So I've finally made it past Seifer (thanks to the Odin trick) and I now am at the start of disc 4 where I face Adel/Rinoa. Unfortunately I'm stuck.

My team is Squall/Quistis/Zell. Problem is that I leveled up with only Squall, Quistis, and Rinoa so my team with Squall/Quistis/Zell is lvl 69/64/13. My HP is really low at 3029/2639/774 (not sure how to increase besides leveling up). I see youtube videos where they have physical attacks well into the 4 digits but I can't come close to 1K/hit. My strength is GF's but that would hurt Rinoa.

I've been playing this game on and off again for a good 5 years. Now I get to the last disc and I'm stuck with no clear solution. Anyone have tips? I want to finish this game very badly.

What do you have junctioned to HP, Strength, etc? Leveling up actually makes enemies stronger, so you're better off not leveling and instead junctioning strong spells to your attributes.

Like the person above me said, Junctioning is your best bet. as well as make sure your GFs have the proper abilities. The one thing that i've always done; is make sure each GF learns their whatever-RF ability immediately, so you can start creating spells out of items; and in the end, you can junction some powerful stuff.

If need be, you could travel back out into the real world (when walking up the chain, there should be some white things you can hop onto); you. (Also the only way to access any previous shops; I believe is through the TonBerry call shop ability)

I foolishly decided to max out the levels in my first playthrough, and I spent A LOT of time grinding and junctioning spells to abilities. It made the rest of the game really easy, and fighting Omega and Ultima Weapon was a breeze after reading the guides.

FF8 was an oddity, not just in FF but among all JRPGs, in that you should be able to finish it at any level.  There are even "low level runs" where people try to complete it with as little xp as possible.

I remember junctioning endlessly to max out my stack of "spells" which I'd never cast, just because I wanted the biggest bonus it would provide.  Interesting design... in concept... but the implications of certain aspects made for a lot of boring grinding.
