Project X Zone $34 , INFINITY Starter Pack $65 , Xbox 12 Mon $42 @ Newegg

X-Zone... so tempted to cancel my Amazon pre-order... this is guaranteed to be the limited pre-order edition? 99% sure but nervous that it doesn't list it.

Yes, it will be. As a matter of fact, the only edition that will be released in the US is the "limited" edition that Japan got.

I'd cancel my Amazon, but thanks to Bing Rewards points I got the game for free with Amazon Gift Cards.

I love saving money and project x zone isn't one of my must have on release date games...so cancelling amazon ordering here!
Hm... save $6 on X Zone and get a damaged copy from Newegg or keep my Amazon preorder?:whistle2:k
I wish these places packed these games better. I'm still worried Amazon will send it in a bubble mailer too.

I wish they added a .50 cent option like Play-Asia does to pack it in a box.

Wait, you don't get your item in a box?
I've order from them about three times, and i've never gotten a damage item. The item always comes in a little small box.

It's amazing what they'll do to save...what...50 cents?

I need to see a bit more gameplay before I decide.

EDIT: Now that NoelVermillion mentioned it, I don't completely remember how it came the last time I bought a game from Newegg.

Preordering Infinity from almost anywhere else gets you an additional action figure of your choosing and a pack of power discs. If you are interested in buying anything past the starter pack preorder from Amazon.

Nope. I think Newegg is very YMMV on packaging depending on which warehouse they ship from. For the last few years, I've gotten all of my smaller CEs from Newegg in bubble mailers. Looking at my order history, the two most notable ones were RE5 CE at release (they did give me a $10 refund, which I used to buy a replacement box) and Kingdom Hearts 3D CE at release. For the KH3D CE, they bubble mailer was ripped by the item's corner... which they covered up with the shipping label.:whistle2:x

The rest I got post release and at a discount so I can't complain too much about those.

Some CAG said that they always covered refund shipping for returns, but they never do for me. The only CEs they ever shipped in a box was Skyrim and Uncharted 3. Funnily enough, they often ship regular edition games in boxes.

This isnt a playasia thread. Get out of here with your Newegg diss.

Not dissing Newegg just saying they need this option as does Amazon. I order from Newegg just don't order limited editions unless I want a crushed box and want to pay return shipping. Also Newegg has the worst CS out there I've encountered.

Hahaha! Someone's been reading the Amazon Warehouse deals thread. ;)

Tempted for the Project X Zone, but Newegg doesn't take Paypal for preorders.

notto disu shitto agen.

i've ordered all kinds of games and parts for two seperate computers (among other things) from Newegg and i've *never* gotten a damaged box or case, and this is using the free shipping as well

My code of princess packaging came damaged. Had to sell it on eBay. Amazon isn't any better, but returns are easier with AMZ. I'm just going with the lower price and will figure out the rest later.

If you actually read some of the responses in this thread, you'll see that I'm not the only one who's received damaged CEs, nor are you the only one who receives everything in boxes. It varies.

I've shopped with them since 2006 and it wasn't until 09/10 that I noticed a huge shift to using bubble mailers for games (they always shipped my PC components and electronics in boxes though). Amazon has been 50/50 for but their return policy is much better.

Don't get me wrong, I won't ever stop shopping with Newegg. The fact that they're fighting patent trolls makes them golden in my book.

Their pc product orders come just fine, as they need to be handled fragile. Their collector’s edition video game products are the main concern people are having an issue with. Crushed, flattened, shattered, dented, destroyed during delivery is the problem. Either angry warehouse workers or rough delivery handlers.

He's just ribbing ya

He's referencing the third (fourth?) rise of pepsiman from earlier today on the AWD thread

That being said, I'd be all over the X Zone preorder if I wasn't getting it free from amazon due to them giving me an extra $20 coupon from that trade deal

I've received dozens of games from Newegg (many in bubble mailers), and only one was damaged.

all games this year have been in bubble mailers. I think the last game that Newegg sent in a box was when Tales of Grace came out.

I do recall noticing a different state on the tracking sticker last year so maybe they got rid of some warehouses

Yeah, I know they issued return shipping labels in the past when I contacted them (the problem was usually a loose disc that had become damaged during shipping). But they have also offered a discount on the item as well, which I refused since I don't want a scratched new game. So sometimes I had to be persistent. But they may have become less lenient about returns now...

Newegg is a backwards company. I have two copies of Animal Crossing pre-ordered but I can't just cancel one of them. I have to return it. Might as well just sell it for $30 on CL when it comes in.

Anyways, I've ordered Etrian Odyssey IV and Soul Hackers from NE. Yah, they came in bubble envelops...but there was no damage.

So I must be getting lucky.

Pre-ordered SMTIV and PXZ.
is this the LE of project x zone? looks like a standard edition. Gamestop and Amazon list the limited edition
I think it's ONLY being released in the US as the LE

Have you tried calling them and requesting to cancel one of the ACs?

Thanks, OP. In for Project X Zone (and hoping they don't try to put all DLC on the disc, then charge us for it....and count that as a Capcom character, lol). I'm not too informed on the game (no time), but lots of people that I tend to share their tastes' have much excitement. I just hope Fire Emblem:Awakening hasn't spoiled me, since the screens with the maps (overworld, per se) look very simplistic & rough. The maps in FE:A are really nice. They stand out, yet make for an immersive experience that I could see being hampered by a bland arena with only the cool attacks looking good. I hope that doesn't end up being the case.

uhhhh I just got my Project X Zone and it appears to NOT be a limited edition.  I didn't think that was even possible!  Just a regular 3DS game case.  Anyone else get theirs yet?  This sucks, Newegg is gonna have some angry customers on their hands.  :headache:

same here, its just the regular version, I went ahead and cancel all my other preorders that don't mention bonuses

I'm getting mine on Thursday. Shipping says it's only .20 pounds. I'm worried. I'll be pissed if it's not the LE. Newegg kind of sucks. Haven't had good experiences in the past, but day one discounts continue to make me go against my better judgment.

Naturally I'm annoyed at Newegg, but how did they even get non-L.E. copies in the first place?  Did Namco Bandai screw up?  This whole thing is really confusing.

Shin Megami Tensei IV better come with it even though the title didnt say bonus or edition. But the picture shows the artbook and soundtrack.

they had my ps3 system as that weight too.. but listed 2 games as 10 pounds LOL

Mine was a regular edition. I contacted customer support, they said I can return it (but have to pay shipping). They also suggested contacting the manufacture. I'm not preordering any more "gray area" games/editions from Newegg again, only if its cheap and only one version.

i'm going to best buy to try and get the LE. Does anyone know if it's the same SKU? Maybe I can return the regular edition to Best Buy tomorrow. Basically swap.

. I cancelled my Amazon order for this one over 6 measly dollars! I'd rather've paid the fuck ing extra 6 bucks had I known namco was going to flake like this, god damnit.

Newegg customer service basically shrugged their shoulders when I called. "We only have this listed, says nothing about being limited." On phone with Namco. I'm betting they are of no help either.
