Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition - Mac Version $9.99 on Mac Game Store

FYI, I bought this when it was $6.79 on steam the other day. I have 2010 iMac with 4gbs of RAM and this brought my computer to its knees. I picked it up for Xbox instead. Really good game though! I would just make sure you fit in the specifications (I didn't).

I have a 2011 iMac, and while I can get nearly every game I've ever bought to look great either in the Mac OS or through Windows 7 in bootcamp, this game just looks and runs like crap.  Just giving a fair warning to Mac gamers.

I've been tempted to buy this game on numerous occasions but I have no need/don't want an XBOX 360 so I'd be relegated to being able to play it on my computer only, which brings to me to my question:

I have a 15" MacBook Pro Retina with a 2.6GHz i7 and 16GB RAM - I'm assuming this would probably run well on this?  Also, anyone know how it would work when using an HDMI cable to play it on my TV?

[Edit]

If you couldn't tell, I don't know a damn thing about Mac/PC gaming and their requirements anymore.  I haven't played a computer game since Quake III came out...

It depends. I have a ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB for my graphics card. It recommended at least a 1gb card. Here's the specs from Steam. You can check them against yours by going to finder > about this mac > more info.

  • Minimum:
OS: OS X 10.7.5 or higher. OS X 10.8.0 or higher
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GT 650M 512MB (on 1440x900, low), Radeon HD 5770 1GB (on 1440x900, low), Intel integrated graphics chipsets are not supported
  • Hard Drive: 25 GB HD space Please note: Nvidia is constantly perfecting the graphics drivers for Mac Book Pro with the Nvidia 650M Graphics Card. Until they provide an update the performance in the game on Macs with 600 Series nVidias may not measure up to usual levels.

  • Recommended:
OS: OS X 10.7.5 or higher. OS X 10.8.0 or higher
  • Processor: Quad Core Intel
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 675MX 1GB (on 1920x1080, medium), Radeon HD 6970M 1 GB (on 1920x1080, medium), Intel integrated graphics chipsets are not supported

I've got a GeForce GT 650M with 1GB RAM in mine. I might have to jump on this to gear up for The Witcher 3 on PS4.

Yeah, it sounds like it would run really nicely on your system then. Don't forget that they also released a (semi-official) big patch. I am not sure if it is going to (or has) make it to Mac, but I would definitely check that out if you get it up and running.

I'm tempted to but this game for my mac, even though I already have it for Xbox 360 and beat it twice..... any word on if Mac users will get the level editor?

Edit: Eh gonna get it for my nephew *shrug*
