Cheap Ipods/MP3 Devices with a lot of storage?

Shadic

CAGiversary!
I recently bought a new car with a USB hook up for MP3 devices, and I've been looking into cheap MP3 players that holds a lot of music. My idea is to buy something relatively cheap that I can then keep in my car all the time, and hold all my music on.

I own a 16 gb Iphone, but it's already more or less filled up with apps, music, and other things. I was a moron for only buying the 16, but at the time I had loss everything (including a 32 gb ipod touch) in  a fire as was looking to get something that was cheaper.

I tried the SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip with a 30gb micro sd card, but my car's stereo would recogonize it (a problem a lot of people had apparently), so I returned that. So I don't know which way to go. Do I pony up at just buy an expensive ipod touch or something? Any better/cheaper options?

Any deals?

Any help would be appreciated.

I changed the settings on my clip to every possible setting to try and get my car to read it. No dice.

I can't imagine it would just read a USB stick, but i'll give it a shot. Have plenty lying around.

Thanks for the advice you two.

That is actually what a lot of newer car/stereo go with so you play the songs with your current car stereo, they just read off the mp3 from the usb stick instead of a burned cd etc.

just some info I grab off the net just now

USB input: A lot of car stereos have USB inputs, either on the faceplate or mounted to the back of the stereo. If you have a thumb drive, a front-mounted input is an easy way to listen on the road. All you have to do is connect the drive, select the song you want, and go. Most USB connections will even recognize file information and ID3 tags, so you can scroll through song titles and artist names as you would on your computer. You can also use the USB input to connect a compatible portable player or even a portable hard drive.

I did some research and it looks like ScanDisk USB sticks work with no problem on my car's stereo. Going to go pick up a 32 gb today. Thanks guys!
