The PAL CE is much nicer... but costs a crap ton more (90GBP, which works out to ~$145).

See, I prefer the US one. I hate Figures that are CE pack ins. Good luck even getting the EU one, though. It is EB exclusive in New Zealand and Australia. They won't ship to the US, and they are sold out anyway. In the UK, it is exclusive to shopto.net. They won't ship this item to the US, and they have put a limit 1 per person hold on it. The only way to get it is to have a friend in the UK that doesn't want one for them self.

I also prefer the US version.  I'm not a statue collector and while the Agnes statue does look better than most others I've seen, I just don't think it's worth it to put down an extra $50 (or however much it would cost) for the CE.  All I need is a soundtrack and an artbook, and I'm set.  Hopefully both are decent in this edition.  I don't even care about the AR cards.

 

With that said, I hope to see it posted on Amazon soon.  I have credit and would like to use it towards this.

Any word on which retailers will get this? I know the Nintendo Direct said something like "available at select retailers". I don't want to wait much longer to get my pre-order in on this...Guess I can always cancel it and switch if needed. Still would like to see an update about what retailers will get this at least.

If only I had some GS credit right now.  Just have to wait for the right time to trade some stuff in.  I'll pre-order this and pay it off slowly I guess.  Gameplay and customization look interesting enough to buy in on this one!

Is this still up for preorder? I went into a GS yesterday and tried to preorder and the lady said she couldn't do it in her system. I hadn't seen her before and I go in that store pretty regularly so it's possible that she didn't know what she was doing

I preordered last night at around 7:00 p.m. PST and it went through fine.  It did take the clerk a while to find it in the system, but it was still available.

I would think you could still preorder this as it was just announced. I'll stop by my local GS and see if I can preorder it today. If need be ill try to get the order sku.

Sounds like you are describing Western Shooters not Japanese games/anime. 10x more diversity in Japan.

Even though I don't understand why he was posting about how much he hates JRPG style games in this thread, I have to disagree with you about 10x more diversity in Japan. I find them being pretty much both set in their ways in what kind of characters they spit out. There are always the games that stray away from the stereotype, but both are very guilty of just putting out the same kind of stuff again and again.

The microtransactions haven't done the game any favors among the enthusiast fanbase. You recharge one SP by putting your 3DS to sleep for 8 hours OR you can buy a 3-pack of SP recovery from the DLC shop.

 

And yes, the game mentions the DLC in the tutorials; it's very much a "feature".

they made this version of the game easier than the original.  you never need to use the stuff.  it's for the super casuals.  don't let something that's pointless and optional stop you from enjoying the game :(
