Kinect Sesame Street Season 1 Pass for $8.79 (70% off)

AfroMcNinja

CAGiversary!
I was just browsing the marketplace and I saw an ad about 70% off Kinect Sesame Street. Turns out its on the season 1 season pass ( which normally retails for 2400 MS points) is now down to 700 MS points.

I did the research and in a season pass you get 8 episodes, which is about $1.09 per episode ( during the sale )compared to the usually $3.50.

I don't know how long the sale is on for, but now is the time to buy if your'e on the fence about the game as I was.

Just a price comparsion with Amazon, where the disc version of Season 1 is retailing for $25.

I was just about to get seasons 2, I think I will wait then.  I though these things would NEVER go on sale.

FYI: The disc version includes a DL code for Seasson 1 Pass as well

Did you see that in the marketplace on the Xbox or on the web? I've been wanting to get this for my daughter but can't seem to navigate to purchase it on the web marketplace.

Took me a while to realize Kinect Sesame Street is different than Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster, which uses Kinect.

Yep, been looking at the Kinect Sesame Street TV for her, not Once Upon A Monster. Hopefully this will still be active when I get home today. Can't find a way to purchase it on the web marketplace.

Its on the xbox. I couldn't find a link to it on xbox.com. I'm sorry.

But the ad for the sale is right when you click on the shop games tab, and it will be a small ad on your right side that has Elmo on it

I saw this last night.  With the discounted points from MSStore, it works out to roughly $3.  Not too shabby.

Really wish season 2 was also on sale.

Funny cause when you click on the icon "Save 70%" there is a red logo that says Season Passes on sale.  I read that as both of them, but only got disappointment.   :bomb:

Both Seasons 1 and 2 have been free at one point or another, all 8 episodes of each, this is still a deal but there have been better ones

The offer ends on 6/10/13 if anyone is curious. I don't have this but picked it up. My daughter turned one in march, now is as good as any to get her into gaming. :p

Dang it!  I just bought the disc based season 1 from the MS store during the $10 off sale for $20.  I didn't think it would ever go on sale...any details on how/why those were free at one point or another?  I'd like to get Season 2 at some point.

I'm positive if these had really been free I would have known about it between the deal sites and achievement sites.

They have been advertised as "free" but were really trials at various points.

I don't know if you've opened your disc yet but there's a code inside for the digital season 1 - you can redeem that and trade in/sell the disc version.

are we sure that season 2 isnt on sale as well? whenever i go click on season 2 it doesnt show a price and I get an error.
Mine is downloading right now as free, file size is 843.86 MB, it's titled as Season 2 Content.
ive downloaded that before. if its like what it was it isnt going to let you play the full thing.
I see no other way to purchase season 2.
you cant pay the 2400 points?

hopefully the season 2 pass' price changes before the sale is done. I think both were supposed to be on sale.
You were correct its a form of "trial" if you go back to redownload it shows as 2400 points. Also, it says seasons so season 2 either is on "sale" or there is a issue with update of sales price.

You have to jump through some hoops to actually get season 2.  I remember calling MSFT about it and the tech didn't even know how.  I figured out you have to download the free sesame street app for your dashboard first, then you can purchase the pass for season 2.

Its great though, my kids really liked it, they're 5 and 3.  The 5 year old loved all of it.

pretty sure I already have the app since I downloaded season 1 free with the code that comes with the retail disc of season 1 and I'm still having issues seeing a price for season 2. But if its 2400, that's the normal price. I really do think it is supposed to be on sale but there's some error. :(

Unless things have changes you can buy season 2 within the App. Also, the folks saying this was free are confused. It's like the games they give out "free" but you have to pay for a character. The App is free and includes a demo of episode 1.

What the heck is this?  I've never heard of it before.  I have that Sesame Street Kinect game but after reading n64ra's post I see this is something different.  So I have a 5 year-old and 3 year-old who love Kinect Party.  Would this be a good get for them?

OK, so it is this:

Hmmm... My kids never watch Sesame Street so they won't be enthralled with the characters but maybe the Kinect stuff will keep them interested.  And yeah, I gots to use all those cheap points on something ;).

Yeah, OK, with all my 1/3 off points (that probably won't transfer to the One anyway) 700 is nothing.  I'll just get it.  If they don't like it I'll play it myself for the achievements ;).

OK, so this isn't like a normal arcade game.  I guess you download this "App" as a free trial and then buy the season pass?  I just wanted to queue up the download and play something else but since the app is installing (very slowly) I can't do anything else.  I guess I'm actually downloading the full thing as a "trial" and the season pass just unlocks all the content then, right?

Every other time I've gotten the prompt for an "app" to install I've always canceled it.  I guess I have to let this one finish...

My daughter wasn't a huge sesame Street fan, but the game does a pretty good job of keeping the kids engaged. I'd recommend it.
Agree with Chair_home. Get it. My kids didn't watch a lot of the show either but still like this. It's basically an interactive episode. Some of the collection stuff in season 1 is a bit hard for small kids but season 2 rectifies a lot of that. The season pass gives you all the episodes + a year subscription to the ability to watch a lot of stuff in their app. The price is low, get it.

They'll like it, trust me. My son doesn't watch the actual show but is CONSTANTLY asking to play this. He's turning 3 in a few months. My 5 year old also likes it. There's a National Geographic one of these too but it's a bit harder for small kids. Seems like it's aimed at kids a little older...

You can download each episode to your Xbox or stream them. I'd recommend the download to avoid buffering issues but you're going to need an Xbox with a decent sized hard drive since each episode is pretty big. I forget the full size of each.

Just a word of warning. There appears to be a glitch if you redeemed the code from the retail version. Many people have reported being unable to purchase the license for Season 2. It shows up as 0 MSP on the dashboard, but when you try to purchase it it shows as -1 MSP. If you try to confirm the purchase it says it costs ~4 billion MSP (2^32 actually)

I spoke to xbox support yesterday and they could not give me a resolution. It seems to affect only people who redeemed the code from the retail version and even then it's not guaranteed to affect you. I can purchase them on another xbox and can also pay for eac episode, but you're spending $10 more on the overall season if you buy individual episodes.

Yesterday I went into the free app then to buy season pass store. The season 2 pass showed 2400 on the title page but when you actually go to purchase it (where it pulls up your points total through marketplace) it shows as 0. I purchased it and it DLed a 864MB item. I assume this would be the size of a full season.

After that 864

After that 864MB file is downloaded, you have to go back to where you first downloaded it and buy a Season 2 Pass, which shows up at 2400MSP. You do not get Season 2 with that 864MB file.

so if I was effected by this glitch I should delete all my season 1 stuff?

also...still no sale price on season 2? Think I'm holding off.
