FAQ
How are points valued?
1 point = 1 cent. So, 100 points = 1 dollar.

How do I earn points?
For non-cardholders, there are two* main regular ways to earn points. The first is visiting the wheel watcher watcher's club home and correctly guessing the bonus puzzle answer for 10 points. The second way is registering Sony Pictures DVD (30 points) and Blu Ray (45 points) codes. They are 15 and 30 for non-card holders.

If you are a cardholder, you automatically get 1 point for every dollar you spend. You also get 3x points for all dining and movie purchases. You get 5x points for all Sony purchases at Sony Stores, Sony.com and Sony authorized retailers** with the proper submission of a bonus points form.

Playstation card owners do not get the 5x points according to the website, but they do get 10x on PSN purchases.

**See FAQ for list of Sony authorized retailers.

How do I spend points?

If you are not a cardholder, you can only spend points on the sony rewards website from their catalog.

If you are a cardholder, in addition to the above, you can also spend points by shopping at an authorized retailer** with your card and submitting a purchase credit form with a copy of your receipt.

Do My Points Expire?

Yes.

  • If you don't have a Sony Card / PlayStation®Card: You earn Sony Rewards points on a calendar year basis. You can use your points at any time during the year they were earned and also for an additional three-month period in the following year. This means your points from the previous calendar year expire on March 31.
For example, let's say you earn 10,000 Sony Rewards points in 2012. You use 5,000 of your points before the end of December, leaving 5,000 points unused at the start of 2013. You will have until March 31, 2013, to use the remaining 5,000 points that you earned in 2012. And, if you wish, you can combine these points with the points you earn from January to March 2013. At the end of March 2013, your unused Sony Rewards points from 2012 will expire — but any points you have earned in 2013 can still be used throughout the year 2013 and also for an additional three months in 2014.
  • If you have a Sony Card/PlayStation®Card: As a cardmember, your Sony Rewards points will expire 5 years from the end of the month in which they were earned. Points are redeemed on a first in/first out basis.
How many points can I earn in a year?
Outside of the points you earn as a cardholder at 1x/3x/5x on purchases (no limit), you can earn 10 points for each wheel of fortune puzzle for every weekday of the year. There are approximately 260 weekdays every year, which is 260 x 10 points = 2600 points per year,
or about 26 dollars. This takes about 30 seconds each day. This is the minimum without purchases and doesn't count the DVD/Blu Ray or movie promotions like the current evil dead one for 250 points.

Is there a list of authorized retailers?
Yes, see the important links section. All the major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart etc. are authorized.

note: The Sony/Playstation is a credit card and has serious financial implications. Use responsibly.

edit: I will update the daily bonus puzzle if I have proof pepole are using it, otherwise I'll just update the major promotions like the evil dead trailer and any other changes in how they award points.

Updated DVD/Blu-Ray list with 2 per day work-around. There's 3015 ($30.15) in that list alone plus the 500 free points from the two active movie promotions.

It's not the good old jeopardy glory days, but it isn't bad for cardholders.
I'm only getting 30 points for BR discs. I think you've got your facts wrong.
You're either entering DVD codes (30 points) or you're not a card holder.

I just copied that from my earned points page. No I'm not a card holder.

Yeah, the program isn't as good for non card holders (not that it's great to begin with. It used to be awesome.). Your points expire each year, things cost more and some items aren't even available to you.

Anyways you should edit the OP. Let people know they are only getting 10 per DVD and 30 per BR disc for non card members. Just to cause less confusion. Thanks for the list though as I'm entering them daily.

psn cards are cardholder exclusive i think. it shows that way on mine
psn cards are cardholder exclusive i think. it shows that way on mine
That's correct. Sorry for the mistake.

Very nice, concise summary of the current Sony Rewards program. I signed up for a PlayStation card last summer, nice to earn back 10% on PSN purchases, but I wish I signed up years earlier (missed out on a lot of monies to get back as SR points). I also pay my cellphone bill and Internet bill (from my phone company) with my PlayStation credit card, so I get about $6 back every month too (3% back on mobile phone purchases).

One drawback with the program is that you seem to be limited on the number of times you can redeem your SR points for items (I can no longer add $10 PSN codes for checkout, as I've redeemed too many already). Fortunately, you can also redeem SR points for SEN codes too.

Can someone explain how to get 100 points per day? Right now I'm only doing the Wheel of Fortune bonus puzzle and the occasional BR/DVD code (3 max per month). Maybe I'm just misreading the thread title?

Yeah, I would like some clarification about that too. Right now the Wheel of Fortune puzzle gives you 10 SR points per day (so $0.10).

If you are a card member, you can get 45 points per blu ray and 10 points from wheel of fortune. That assumes 2 blu rays per day, which used to get around the 3/month rule. Now it's 3 per day and max 10 per 30 days.

Thanks for putting information on how everything works, but I think we're all confused since the title is a bit misleading. When I saw it, I thought you knew of some other ways to earn points that other people didn't already know. So I think you should change it to say "up" to 100 points per day and not just 100 points per day. Because saying earn 100 points per day means you can consistently earn that much each day, where you can really only earn that much for 5 days max per month (assuming you didn't already register all the blu rays or don't have their credit card). I currently can only earn 50 per week doing wheel of fortune since I pretty much registered all the movies.

Exactly all of this. The thread title implies one can get 100 points per day, every day.

I started entering all of those BR/DVD codes back before I even had a Sony credit card so I missed out on a few points here and there, but I'm more than halfway towards a decent Vita game so this and the previous SR thread has helped me out a bunch.

Ugh...I appreciate all the dvd/blu ray codes, but it only allows you to redeem 3 a month...oh well, I just have to remember to come back every month for my 135 free points... :)

3 a day, 10 per calendar 30 days.

I stand corrected, sir. I was sure I tried the fourth code on the list on a different day then the first three and got the "Oops! You have reached your limit!" message. It works now though. Thanks again!

Yesterday I saw an "IMEI entry" under ways to earn. It's gone now, but I'm guessing you'll be able to register your phone's IMEI for points soon.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I just tried to redeem some points for a $50 Playstation card and it said that I've reached my limit.

Can you only redeem points for 2 codes a year or something?

I think everyone is running into this problem. I haven't redeemed any codes through the Rewards site, only the $50 PSN bonus for the Playstation credit card promo, and I get the error.

I have this problem too with $10 PSN cards, but I have redeemed at least 5 over the past 5 months (adding up a lot of points with my PlayStation credit card). I don't know what the limit is, but you could also try getting SEN codes instead (Sony Entertainment Network)....as they work exactly the same as PSN codes.

This is a bug in their system. I have an open ticket on it. It is supposed to be fixed sometime next month. I'm going to call back for an update toward the end of July.

I find it strange how often these digital codes go out of stock. Both the PSN/SEN card for $10/$20 are out of stock. Looks like I'll be saving up for a $50 PSN code.

I put in a ticket on this as well. Hoping it gets fixed in the next few days so I can cash out my points to get in on some of the PSN summer sales. Fingers crossed.

Added 400 point ticket stub offer for grown ups 2.

Edit: Look for the IMEI registration to go live sometime too. This link www.sonyrewards.com/en/earn/imei_registration/ redirects to the sony rewards homepage. It would give an error if it wasn't a correct link. Good if you plan to get the Xperia Z coming soon to T-mobile (or cough cough use the store model IMEI cough cough)

New game for Elysium. 50 points for playing, 200 points for sharing on facebook (can set visibility to only you).

http://www.itsbetterupthere.com/game/safepassage/

It's running slow since they just put it up. Give it time.
Thanks for the share. Actually, you don't even have to play the game, just click on the SHARE button on the bottom-right to instantly get 50 SR points, then do the Facebook share to get the other 200 SR points (you can easily remove the post from your FB wall seconds later too).

Does anyone know any tricks to get the 200 points for sharing on Facebook? I've shared on Facebook for the last few games I never get that extra 200. I'm using Firefox, should I be using Chrome or IE when playing these games?

I've never had any problems getting the extra 200 points for sharing on Facebook on either Firefox or Chrome. I'd suggest making sure you're signed into Facebook before starting the SR games, so once you're awarded the first 50 points (after signing into your SR account), you'll just click on the blue Share button.

In most cases, once you click on the blue Share button, there will be a popup window that lets you add your comments to the post/share you're about to post onto your Facebook wall. Then just click the post/share button on the popup window to post it to Facebook. The original page (the one talking about the first 50 points) should auto-update saying that you've been awarded an extra 200 points.

One other thing to check would be your pop-up blocker (I know Firefox does this on default sometimes)...make sure the Facebook share popup window isn't getting blocked before you can go through the sharing/posting process.

Thanks for the info. Instead of trying to pin point which add on was causing me not to get the 200 points. I just disabled everything, played and shared and finally got my 200 points. Wish I did this with the other games I played in the past, oh well.

Since Elysium might be a popular viewing choice for this forum, I thought I'd mention I updated the OP with 200 points per ticket stub from the movie (smurfs 2 as well).

For those with points, the Sony Entertainment Network Codes are available (just used towards a $20 code) which will act like a PSN card since those are still out of stock.

first, thank you!

been waiting to redeem a 50 dollar card (had 4500 points) but used your advice and grabbed a 20 and 10 card thru SEN.

Quick question though; it won't let me order more than one (tried to do two 10s or two 20s, but it told me I met the maximum). When does the limit expire? Every week/month or was this a one time dealie?

Thanks again (goes to pre-order Castle of illusion...)
