Animal Crossing 3DS XL bundle up for pre-order at GS
is this limited edition?
I hope. That ugly POS needs to come and go quick. I dunno who designs some of these models...but that Luigi one is just as ugly.

Agreed, they put next to no effort into the design, it looks like a design from girls pajamas. Also MSRP for this abomination is not a deal at all.

For the millionth time. Saving $15 bucks for some is a deal.

MSRP would be $199.99 + $34.99.

Im sure the last thread was deleted because it turned into people complaining about colors and how red and blue are "juvenile"

isnt animal crossing 3ds a new release ? saving 15$ off of it like you said is a deal (i know you want more but come on dont be too greedy lol). not to mention this is a limited edition. ugly or not this wont be produced for too long

But there is rarely a month where multiple retailers don't slash the price of the XL down to $179.99 or less, lowering the perceived value of the system, and making this bundle seem like a more expensive proposition by comparison. :p

Why was the other thread deleted, by the way? For the same reasons as the first response in this thread x100?

Yeah, Animal crossing comes out in June.

While you do have a point, like straight said, love it or hate it, it is going to be limited and will be rare pretty quickly.

You save $15 bucks and get a "preloaded" digital game, no game card or case. Lousy "deal" especially when Nintendo's draconian licensing/DRM means you don't own that game if your 3DS is broken, lost, or stolen!

Thats fine and that means it isnt a good deal for you. Does not mean you have the right to say its not a good deal for anyone else.

Even if your against digital copies I'd say this is the game thats best to get digital. Seeing that if your hooked youll be playing about everyday. There will be tons of times you want to hop on for 2 seconds to check/do something. Having to switch out cartridges will get annoying pretty fast.

The bundle is 15 bucks off and may be limited edition. I don't see why this topic is getting is getting bashed.

Already pre-ordered and don't see what's the big deal about the game being a digital copy. So what? This is the perfect game to have as a digital copy like someone else mentioned here and the other thread that got deleted.

Oh, and as far as I'm aware, this is a "deal". Sure, you're not saving $40 like the Pikachu 3DS XL a few weeks ago, but it's a deal nonetheless. :p
Need to bring over the charizard 3DS XL
i can see a black friday bundle with pokemon X and or Y with a charizard 3DS XL coming out

then lots of kids will go "whats that thing" , pointing at charzard

smh kids

Opinions are like a-holes. I can't see buying this and I joked with the GS guy about that this morning.

If you don't feel this is a deal, don't post. Regardless it's a bundle at a MSRP discount.

not really, most people don't place a digital copy at the same value as a physical copy

Preordered this last week or so. Digital copy is well suited for this game (will pick up a physical copy also for collection purpose) and I think this XL looks very cute and again, well suited for this game.

That's cool. Show me where you can get a digital copy of Animal Crossing on release day for $19.99.

Its still a deal. Again, just because its not a good value to you, doesn't mean it isn't for others.

That would be like yelling at people to not post that Bioshock Infinite is on sale for $49.99 because you wouldn't pay that much for it, therefor, its not a deal.

its not a deal if you don't want Animal Crossing, its a deal if it was a physical copy because you could sell it, but with this bundle you're stuck with it

Buying a $220 animal crossing themed XL is not what you'd do if you're not interested in playing animal crossing.

I'm tempted to nab this but I'm also hoping for a 3DS XL bundle with the new Zelda game later this year.

kids better learn that charizard is the best pokemon ever period ! i remember opening up so many of the original booster packs in hope of pulling a copy of its card but no luck lol. i also youtube its best battles in the series from time to time. ahhhh memories :D

IIRC Blastoise was the best of the three in the original games and there was an electabuzz card that was awesome in the card game.

On a related note, are the 3DS XL handhelds region locked? I'd be interested in picking up a 'Zard XL if not

Ok so it's not a deal for you. Cool. Doesn't mean its not a deal for those who want the game and this 3ds. I guess deals on games I have no interest in aren't deals by that logic?

Exactly. Just because a digital copy sells at MSRP doesn't mean it can be valued at that. We all know digital games should be cheaper and physical games drop in price and have resale value, therefor making them more valuable.
I'm tempted to get this bundle. But seeing that XL's supposedly go on sale for 160$ routinely I'm not so sure. Where should I watch for an XL at 160$?
Watch for sales during the week this is released. If there are no sales and you MUST HAVE this particular 3DS, then buy it. If not, wait for a sale on the next special edition. Nintendo has been popping these out like there's no tomorrow, so eventually you'll find an XL for $160.

I'm calling it now, XL bundle with game(s) - BF 2013 - $150

I think I'm going to throw up. I want to buy this but already own 1 3ds and 3 3ds xl handhelds. Looks like I'll have to drop another bundle of money to shut my inner collector up!

Go for it!
I have 2 Zelda 3ds, 2 pikachu XL, 1 blue XL from Mario cart bundle and the SMT ll coming and was on the fence initially but the colorful/cheerful design finally won me over. Can never have enough special hardware!

I'm convinced Nintendo releases these things for people like this.
I'm convinced Nintendo releases these things for people like this.
duh. I suppose I'm in the crowd but only have one Zelda, one Pikachu, one Fire Emblem. only other special edition i have is the classic Ninentdo Gameboy SP but that's been in service whereas my 3DS are still sealed.

I'm likely to pass on this one and Luigi if it comes over.
I'm convinced Nintendo releases these things for people like this.
Maybe you're right. Count me in. This will be my 3rd one.
I'm convinced Nintendo releases these things for people like this.
I agree and also join the group of people who own limited edition handhelds. :)

So for those that collect and buy the handhelds, do guys open it up and play with it? Or are the special editions kept sealed and you have a dedicated regular version you play with?

Man if money wasnt an issue id be collecting special edition handhelds to. But since its an issue, i can live with owning just one. Hehe!

i opened 1 zelda 3ds, my blue xl is my play. rest is seal. I will open SMT once I receive it since it will be my jp 3ds.

I opened gundam vs gundam psp for play, rest I keep seal. will have 3 vita soon, my play vita is the one that came with Assassin's creed.

Have a couple of pokemon/pikachu dsi/3ds etc since after this pic. Toukiden vita incoming.

I open mine and use them, but I keep them in good condition as best as possible. Some people might find it strange but depending on my mood I'll choose which one to play it.

I absolutely adore LE consoles. I have the Kingdom Hearts DSi but it kills me knowing how obsolete it is now. I have the Pikachu XL but it gets use daily, and so does my Star Wars 360.

At any rate, I might just use the $20 GameStop credit I've been hanging on to to reserve the AC XL. I think it's REALLY cute, and if it ends up being as rare as the Pikachu one and not everybody gets one, I can always give it to my girl (who plans on getting it, too).
