Well, haul #3 from a different store:

The Change-Up Blu combo
Departed steelbook (came in the triple pack I got earlier this week, but man do I love that steelbook, so way I see it..I paid $5 for Aviator and Goodfellas Blu :p )

Added bonus, the girl at the counter gave me back the coupons that were stapled on the trade-in receipt and told me she was giving it back so I could use them again :D

Guess ill have 4, after I trade in my Departed an Change-Up DVDs at the house

I agree with this, and when they made the change, they also grouped DVDs and BluRays together, which also makes it harder to find what you are looking for.

It's good for anime fans, and other genre fans. If i want to see what they got new in anime I dont have to scan the whole blu ray section, I can go and find what I want. That was why i nver shopped at Circuit City because to find what I was interested in that day I would have to sort thru 1000s of titles.

Ugh. I ended up buying the Matrix Steelbook and the Inception Steelbook even though I already own the movies on Bluray. I'm lucky that The Last Samurai and Sucker Punch Steelbook aren't available near me.

Now I have to figure out what to do with my original movies...

Find a place in town that buys back Blus and hope you can get ~$5 each. That's how I am going to do it. Heck, worst case scenario is you paid $20 for four copies of two awesome movies.

Just got home, I was completely unprepared for how bad that would be. Not the experience with the employees, they were cool....it was the shelves. They had been stripped bare, tossed about and discarded on the side of the road like a sex crimes victim. Entire sections were bare, others jammed with movies in the wrong places. This organization of DVD's and Blu's together and then separated by genre is awful. Anyplace there was signage with 9.99 Blu's looked emptier than my soul.

Scrounged about and came out with everything I wanted. Luckily they never update the sticker prices so things that were marked high were plentiful. Inception Blu-ray? All gone. The steelbook edition? 6+ copies. Saw and passed on a few things that I may double back for, luckily I still have a box full of DVD's I don't really want anymore.

Got:
Inception Steelbook
Hangover Steelbook
Shawshank Redemption Steelbook
Zombieland
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
-and as a bonus my GAMER mag came in so I grabbed FF 13-2 for a friends birthday gift later this month. Rang at $40.

Price at register, $90 + tax getting me to around $96+change. -$25 in trade and save, -$20 on the GAMER coupon, and $25 in RZ coupons...grand total of $21.XX. Good day.

Also saw:
Hangover 2 blu
Batman Begins and Dark Knight Steelbooks
Sherlock Holmes 2
Kill Bill 1 and 2 (one last copy, away from displays)

No sign of:
LOTR 1-3 Steelbooks
V for Vendetta Steelbook
The Departed (at all....)
The Matrix (at all....)

Happy Hunting!

Lord Kefka... you're insatiable.

There are 24 in all. Superman Returns and The Departed are the only ones missing from your list.. unless you count the Wrath of the Titans 3D steelbook, but the only difference between this release and the 3D release is that the 3D release says "3D" on the cover of the steelbook.

There are two. The one with the blu + DVD + dc is $34.99. The single disc steelbook version is $9.99. Same cover, but the combo pack has a blu header at the top. $9.99 SKU is 7014192. $34.99 SKU is 5573608.

It is. I bought it today. $5 after coupon.

V for Vendetta and Sucker Punch are $14.99 for the steel book online.

$24.99 for Gran Torino.

$19.99 for Goodfellas.

I can't find the Book of Eli Steelbook.

Absolutely none of the stores around me have any of the mentioned titles, but I have been able to find everything else.

That's funny - if I had known you were looking for it, I would've picked one up for you. I was in a BB a few days ago and they had at least 30 Eli and Inception steels, a few of all of the Batman steels, and a handful of others.

There's two actually.

If it has the digital copy listed on the outside, then its $35. If not, its $10.

I want to get the Die Hard movies, but according to BBY's website they are all out of stock at all of the BBY's near me. Did they go out of print or do they not carry them anymore?

I got the two Titans steels. Figured for $5, even crappy movies are worth the steels.

Was gonna get a couple of the triple packs but I picked up a Creed 3 Limited Edition.

Lol yeah my 2 local stores never got any Eli Steelbooks...I've went everyday for the past 3 days and have been trying to find someone to pick me up one. I think they go off sale the 26th...that's the only thing left I really want.

Uhh.... Well, that Best Buy is way out of my way, but I can go check tomorrow, I suppose. I think they're $9.99 (I have no DVDs to trade).. I'll sell them at cost.. The sb, tax and shipping should make them $15 each.

As of right now, I think I'm getting three or four for the above members? I've been in so many BB's the past week looking for the new RE steel that I forgot which one has the Eli steels.

PM me if you want it for $15 shipped and I'll see what I can do.

The combo pack steelbook is $35 but the single disc steelbook is $10. There are two versions of it same as Wrath of the Titans. The original exclusive version and then the rereleased single disc version.

Is it just me or is getting the coupons at the store a huge hassle? I waited 20 minutes today to finally get them. Customer service clerks knew nothing of the promotion and said it was over. I demanded to speak to a manager and she knew nothing either. Finally I TOLD her what to do. Sad I have to tell the manager how to do her job.

Basically exact opposite for me today. Went to CS the guy there knew of promo but not exact way it worked. A manager-esque guy came over (seen him alot, manager probably) said "he can have the # of movies he brought in, no limits"

Only had 5 on me though :-#

You just have to look through the Sherlock 2 steelbooks, the combo packs are obvious because they are a lot heavier. I am pretty sure the cover art is even the same for some reason. It is stupid I know but that is the way Best Buy did it. The store by me has both steelbooks together on the shelf and picking them up was the only way I could tell them apart. Hopefully that helps somewhat.

Not a problem today, went in and they took my dvd without even looking at it or caring.

Did pick up Paul today for $10. The Vudu code was out dated but oh well. Glad to finally have it for that price. Hopefully I'll pick something up next week if we get a few good drops on other blus'

Granted I only played the demo of Chime, but how the heck do you get shit on by Chime?

I agree with this, and when they made the change, they also grouped DVDs and BluRays together, which also makes it harder to find what you are looking for.

Initially I didn't mind the DVD's and BR's being together but after looking for movies the other day while I was in a hurry it quickly got annoying when, several times, I thought I had found a movie I wanted but it was the DVD, not the BR. Just a big step backward for their merchandising and a big mistake when they're trying to survive against multiple online retailers.

It's good for anime fans, and other genre fans. If i want to see what they got new in anime I dont have to scan the whole blu ray section, I can go and find what I want. Anime is a very small fraction of sales in a vast majority of their stores. In my store at least, before the reset, anime DVD's already had their own section so nothing was gained there.

CC did divide their movies by genre. I'm not sure when you were last in one before they shut down but they were sorted that way for several years.

Now playing (& watching):

:br:-Breaking Bad season 3

:pc:-Marvel Puzzle Quest

I'm using it as an example, but when the anime blu-ray were grouped in with all the rest of the blu-rays it was time consuming to see what BB had. This also hurt the anime companies even to the point where Funimation was releasing their Blu-Rays in DVD cases so they would be put in the regular anime section.

CC did divide their movies by genre. I'm not sure when you were last in one before they shut down but they were sorted that way for several years.

I found it to be a mess for me especially as an anime buyer as the anime was mixed in with the regular titles.

There sections are pretty accurate Avatar is in Sci-fi, Dodgeball is in Comedy. Etc.

Send a note about the expired code to the studio, and sometimes they will send you a new code. I bought Paul a few weeks after the code expired, wrote the studio, and they sent me a new code.
