Yeah the fine print says:

*Receive at least $50 in Best Buy gift cards to use toward the purchase of the popular games above or other items at Best Buy.

...although I think getting a general gift card may make it better

you can get this value without buying one of the games on the list

I traded in Black Ops 2 and FIFA 13 today for more than $25 each. BO2 got $30 and FIFA got $25.50 thanks to the 50% bonus promo going on right now. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking to take advantage of this. But it's not bad once the 50% is gone.

The small print says at least $25, so people would still be getting the $30 for BO2. This whole promo they are doing is a confusing way of saying that the games listed above will get you at least $25 for those games.

This might work in someones favor if they drop the value of any of those games and it goes below $25 after bonus. You can argue you are supposed to get at least $25.

does this deal work for every game that is 59.99 such as dynasty warriors 8 for example?
There is no deal here. More like a suggestion. Or an attempt for BB to confuse everyone. Just look up the value of the games and trade them in as normal. Buy something with the credit if you like.

All the games listed are at $17 base, with 50% it is $25.50 and with GCU, they are $27.20. So like klimb stated, it's more of a suggestion rather than a deal. If you can get these games cheap, might have lots of potential. You can snag Defiance from GS for ~$20 after birthday and PUR, and the Walking Dead for $19.99 new only, which isn't bad, but not great either.

No, I think they are just promoting their trade values by saying that if you trade in those games you get a new game for $9.99
thanks. made $15 off em anyway by PMing 4 copies of Walking dead and trading them back on the spot.

Even if not a deal I'm glad this was posted.  I'm going to trade in the Killzone Trilogy and pick Shin Megami Tensei IV.  Makes the $50 price more bearable.

My ban was magically lifted. Never called anyone.
some of the people had lift ban magically lifted during the bestbuy trade in system update during late 2011, or early 2012. When they whole trade in system was down, due to updating in the system. but donut was the only person who wrote to bestbuy corporate ( not sure, could be the company handling the trade in), and sucessfully had them lift his ban, and warn him not to over do it ( aka trading excessively as a dealer).

That was Sep 2012. Everybody's ban was lifted and most re-banned after 2 weeks or so. I retried in Dec '12 and was unbanned.

How many copies of a game can be traded in? If I were to trade two copies of walking dead for each Xbox and ps3 would this be allowed?

(Total of 4 copies) that should net me $100 credit correct?

According to the website rules the limit is 3 per game per platform per year. The issue is some stores make the limit 1 per game per platform. Maybe if you go in a few days later you can trade in the other copy or two, but the value may drop by then.

I personally traded in many many MANY games (prob around 130-150 in a 2-3 month span) and got banned, but I never broke the 3 game limit. Even when talking to corporate about it they admitted I never broke the 3 game limit once. But I traded in too many games even though there was no rule against that.

So all I can say is...the rules mean nothing to Best Buy. If they want to ban you from trade ins they can and will.

Yeah this isn't a deal at all. It's a good ploy by the marketing department though, maybe they can trick a couple people.

Thanks, I'm not worried bout being banned. This would be my first trade in and only trade in. Have some credit at GameStop that I'd like to move for a phone. So isn't a big issue. Thanks for the response.

it worked i'm unbanned

used my b2g1 coupon  at gamestop and got 3 copies of defiance $55 (in credit) and got 76.50 from the bestbuy 1 block over

it was test run and it worked now only 200 more to move already got my ps4 paid off so i have no need for all that extra gamestop credit

That would be no, all this was, was them increasing the TiV's to $17 so that after the 50% bonus, you would receive $25.50 per game for this list (and a few others) the trade in values have since dropped, the links to this have been removed from the trade in page and the video game main page. It is not hard to see why they stopped after a week, some of these TiV's were crazy (If you were GCU you could get $27.20 for Skyrim, when they themselves sold it for $22.5 DURING a b2g1 preowned!).

When was Skyrim ever a part of this trade in offer? All I saw was that one of the examples you could trade in your 2 on the list for ten bucks for was Skyrim Legendary Edition. Correct me if i'm wrong, but according to the next week ad for BB thread, this promo is in effect for that week. Not sure when the 50% ends but if it ends 7/27, then this promo should be better than normal trade in values.

The basic Skyrim for the (360) also was raised to the base TiV of $17 (When it was I beleive $8 before?)
Just because it wasn't on that list doesn't mean it wasn't part of the trade two. Within an hour or so of the page going up, the trade in values on all the games (and a few more) jumped up to $17 Base trade in value. Which was what it really was, there was no "Oh go in and tell them about the trade 2 promo and hand them 2 select games" the way the accomplished this promo was just to give the amount between the two games, without requiring a purchase of the listed games at all. So while it may sound the same, the one that this thread is about, was pretty much them giving a massive amount of credit for games that they sold for barely more, without having any restriction of purchasing one of the listed games.

The promo going on next week is going to be different I would assume, it will probably require you to have two, and require you to use that gift card on the $59.99 game, which is not that great of a deal and can be done at gamestop right now anyway on ANY $59.99 game.

Since the page with the offer is still up... I feel like I should go in and see if they'll still do this for me.

All the values of the stuff I want to get rid of have dropped back down to like 7-10 bucks each :/

Use my line from the BB weekly ad thread: "hey, this (ad) states I'd get at least $50 for these 2 games...I want my credit"
