Indie game development - Power Up (XBLIG / PC)

Jan 29th 2013 saw a particular Kickstarter project spring to life.

Mike Hanson - the one man army from Psychotic Psoftware - launched his
independently developed project, seeking a £5,000 Feb 28th target.

Power Up is a modern retro shmup, looking good for release this year on XBLIG and aims also at the PC platform.
Support is swelling too, with Gamasutra recently taking Mike's dev blog under its wing and promoting title progress as he works.

This caught my eye back in October - last year BCG were lucky enough to quiz Mike about Power Up and run a little interview / preview thing.

Now that's how you do a kickstarter video, honest to the point, shows the game, says what he needs and that's it.

I saw this before and kinda blew it off, but he sold me on it after the video and so he'll get $10 out of me to support him and the game. Go Mike.

Cool stuff, funded at £7,000 - with some change.
Bit of a suprise to learn the last day of Mike's Kickstarter project was his Birthday...

That's one awesome present.
