From the verbiage, it would definitely seem that you have to have received some kind of e-mail from them regarding this promo.  Seems YMMV, for sure.

So we could buy a gift card for ourselves and then get the extra $10? Is that right or am I looking at this the wrong way?

I got my email at 12:24 PST.

I got the email. I see you can send the gift card via email or FB. So how does this work? The recipient gets a code for the $50 amount that they enter in? In that case, I plan to jus send it to my FB account. Also it says the $10 promo is only valid till Aug 31. Can I use it on a game preorder for a release after? Would be cool to combine this with the other $10 promo from the trade in offer

ETA: Scratch the last part as I see it says i cant be combined. Still I wonder if I could apply it to my PS4 preorder

Has anyone done this?  I got the email (which has no promo code with it) and went through the checkout up to the point of confirming my purchase and did not see a place to enter a promo code anywhere.

It says that the promotional code will be emailed to you by July 15, which means it's a "promo code" that you enter at check out.  I'm hoping that the $10 trade-in promo is a "different" kind of promo that you can stack, since those credits are one of those "hidden" credits that are automatically applied to your next eligible purchase.  I also have the $20 video game bonus credit from a few months ago, hopefully those will stack too.  Anybody here knows how these promos generally stack or not stack?

not that my word is law, but I've never seen different promo credits not stack.

Got the email a day or so ago and just ordered myself a $50 GC.  Not sure how long it will take for the $10 promo to show up but so far nothing.

I see that this $10 credit expires in August. I was planning on preordering a PS4 game using this offer. Is anyone aware if I can use this $10 on a preorder today that I probably won't technically be charged for until some time in November?

So, just to confirm, people have had no issue sending themselves a gift card and getting the promo credit?
No I've done this last month. I got this deal last month for some "Mother's day" special and sent the card to myself and still got the promo credit.

With the line stating "Promo Code may be applied only to eligible products sold by Amazon.com Inc"

does it apply to PSN cards as they are Sold by Amazon Digital Services, Inc. or those are two different things altogether?

never got it   guess i got to go into  CS CHAt agAIN

Was told cause i used   CREDIT CARD POINTS I dont get the 10... WTF

pretty sure you need a credit card to buy it (wont allow you to use credits to buy gift cards)
Damn :(

I don't feel like exchanging that amount of real money into credits just to get $10 more credits.

Thank you.

I think this expired yesterday, didn't it?

EDIT: Nevermind, I got the dates mixed up.  Seems like a good deal if you shop often at Amazon (which is quite a lot of people).

Yeah, I looked at the recent topics but nothing so I googled the deal and this topic came up so I posted here.

It expires today.

So Amazon sent me a code for $10 for this promo but I also seem to have a $10 credit applied to my account. Anyone else get potentially 2 $10 credits?

I got my $10 code but found out I cant apply it to an existing order. I was under the impression I could. Man that sucks

I just got one for September. Does the $10 promotional credit get added directly to my account or is it a code? I have $30 credit already and I am hoping the $10 credit would be added to that and that I could use the gift card along with that on one purchase.

Its a promotional credit which isnt added to your gift card balance. And can only be used on Amazon sold products and has an expiration date. You can use your existing credit and the promo credit on the same purchase though.

FYI you cant use credit to buy this $50 credit.
