I'm curious how this works if they scrap MS points in full prior to GTA 5's launch (which looks to be the case) I would assume it transfers over to 20$ of credit on Xbox Marketplace

Yeah, I remember reading that any Point Codes that you redeem after the update will just translate to the local currency.

 
Does Microsoft charge when they ship or right away?

Edit:  Looking on product page it seems that your card isn't charged until ship.

If I am able to fix my 360 I may jump on this even though I'd rather play it on the unannounced PC version.  Not a bad deal, but yeah it's funny that it's still a MSP promo.

Choose the free shipping option. It's YMMV on whether you get it on release unless they specifically say that they will be getting it to you on release in the product details. For example, Gears of War Judgment specifically said in the product description that if you ordered within a certain time frame you would get it at launch with free shipping option. I don't see that same description for GTA 5, but that just means that they aren't guaranteeing it. That's where the YMMV comes in. All my preorders from MS Store have always arrived on release day with the free shipping option even when they don't specify it in the product description.

 
This seems like a great deal. I have it preordered at Amazon, but they aren't giving anything. Looks like I'll be cancelling that and preordering at MS Store. I'll gladly take the MSPoints as I just spent 2000 to renew the EA season ticket.

 
I jumped on this.  I wasn't crazy about GTA IV but man V is looking really good.  Plus I'm always buying stuff off the market place so this is a solid deal.

 
I have abundantly overflowing MS points right now like most of you, but seems there isn't a better deal anywhere out there.

 
I have a $45 newegg preorder from last year. If there is no tax then this is the better deal. If there is tax I could get this game and 1600 points cheaper by keeping my newegg preorder
 
Good luck getting those points. They screwed me out of them when I preordered AC3 with this same deal. I should have fought them but I hate having to go though CS and jumping though hoops. Never using their pos site again unless something is just cheap no extras promised. One thing I will say though is AC3 did come in quick with their free shipping at the time, took like 2 days.

 
Can confirm they've started shipping. Overnight due tomorrow before 3pm. Really hope we have better experiences than Navex, know a few that used this deal when pre-ordering.

Interesting to note, on my order-history page. It states my order like any normal order. But for a friends states 'pre-order' as if theirs a difference. We shall see.

 
Anyone else got their codes yet?  Today is the 10th business day.  I ended up contacting their support, and my buddy Juan on the other end of the live chat had to escalate my case to get the code sent.

 
Told you guys it wasn't worth it. Did this nearly last year except my email was never sent. I know I should have just went through CS to get them but I hate dealing with those people. I see almost a year later and those morons still can't handle the promotion right.

Sending out an e-mail inquiring about the whereabouts of my code. I'll post when I receive some sort of response.
