes freezes and completely stops responding.

But overall... it was still worth it because start up times are around 7 seconds.

It IS a problematic SSD. But the price is pretty nice.

I have a great SSD in my laptop, and I'm building a computer this BF, so the plan is to get this cheap one and put it in my laptop so my new build can have the good one. I think it'll work for that, and if it fails, nothing huge will be lost.

Newegg related, has anyone's Wii U Pro Controller shipped yet? It's still in pre-release status it shows for me. Thought the controllers were out everywhere. *shrugs*
