yeah thats why im on the fence about picking up skyrim or keeping an eye out for a boxed version
Errrr...I have $5 GF bucks to burn before it expires, so from the list, I was going to get Civ 5 GOTY. However, of all the games on the list, it seems like this one is Mac only?

EDIT: Looks like only the Mac GOTY is on sale. PC here (http://www.gamefly.com/Download-Sid-Meier's-Civilization-V-Game-of-the-Year-Edition/158240). Lame. Now to figure out what else to buy.
Civ 5 GOTY is a STEAMPLAY title - which mean it supports both Mac and Windows PC.
See that info on its Steam page.

You'd probably just take the key GameFly gives you; activate that key on Steam; and you're good to go.

EDIT:
When dealing w/ Steam-required titles, you want to see THIS symbol to see if your purchase will get you BOTH Windows & Mac PC versions.

Yeah, I bought the Mac version of Gods and Kings on Amazon DD during Black Friday. The code activated on Steam for my PC with no problem.
I'd put PC in the title. Thanks thigh
you know its a wiki post right?

Thanks for the post OP and making it a wiki. As far as I know, the titles switch out every two days and on the final two days of the sale, Gamefly will have every game discounted again.
you know its a wiki post right?
Not that I am taking up for the 'OMG you inconvenienced me by not putting PC in the title and made me waste a click and a whole 2 seconds so I felt the need to complain even though multiple people before me already said the same thing' crowd but I don't think you can edit a thread title in a wiki post on this forum, just the body.

Maybe I'm missing something somewhere and if so someone please let me know but I've never been able to change the title on a wiki'fied thread that I didn't create.

I read somewhere that Lego Lord of the Rings was going to be 75% off sometime before Christmas. Anyone here know if this is true and/or what day this might be?

I believe that's Amazon. I'm not sure when but I remember Tony, from the Amazon thread, stated it would be very cheap soon and before Christmas.

Why isnt anybody posting in this thread? Haha. Mass Effect Trilogy is already 50% off! At only $10/game, I'm pretty tempted. I've beaten all three games but traded them in already. Such a great series.

Individually all 3 games have been cheaper. I know 1 and 2 have been $5 each at times and I think 3 has gone as low as $7.50.

Can anyone recommend civ 5 + gods and kings for $15.49. I'm a noob to the series. I bought civ 4 like 2 years ago and only played it once. I didn't really have patience or desire to learn how to play the game. I'm thinking about giving it another chance since I always hear good things about these games.

I think that $15.50 deal at Get Games Go for the base and expansion is done but Amazon has both in a pack with Civ IV and the Stronghold games for $20. There is also the big Steam winter sale starting in a couple of days and I imagine it will be a daily deal on one of those days.

As for learning Civ V, I'm not an experienced strategy gamer either but I found it easy to learn. I think they really tried to make this one accessible, even more so than the prior games.

In Civ V you get advisors in various aspects of the game like economy and so forth so if you are ever stuck for what to do you can always see what the advisors say. If you get to the point where you don't feel you need it though you don't have to bother with them. It's totally optional.

Yeah I think I'll grab it from the steam sales. Have a ton of GameStop credit to burn on steam cards haha

You can use promo code HOLIDAY20 to get 20% off. Don't see it mentioned. So, Lef4Dead 2 would be 3.99 (and other $5 games). Should I get it? Seems better than the Steam sale.
Picked up walking dead finally for $9.99 after holiday20
I did the same. Played a bit of episode 1 on PS3. Enjoyed it enough to pull the trigger at $10.
Anyone think Left4Dead 2 or Portal 2 will be cheaper than 3.99 each on the Steam sale?
I was contemplating buying Portal 2 also. I own it on PS3 but would like to play through again and have it on PC since I have the original.

If you bought PS3 version you can get PC for free you know that right?

Isn't it a code, so if you buy it used you're out of luck?
