Yeah Ship those download times just seem insane to me. I recently upgraded to a 750GB HDD in my PS3 and I've been downloading 3-4 7GB-11GB games every night without issue. What generation of the hardware are you on? 1st gen? I'm on a slim 2nd gen, not sure if that has anything to do with it but that sucks.

I've got a launch PS3. My speeds had been really good recently, so I'm guessing my router just needed reset or something.
I have my PS3 connected via an ethernet cable because wi-fi was ridiculously slow for me, for whatever reason.

Wombat, I'm so envious of your having Serrano ham and Manchego cheese. Mmmm, tapas. Gotta go have some soon. We've got this great place in Portland called Patanegra that serves delish (albeit spendy) Spanish food.

I had a Soda Shaq Cream yesterday, it was alright. I liked it better than regular root beer.
Wombat, you actually can play Donkey Kong Arcade on the Wii. Considering you upgraded to the Wii U anyway, you can easily follow this guide to get some things running. http://lifehacker.co...in-five-minutes
You should also probably consider picking up an arcade stick Wombat. If you search your local Craigslist, you can get a good quality Street Fighter Stick for about $70, and it comes with authentic Japanese buttons and joystic.

Hi guys wassup,
CheapyD, I really like watchthisbitches. Most of the time I have already seen the movies you recommend (except the documentaries) and find joy when I agree with your recommendation. I caught Jiro dreams of Sushi, A Man named Pearl (did you recommend that?), and Queen of Versailles. Thanks.
About Rotten Tomato, I feel like you can also consider the audience score when judging movies. Sometimes there is like a 20% discrepancy between the critic's score and the audience score. I feel like Shipwreck and I have agreeable tastes in movies, and you too; unless, like you say, 70% is the danger zone, then maybe not.
Anyways great show guys. #savedetroit #djassault #coneyislandoneverycorner

Speaking of DRM, Sony recently relaxed the 1 system restriction on Playstatiion Video You can now re-download videos and download across multiple devices now.
Wombat, just tell her the Evil Dead girl was running with scissors, fell, and that was the result.
I am interested in the metro last light DLC code.

Commenting so Wombat stays and watched Girl Model. It made me sad for the girls but when you read that the girls kept on modeling after leaving Japan I somewhat felt less sad for them. Maybe they just didn't play enough video games while they were there. I don't know.

I have to admit you guys know your videogames for the most part. As for movie reviews and recommendations I have to advise listeners to think twice. The first transformers IMO was awesome. I still watch it now and again. Rise of the Fallen was OK and Darkside of the Moon seemed a total sellout movie made for mindless drones. You were way too generous with Pacific Rim to be dissin Transformers. Out of a little over two hours there is about 45 min of watchable movie. Not worth more than a redbox rental. Will Cheapy cry at the end? Yes he will. Do not take your wife to a theater to watch this flick. The scale was grand and the mayhem was awesome but thats it. Would that guy be a great contributor to Transformers franchise? Yes but I think its too far gone at this point unless they can bring back the epic feel from the first one. As for Despicable Me 2; I liked the first one but the second one blows civet coffee chunks. I couldnt stand to watch more than a quarter of the film.
I understand it's part of the show and that's cool. From the perspective of every day Mario the plumber it makes you guys seem like movie snobs and videogame whores. No disrespect just an analogy. It's seems like you give more credit to B list games than you give to A list movies.

I think you guys did not say how to enter the contest for the M:LL DLC on steam, but I assume that this is how, so please enter my name in the contest.
Also, good show.
Wombat, has MS fixed the ad thing or do you know? I think that your efforts tanked the stock price.
I think you guys should go ahead and talk more about indies that you like - I loved FTL after Cheapy's recommendation and will probably buy Rogue Legacy.
What do you guys think about the video sharing stuff on the next consoles - good or don't care?

The fact that this episode had both Sharknado and Time & Eternity explained kept me laughing my ass off. Great CAGcast as always, and a huge thanks on mentioning the Capcom collection for sale. As a gamer on the younger side (20), I've always heard of ghosts and goblins, among a few other games. Now I can finally play games that helped the industry reach the milestones it has today.
Also, I'm in for the Metro Last Light season pass!

The NCAA/EA news isn't as bad as Wombat made it out to be, as the CLC (Collegiate Licensing Company) represents a ton of schools, most of the conferences, and a bunch of the bowl games (full list here) and has been working with EA for years. They already had to make individual deals with schools anyway, so the news just means that EA won't have the NCAA logo and name on various things throughout the game.
The MAG and SOCOM PS3 servers aren't being taken down until next year, so there's still time to play them.
Cheapy, if you want to get a cool Steam game, grab Kerbal Space Program. It's basically about making rockets/spaceships to send Kerbals out to space as you try to make the best designs to reach the moon or other things in space. It would be a perfect livestream game.

I just have to know how Shipwreck ended up at Memphis. Are you originally from Tn? I always thought Ship was born and raised in OH. Memphis seems like an odd place to go when there so many other options for schools between Ohio and Tn.

I had no idea that "Time and Eternity" was the English title for Tokitowa until Ship started explaining the game. Once I realized that, it was hilarious - that game got some pretty poor reviews.
Another part I found funny was how you announced a contest for the Metro: LL DLC, and then proceeded to describe how the DLC isn't really good. I know it was unintentional, but it was funny to me.
Poor Cheapy - you need to learn the basics of the Steam Sales! (Both Summer and Winter.) You only buy a game if it's a daily deal, flash sale, or the community choice. Otherwise, you don't buy the game in case it appears on one of these throughout the duration of the sale. But if it's the last day of the sale, then you buy the game if it wasn't in either of these categories.
On another note, today is the last day of the Summer Sale, and I'm disappointed that Call of Juarez Gunslinger never went on sale for a decent price. I may just wait until the Winter Sale, since I have plenty of other games to bide my time...
I bought both Fallout 3 and NV in the sale myself. I've never beaten either one, but I have played about half in each n the past. Playing through 3 at the moment. By the way, I'm fairly sure there is weather in the Fallout games. Because I too get a ton of mods, and there are several that mention enhancing weather, rather than just adding it. I could be wrong, though.

Memphis gave me a full academic ride and the opportunity to run on their track and cross country teams. I also wanted to go away from home for school.

So Wombat said something along the lines that Fallout New Vegas was lacking something (I think he used spirit, so that's the word I'll use in the rest of the post) that Fallout 3 had. I would say that is an astute but slightly flawed observation. I've been a fan of the Fallout series since the first game and I would argue that Fallout 3 was actually lacking the spirit of Fallout 1 and 2. Fallout 3 was a good game, I think it did well with the conversion in the game play but something about the world was lacking the spirit that really pulled me into the first two Fallout games. I believe that the guys at Obsidian did a great job in bringing that spirit back to the series with New Vegas and that is why I continue to sink hours into New Vegas while Fallout 3 just collects dust on my shelf.
That said, still like the podcast, I just wish the new site didn't look worse than the old one.

Yeah, I found that comment a bit funny as well, seeing as Obsidian was originally Black Isle Studios, the people that made Fallout 2 and the almost-completed but canceled original Fallout 3. Now, personally, I like Fallout 3 just as much as New Vegas, but I see your point. Fallout 3 takes place in a completely new area to the universe, whereas New Vegas is in the general area of all the other Fallout games. I haven't played the original games (yet), but just by extensive reading of the wiki, I can see that New Vegas is a lot closer at heart to the originals than Fallout 3 is.
