I heard recently Gamestop had an one hour sale for Injustice:God Among Us deal.

I wasn't aware and missed my chance to get the game.

So I am here to please ask this forum, how can I get notifications on game deals emailed to me at all times?

I'd say your best bet for situations like that is to follow us on twitter or facebook.

  I'm used to coming to the main page and seeing if a new CAG cast is available. Now it seem that the front page is just a list of forums.

  I've been a CAG for a long time and listened to every CAG cast, but it doesn't take much to throw me off. If I have to dig to see if there is a new CAG cast....I will probably be listening to a lot less CAG casts and eventually be visiting the site less and less.

  Hopefully this is just a tempoary thing, but I just wanted to voice my opinion that I don't like the main page just being the same fomum home page everytime I visit (if that is the way it is going to be).

The site feedback post in the forums has information on the changes going on and the changes upcoming, primarily that this is only a start and that more changes are coming over the course of the next few days.

There are also some screenshots of what things will look like soon, including the new homepage, which certainly won't be a bunch of forum links. ;)

 
Yeah, I don't think the front page will remain the way it is right now.   Seems like they are focused on making sure the forums are working first and then they'll make sure the rest of the site comes up,

 
I would wait until I got home to post my reply to the CAG 3.0 Upgrade thread but I'm usually checking the site through out the day and may need to post some deals or comments.

Anyways, I'm not able to post to existing threads at work. I can create a new thread but I can't type anything in the reply field for existing threads. I can't type anything when I use the Quote button either. I thought the upgrade may not be complete even though others post but I was able to post at home.

Any ideas?

Maybe I can't find it, but on the old site there was a way to block signatures on everyone's posts.  Some of these sigs are not always appropriate for work, so I had them blocked. 

Is this possible on the new site?

Yes, you hover in the top-right area of a user's signature for an "X" to appear. Clicking the 'X' will have signature-related options pop-up.

There's an image with the location in the "CheapyD's CAG 3.0 Forums Pro Tips - a work in progress" thread.

 
Thanks. Is there also an option for avatars too? While not as annoying as sigs,  some of them are. And I also prefer a clean look without sigs and avatars.

I haven't updated my bio in a long time (since joining actually) and I wanted to change it, but I couldn't find an option to do so under my settings or my profile.  Any help?

 
Are you talking about all the stuff under Bio, like the region settings, location, interests and all that? Yeah, I can't find that either, I don't think they added that back yet.

 
That type of image is not currently allowed on the new CAG. Those that end in .jpg, .png, .gif, .jpeg, etc. should work fine. What you're trying to use is a dynamic link that doesn't have an image extension on it at all.

You can achieve this by editing your notification settings.

  • Navigate to your Notification Preferences in your User CP.
  • Find Notification method to use for topics in followed forums.
  • Check the Email box.
  • Navigate to the Deals forum.
  • In the top right corner, click the Follow this forum button.
Just be warned, you will get an email every time there's a new thread/deal submitted.

Yea that's what I wanted to edit. I was able to modify the about me page w/o issues but I guess CAG didn't restore the feature for bio edits with the new system yet.

 
I know the update of the new site is not done, but I am just giving feedback.  

The best thing about the old website was the "List" of the top ongoing deals.  Hopefully that is still in the agenda!

 
I been coming to CAG for 7 years on a daily basis, but honestly now with CAG 3.0, it feels like a chore to browse the site. I really miss the front page with top deals, CAG cast, twitter feed.

Agreed as well, that's what I always started with

 
Is there a way to do it? I accidentally hid a post before I could make a new one in Steam Group Buys and I don't want to go through the process of making it again.

Any help would  be appreciated.

If you have the proper permissions, the "Hide" button will just cause the post to be highlighted to signify its invisibility. The "Hide" button then just changes to "Unhide." If you can't see that button where hide was originally, only Mods are able to do it.

 
I don't like this new feature.

If I wanted to include whatever I said in the second post in my first post, then I would put it in the first post.

In this case I am trying to get the attention of a trader whose inbox is full and you are sticking my message in my trading post. It is easier to see it if it is its own post.

 
I loved the original website because right in the main page we had all the updates of the site now the main age is an regular forum page =/

If you post in a thread, and people posted after you it should notify you ONCE that there are new posts in that thread since you last checked it.

I posted in a thread earlier, and have 50 + notifications for every single person who posted in there since 

When some of these threads get quite long, it makes using notification impossible

Ill likely just permanently disable mine, but it seemed like a feature that had potential until it became incredible obnoxious 

 
How do you fix that? Or disable. I am too having the same issue. It's really making me go insane. I don't want to know about the thread each time someone post something.
