(OOS) Dead Space 2 (360) @ BB for $7.99 used & MORE
Why are there never any deals on Dead Space 1? I want to play it first, but it never seems to drop belw $20:/
I had Dead Space for PS3 platinumed it, then traded it for a 360 copy so I could 1000 it. I then traded it AGAIN for a PS3 copy for my collection. I then got DS2 on PS3 and plat'd it. Then bought DS2 from Blockbuster for like $6 and 1000/1000 it. Now I am trying to get Dead Space 1 again for the 360 just for collection purposes...So I agree I don't get why it has never been $10 or so.

Dead Space 1 is the classic and started it all. For $20 it may be a bit much but at the same time totally worth it. I actually own the digital copy on XBGoD paying $20 for it.

Dead Space 2 doesn't have many scares compared to the first. Mainly because your already use to a majority of the enemies. The game itself is still very, very good. Not as good as the first IMHO but pretty close. Only thing I disliked was the tacked on multiplayer but It's optional. Totally worth $8 or even $20.

Dead Space 3 so far seems to be getting a bit of unfair backlish from my time spent playing co-op, but I am only in Chapter 10.

I personally prefer DS2 to 1, marginally, because of its bigger scope (and because chapter 10 is one of my all-time favorite levels in any game). But I have a good friend who thinks the opposite, and honestly they're both so good that it's a coin-toss.

I just fired up DS3 last night and played maybe an hour's worth of co-op so I don't have any real opinion of it yet, except to say that it definitely feels different in the beginning at least.

So which would you say is the better version, 360 or PS3? I have both so I wonder which I should get it for.

I have yet to start Dead Space 3 on PS3 so I can only comment on DS1 and 2. I can't really recall any of them being better or worse in terms of performance. But in terms of content go with Dead Space 2 on PS3 since you get an HD version of Extraction on the disc which also has a platinum to obtain if you care.

I prefer them on PS3, but that might just be because that is where I started the series so it feels more at home there for me.

The origin store runs promotions every once in a while but other than that it's not like there's a surplus of this game lying around lol

You're better off just doing what I ended up doing last night: buying it off of PSN for $15 in frustration. It's pretty much damn near impossible to find a brand new copy of the game (the actual physical disc) from any reputable retailer.

edit: i am talking about dead space 1

I'm with ya. Got excited to see The Simpsons Game for so cheap (been meaning to rebuy that at some point, but for some reason it is expensive everywhere). Not available for shipping, unavailable in store everywhere.

I got lucky and I bought both DS1 and DS2 for a total of $25 last year when EA was doing their sale. I beat DS1, and I'll be more than happy to do a gameswap with you sometime. However, since you don't have any Feedback, I'll have to ask that you ship first.

I have them both for PS3.

Strange, I don't recall seeing any of these games during the B2G1 promotion they just did.

The key to getting cheap $20 MSRP games is to buy them during b2g1 or b1g1 40%-50% off. Net price $13.XX, $15 or $16.

Yup. Dead Space 1 is both scarce in supply and the superior game, hence the higher price.

I'm really regretting selling my 360 copy of DS1 a while back. I re bought it for PS3 and have DS2 and DS3 on on PS3 as well. But I love the series so much that I would like to own it on both. I I didn't think it would be so difficult to rebuy. Hopefully Origin will have another half off sale at some point.

I somehow found FO:New Vegas SE at my store for the above price all DLC is on disc so well worth checking at your local stores.

I ebayed a copy for 5-7 took patience but it was a great game for that much.

Tempted to pick up the Simpsons game to keep. Huge Simpsons fan, loved the game, but going to see if it is still the sane price when the B2G1 starts.

It said used, then I changed the title as it was OOS. What difference does it make if it's new or used at that price, anyway?

Cool story bro?

Was checking out the B2G1 sale (that doesn't seem to be working), but stumbled onto Dead Space 2 being back in stock at $7.99. I missed this sale last time.

:360: Dead Space 2 (preowned) 7.99

Also noticed Kingdoms of Amalur under $20. For some reason, its price seemed to hover in the mid twenties forever.

$17.99 :ps3: :360: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Yup. Got DS1 from origin for $8 quite a while ago.

I don't know what everyone here is talking about. I bought my PS3 in the early part Summer of 2011 (my local Wal-Mart somehow screwed up the price and had new PS3's at $200 even). Aside from Mk vs DC, all the games they had in store were overpriced as hell so I did some shopping online over the next 2 weeks to buy all the awesome games I wanted but missed on Wii (blew around $900 if you count the console/extra controller/extended warrenty/games) :whee:

Dead Space was pretty high on that list, and I remember looking it up on several retailer websites. Walmart.com had Dead Space 1 for around $12 or so new, which is where I bought it. Same with both Bioshocks. And IIRC that price was slightly cheaper but still comperable to what a lot of other retailers had it as at that time.

Back on topic, I'm tempted by that $8 Ghostbusters on PS3. I have the Wii version of the game and really didn't care for it, between the scanning, the cartooney graphics, and the stupid "flick the wiimote" minigame everytime you tried to catch a ghost, I was extremely dissapointed in the game. Should I try the game on PS3? Was the scanning crap carried over? And I've never bought a used game from Best Buy before and it's not available in any store near me, so would I be in any danger of getting a game without a case? Or a scratched up game? (yes, PS3 games do scratch up, please don't reply to me trying to tell me they don't)

Thanks op. Ordered DS2.

-Update-
DS2 arrived today. The discs looks like they were played just once. Came with original slipcover but no manual. Disc 1 was in a cd sleeve inside. I'm guessing the original case had proper two-disc storage. For $8 I'm very happy ^^
