CAGiversary!
I noticed that the concensus until now was that DOA 5 Ultimate would be $60 so it may be a good idea to pre-order with Amazon and get the price guarantee just in case the price changes. Amazon is the only retailer that I could find listing a price.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate $39.99 pre-order price guarantee

Dead or Alive 5 Free to Play launches on September 3, 2013.

One of Harada's big E3 announcements is the free to play Tekken Revolution (PS3 exclusive). From the trailers it appears that you get to choose between 8 free characters from the get-go.

Tekken Revolution looks like TTT2. Wonder if they added anything new to it and if it will have trophies?

I think $39.99 will be the standard price for DOA5U everywhere. All the other fighting game upgrades recently have been that way.

I'm thinking DOA5U will be $39.99 to but it's never a bad idea to lock in your preorder just in case. But i also usually buy my games from amazon anyway even if they are priced at retail so it's win win for me.

Did they already answer the questions regarding all the already purchased costumes being included or compatibe with the ultimate version? Will the save be compatible with the vita version in Ultimate like it is with the regular DOA5?

Given that Tekken has one of the largest rosters in fighting games that F2P could quickly become extremely expensive.

Thanks for the post. Preordered the PS3 version this time. The 360 version, I have been experiencing pretty bad lag which cause combos not connecting or even button presses not registering when playing online. However, the same game on Vita using same Internet connection to same friends online, the lag is much less. I think the new Team Ninja is just favoring the PS platforms. They made the PS as the lead platform for the game; released a major patch 1 month ahead of the 360's; basically, they just throw a bone to the 360 to chew on but don't really care about it. DOAU's and DOA4's net codes on Xbox consoles were never like that when Itagaki was in the house.

DOA5U would be overpriced even at $1.
Maybe, but fans like myself are suckers and we will pay what they ask. Same goes with crappy Ninja Gaiden 3 and its semi crappy remake. I guess the same could be said about COD suckers. Same game every year with minor updates but sell like crazy.
