That's stupid. The one ten minutes away from my house isn't on there. Even the one that is half an hour isn't either. I guess I won't be being apart of this. :(

I thought pre-orders for the new consoles were already filled. Thinking about canceling my Amazon and going for Best Buy. Edit: NM. Only at certain stores.

I just realized, I don't think I've ever bought a next-gen console at launch.

Hmm... I already have a pre-order from Best Buy for instore pickup for that particular store.  Might be worth going there to talk to them about getting the extra $30 back.

Damn, if I wasn't gonna be forced to buy an extra controller then I would be all over this.  Get the $30 back and use my Discover card (if the 5% cashback would be active on BB) on this to get the PS4 hella cheap.

Got this too.  Might have to finally order a PS4 with my $375 RZ credit.  Hopefully I won't have to work that night.

Ugh.. I've had my PS4 paid off entirely via RZ Certificates and gift cards since E3, and canceling that and locating the gift cards and reprinting the $300+ in RZ certificates will be such a hassle, but I'm planning on getting a game and controller as well. /sigh

Wouldn't I be risking launch availability pre-ordering this late in-store, though?

Also, will they require the full payment of $520+ tax on the spot? I'll have enough for all of it with more certificates and my $100 in Shop kick points, but ugh. And will the 2x points stack with the $30 bonus?

The more questions I ask (that pry can't be answered here), the more I just want to cancel my pre-order and take part in this promo, haha.

Okay, I'm a little confused about two things.... first, where does your local store's page list participation in this promo? I checked a bunch of stores in Dallas and didn't see any mention of it.

Second... panda911, really? You have no need for a second controller? That might be the saddest thing I've ever heard.

Wow, this is sounding pretty private. So much so that it was filtered to my spam folder.

I'm not really seeing that great of an advantage here. Getting to a Best Buy store is a bit of a chore, then once I'm there, I'm reminded why Best Buy isn't worth the 40 minutes drive.

I never buy a second controller for my consoles when I buy them. Why should I? I don't beat up on my controllers normally and I rarely(if ever) have company over so I wouldn't need a spare.

As for me, my next closest BB store is doing this event but NOT the one closest to me. Oh well. Maybe I'll hit this thing up anyway for shits & giggles.

At one time, they were pushing the 'no need to print out your RZ certificates' thing. Saying they'll look them up and apply them for you.

I think it has to do with the fact there are literally no couch coop games announced yet, except for maybe two indie titles, even I am having doubts on the second controller, and I play local co op almost every day. I wish shadow fall would have local co op like Killzone 3 which was a lot of fun, but that doesn't seem like the case.

I also got this email but I really don't need a extra controller that kinda kills the deal for me. Plus I also wonder when I made my pre-order back at E3 cancelling that one would move me down the list again right?!?

nvm, you are probably still going to get it.

Interesting since Best Buy cut off all Xbox One pre-orders on or around 7/7 (they even  disabled the SKU for it).  I actually ended up making my pre-order at the Microsoft Store but would rather Best Buy... so if I can I'll totally take advantage of simply being able to do-so ($30 RZ certificate or not).

I was thinking about it but decided not to cancel my order which I did online. I have a feeling that ordering in stores people are going to have more trouble with employee mistakes and fulfilling them.

if you preorder instore, do not cancel, because it wil be a mess, It is less reliable than ordering from bestbuy website.

I would have preordered my ps4 from best buy in the first place, it's definitely my preferred store, but the guy I was talking to pretty much told me I wasn't going to get one on day 1. He said his and most stores are expecting a handful on launch day. I think he's full of it, but it caused me to go to gamestop.

Why would you get 2x Reward Zone points for pre-ordering the system? Wouldn't you just get 2x on the $25 dollar deposit?

Someone do the math for me.

After the 3x Reward Zone Points, for an Xbox one, how much are we looking back in Reward Zone certificates?
You only get 3X points if you spend $1000+, so based on 2X points it will be about $25 in RZ certs. I also don't think the 2X points applies to pre-orders either way.

Pre-Order of package products must be on same transaction (one console, one controller, plus one game, all of one platform). Must purchase and pick up package within 7 days of street date. Eligible members will receive 1000 Reward Zone points (worth $20 reward certificate) for Console and Controller purchase, and 500 Reward Zone points (worth $10 reward certificate) for Game title purchase. Limit one Xbox One and PS4 package per member. Points will post to your account approximately 15 days from time of complete package pickup or shipment. Limit one bonus point offer per membership.
The bonus points for the $30 RZ cert also won't post until 15 days after you pickup your purchase.

So it will be a total of $30 in RZ certs or is that in addition to the normal points, which would add another $5 and change?

I believe you will get your base points in addition to the $30 RZ cert. Terms and conditions makes it clear that the $30 RZ cert is in the form of bonus points.

That is what I figure as well, but the wording is pretty unclear in the terms.

It also sucks that the game you have to buy has to be from a list. I was hoping to get a platform exclusive, not a 3rd party (at least the list is not awful, but still).

Ugh I miss living in VA, store right around the corner from my house had all the recent events, even the E3 WiiU one. Closest one here in Ohio doesnt have jack, and the employees seemed pretty stuck up from the few times I went.

Either way, I still remember the last one I attempted to go to, assumed the store would be fairly empty an no one would show (Like midnight launches). Instead I pulled up and saw a good 100+ people in line and instantly nope'd out of there.

That still applies. I don't know if anyone knew this, but if your RZ account is tied to your BBY account, you can just redeem those certificates right on the order screen. It's nice not having to log into myrz.com; copying the RZ cert #, and applying it to your order.

I wonder if the pre-order that is being offered for XBone is for the Day One edition or the standard edition ... too bad calling the store in advance of the event will likely get nothing but a "duh, I dunno" response

Anyone know if you can switch pre-orders between stores?  Too early for me to call them.  Just wondering as i won't be stationed in the same spot when the PS4 comes out but would like to take advantage of the promo.

Officially, no.

However, as long as you have the receipt and the product is available, you can pick it up at any BBY.

The problem being that they won't hold you a console at the future store.

No, you can; I did it. If you want them to change the preorder, go to the store you wish to pick it up at and ask them to pull the order details up on their system (RSS, I believe). Once there they can change the pickup store to any. At least, that's what they did to mine.

Not sure if you'll qualify for the $30 credit doing that though.

I used to get invites for these events via email (and maybe snail mail, too) but not anymore. Wonder what I did to piss off the Frenchman.

A drop-down menu is a strange way of indicating which stores are participating. Each entry takes you to a store home page, and I don't see an indication on any of the ones I checked that the store is participating - so apparently you have to go by the menu alone.

I read the sign up close today, the legal small print said that the preorder had to be redeemed within seven days of release....so I'm guessing it would have to be the day one?

My location gave out Samsung mini speakers, free code for the first GI Joe movie through cinema now, and a card for 250 RZ points. I preordered the ps4 bundle.  The cashier couldn't say if it was a launch bundle or not but he assumed so. He did say though that the Xbox one preorders were reserved for this. I don't know if that's true or not because I never inquired about it prior
