Best Black Friday Deal on a PC Monitor?

I've been waiting all year to scoop up a replacement secondary (or primary if it ends up being better than my current primary) monitor and I haven't seen much in the Black Friday ads. Anyone care to weigh in on the best option? I don't want a junky monitor that doesn't even have HDMI. The best I found was the 27" LG monitor at Best Buy for $189.99. Anyone find something with more bang for my buck? Cheaper is better but if it's garbage I'd rather go with one that is a little more expensive. Newegg has a very similar monitor to the Best Buy one for $10 more and Tiger Direct has a Samsung one for the same price as the Newegg monitor. I don't really see a clear winner here so I'm going to try for the Best Buy one since it's cheaper unless someone has a better suggestion. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

TigerDirect and Newegg probably have early sales on a 27 inchers. I would take a look at their sites. For gaming I would aim for 1080p with 120hz minimum. Overclocking for the 1440p models.

Don't know how powerful your PC is but I think 1440p is the way to go since the Korean models are mostly A grade panels and can be overlocked past 60hz. Plus with Nvidia's G-Sync coming to new monitors it might be the best monitor tech for monitors and become a standard.

How close are you going to be viewing the monitor? You can probably go for a 2ms or 1ms 24" monitor, they are better for twitch games like halo, cod, cs etc. 5ms is okay but might be worse than the 5ms stated as every manufacturer test them differently. Basically 2ms or lower is best nowadays, 5ms use to be the better, and before that it was 8ms.

To sum up 1080p is the minumim. 2ms or lower > 5ms. 60hz or more for refresh rate. LED will give a better picture, in general. Size is up to you and how close you view it.

I think in a year or two we will find 75hz to 120hz IPS displays with 5ms or lower. I think its possible but they are milking the consumers with the lesser IPS models today. Thankfully Korean manufacturers are overclocking panels now for half the price of non-overclockable main brands.. If your interested check out Overlord, Catleap, QNIX etc. Now that the lastest graphics cards do pretty well in 1440p now.

I sit about 2 feet from my monitors now. My rig is 2.5 years old now, but it still runs just about anything with max settings. I have 2 2GB video cards that I raided together and 16GB of RAM, a 2600k i7 processor, a 128GB solid state boot drive, etc. I generally know what I'm doing and I know the differences on refresh rates and so on, was just wondering if anyone saw anything that stood out.
