Interesting polls.  Bellcurve looks a lot like what I expected.  And my own personal preferences fall in line with the majority as well.

lol, gamefaqs. people are writing off Microsoft based on the internet reactions of a bunch of angry nerds who aren't even in their target demographic. Sony may do better than MS next gen but that Xbox One is going to sell a lot more than any of these polls are implying.

My only issue is that people assume Microsoft wont survive their stupidity. No matter what happens, M$ will live but not prosper if they keep the current model.

This needs to be posted everywhere someone says the X1 won't sell because of gamer reaction.

I consider myself pretty neutral in terms of console wars, and still own my PS1, 2, and 3 - as well as my Xbox and 360.

My point of view from E3 is that Sony won hands down, based on the fact they won't be forcing DRM on their exclusives and the price point of their console. Although, I don't see much innovation or risk coming from Sony. It's a safe, but still strong strategy consider MS is walking a tight rope.

Xbox One seems to have the better exclusives for launch hands down. Everyone was freaking out about the Kinect, but my concerns were killed when I saw you could essentially turn it off when you're playing a game that doesn't require motions. Some of the added features like running 2 OS seems pretty cool. Being able to Skype/watch TV while I play on the same screen seems like a pretty cool feature as well. I feel like MS definitely redeemed themselves by focusing all on games during E3 (although I figured they would after only focusing on entertainment/added features during their reveal).

PS4 backing indie devs and not going to DRM on first parties was big for the gamer. I didn't like how they used time at E3 to focus on some of the added entertainment features, I would of rather heard more information on exclusives. Understand why the flew passed needing the PS+ for PS4, but don't see it as a huge deal since it's worth it. The price point and staying away from DRM is what really won though.

Put me in the B category for both, although I still have a lot of unanswered questions...more so on the X1 side.

Keep in mind people are more apt to be vocal when they don't like something (any customer service professional can tell you this) compared to when someone has a good exp. So the old axiom about the squeaky wheel....yeah keep that in mind come the end of the year.

Also I don't see Mr. and Ms. Casual Gamer dropping $500 for an XB1, just because they can "play with their cable TV and talk to the XB"...

I think if anything it will be more interesting when average Joe consumer can't play his $60 game on his $500 console. At least we understand the rules and are on top of this stuff, so we know what we are getting into if we choose to buy an XBOX One. Regarless of what we think I imagine there will be some backlash by the general public at some point.

This is exactly it. If Gamefaqs was the barometer of what sells, the Wii U would be impossible to find on shelves.

Yep, Comcast isn't the most reliable service. If I had the One and for some reason the internet was down on my day off, what happens then? Just a "sorry you have to be connected to the internet for this box to work" from MS?

Time will tell, a lot of xbox haters now will get the console once it goes down in price, there is always an exclusive game that somebody wants. Mine happens to be Killer Instinct, I don't know if that would be enough for me to buy it day 1 though. I was burned by both Sony and Microsoft, not as much by MS though. My $600 launch system getting a ylod and a rrod less than 2 years after release is what I'm basing my decision on. I have them both per-ordered but $500 is a lot of money with no guarantee, same goes for the ps4. I think the Wii U might be my last day 1 purchase, I can wait for a price drop.
