I see now. I was looking at the top.

Awesome game, I am actually surprised to see it discounted already. Anyone who is on the fence should grab this right away, Tales games usually don't discount for quite a while.

I'm not at all surprised which is why I cancelled my preorder and waited. The extras are worth 10-15 dollars to me so if everyone was sold out of the LE I would have paid no more than $40 for a vanilla version. Given that ToG is sold out everywhere and is already going for $5 over MSRP used on GS's site, I think this is a good price for the LE.

Last month I got the $10 credit if you buy a $50 gift card offer.  It turns out that the $10 code showed up today and I was able to cancel my order and reorder using it.  Good deal.  Anyone that got that offer last month should check their email.

edit:

This discount has moved the game up to 33rd best selling PS3 game on Amazon.

I just did the same. $40 for Xillia was my price point.

Great game. Finished Milla side and staring Judes side. Worth $60 to me.
Without being all spoilery, is there a major difference between the two that would actually make you want to play through a second time? Also, is it a new game + or are you starting from lvl 1 again?

Glad to hear someone else got it for that price. That discount code couldn't have been more timely.

I am on my 2nd playing (Milla then Jude) and working toward the platinum. There aren't a ton of story differences, but at some moments in the story you see another perspective to the story. There is the standard NG+ for Tales. You earn Grade points throughout the game (each Tales games has you earn them in different ways usually) and then you can spend that for perks for NG+. Such as carry over strong weapons, 5x or 2x (10x combined) experience, things of that nature. But there is not your standard NG+ where you just continue with everything you had at the end of the last game.

Does one version seem like the obvious "first playthrough" version?

I've heard playing Jude's side first gives a bit more perspective on things that happen with Milla's story. Haven't started the game yet myself, hope I have time this weekend.

When did you place the order though? Not sure if I place an order today or this weekend that it will be the Limited Edition
Placed the order in the morning then cancelled it and reordered with my $10 code in the afternoon yesterday. I used the Citi card free 1 day shipping code (this promo is shown on the game's page) as well.

4 of my local gamestops still had 2-3 of these in stock, not so limited after all? The pre-orders never got picked up, as the store manager told me.

It's limited in the sense that it's only the first printing. In other words, no more of the LE version is being made. Any being produced now are the vanilla version. Keep in mind that it took ToG a good year or so to run out of inventory everywhere and it had a sale price of $20 (plus shipping) on Namco's site right before everyone ran out. So these probably won't be out of stock everywhere immediately. You may be able to find these on sale for $40 at some point but most likely it will be the vanilla version at that price point.

There aren't any more in my area. I was looking for one a couple weeks ago and only found one that was a gutted copy. Everything else was the vanilla version at the 4-5 stores I've been to.

Just placed an order from Amazon as it was in my gold box.

What are the chances this is the LE version since the LE description bonuses are still up on the website page?

As I mentioned above, it's the LE for me and I ordered it yesterday. I think they're all the LE until they change the page. If you get a different version complain to customer service.

I got my copy from Amazon... inconveniently shipped in a bubble mailer and damaged, of course. Thanks Amazon.

Heard a lot of good things about this so I put down an order.  Still need to get back to Dragon's Crown, but FML FFXIV is consuming me. . .

I still haven't been able to get to this game, but watching gameplay of it I saw there's this glowing line connecting Jude and Milla during combat.  Is this a constant thing or is it only during certain spells?  I don't know why, but it kind of annoyed me somehow.

For those of you that are buying the CE, I wouldn't expect it to be valuable.  It really does look like a restock and not a bunch of returns.  The page says this now: In stock on September 19, 2013.

The glowing line means they are linked. When two characters are linked there are powerful combo attacks that you can use.

Can anyone confirm if Wal Mart Online has copies of the Limited Edition version?

I went to pick this up finally and it appears I waited a few hours too long on Amazon and it's back to $59. I submitted the Wal Mart price so I'm hoping they lower it again so I can use Amazon credit but if Wal Mart has the Limited Edition at $49.99 I'm not going to chance it and will just go ahead and pick it up.

I'm playing my copy and enjoying it. One thing I really like about tales games that seemed like a bad idea when I played my first is the auto battle option. It's actually really nice since most encounters are completely trivial.

Did you order from WalMart and was it the limited edition?
