Anyone ever sell anything to the store chain The Exchange?

I was in there with a friend awhile back and they actually gave her a fair amount for the used DVDs she sold them so I'm going though my old things trying to figure out what to sell them. I have a few questions for anyone who has gone to one of their stores as my cell has been broke for the last few days (hence I'm sorting through things to sell now, don't need the cash, but I've wanted to get rid of some stuff quick anyway) and the nearest one is almost an hour away so I can't just drive up in a minute to see with them.

1. Will they take single disc DVDs without the case? These are the movies, not the bonus feature discs. Some movies I lost the case or whatever but still have the movie and I've put them in paper disc sleeves. I know they don't give much on DVDs with everything but hell I just want rid of these so even if it's a damn dime I'll still give it them.

2. When I was in there, I saw all kinds of other things for sale besides movies, games, and CDs. They had game accessories, action figures, game related toys, posters, etc. I also recall overhearing an employee say on the phone that they take "some" strategy guides. So is it safe to assume they'll take all this stuff if they sell it too (I'm guessing this stuff came from customers selling it) I have a fair bit of that stuff so that's why I'm asking.

I've been to the one in Sandusky, OH several times. I've never sold them DVD's, but I've never seen them display DVD's in paper sleeves or generic cases, so I almost have to assume they require the cases to be included.

I haven't sold to The Exchange in a few years, but I'm pretty sure they don't take disc-only DVDs. They do take other things besides games and movies, but it all depends on what they have already and if it's worth it to them if they take it. The last time I went there, they MAJORLY lowballed me on a box of stuff (I mean insultingly low) and I haven't been back to one since.

I usually take my stuff to CD Warehouse. They're a LOT pickier about condition (scratches, etc) and not taking things if they have too many already, but pay a fair bit more than The Exchange. If neither place takes everything, and you just want it gone, Half Price Books takes just about everything, just don't expect much cash.

Thanks for the info everyone. You guys know of any other places to sell books besides Half Price Books? I have a crapton of hardcovers I want to unload as I have the paperbacks now but I really don't know of too many places that will buy books. There happens to be a Half Price right down the street from the Exchange so I'll likely go there but wasn't sure if there another store chain that I may not have heard of that buys books. I believe Half Price is the only kind of bookstore that buys books in this town so it's them or another place if they take books. Normally I give away my unwanted stuff to friends or donate them but I really could use a little bit of extra cash in this case.

as usual, sp00ge has some very valid points. I will confirm they do not take disc only dvds (or games or cds). and as far as trade ins are concerned, yes on occasion you will get a lowball offer. but from my experience it usually depends on the store and the amount of product they have just received in trade. I have got some really awesome offers, and some really shitty ones. Trade in is 33% more than cash offers btw, so if you have something at a store you want to get keep that in mind.

I can't agree about CD Warehouse, although the last time I was even in one was 8 or 9 years ago. (sp00ge, you go to the one in greensburg ever?) and HPB trades, fugitabootit.

so my advice- just beaware of a lowball offer like sp00ge and I have said. I took a box of things from one exchange because I didn't like the offer and drove to another where the offer was almost double.
