Personally, I think the current gen will hang around longer than it has in the past after new consoles debut. Maybe not at B&M retail stores who are pressed for floor space, but I honestly won't be surprised if we see some games released simultaneously on PS3 & 4, Xbox 360 & 720, and WiiU, especially 3rd party stuff. You might not be able to find them at retail, but still available digitally.
I rarely buy retail games digitally unless they're <$20 on Steam. My Vita was an exception, but now I'll probably hold off until I see what the plan is for PSN with regards to the Vita, since it seems that PS4 will have something new.
I have a feeling my journey into PC gaming is coming sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, with the increase in companies releasing, in the very least, ports of console games if not full fledged PC versions, as of late, the desire for PS4 to be close to a gaming PC will facilitate that almost all 3rd party games will become available for PC.
This way, only first party and service-based exclusives will be unavailable to me. I wonder if there's a way to make a PS3 controller work with a gaming PC... (easily)
