I have no clue if Amazon offers warranties. Maybe through SquareTrade? Dunno >.>

As for which one, it really comes down to how much you hate wires. I'm not a huge fan of where the wire on the A40 comes out of the headset, but I still went with the A40s in the end.

I'm looking at buying at Amazon, since I have $400 waiting in credit. Where do I get a replacement plan there? And A40s or A50s?
Love my A40s. I've have had em for a few years now and they're good as new.

Solid deal. Great product and company.

A40s are wired and A50s are wireless.

I've been using X31s, so I'm okay with a wire going into the controller, but I'd prefer no long wires heading to the console. I couldn't find a warranty but I believe they come with 1 year warranty for defects, so I should be fine. I treat my stuff nicely, shouldn't be too rough.

But, looking up the facts on the X1 is confusing. Will the adapter that releases in 2014 let Astro A50s use chat?

I guess for $40 extra, combined with the fact that A40s are OOS on Amazon, I'll be going for the A50s. Thanks!

A lot of people hate the built in mic on the A 50's. You have to push it back to mute it and there were a lot of concerns with that breaking and having to send the whole headset back. The A40's on the other hand, the mic just snaps into the right or left ear cup and if it goes bad, you can just get another mic boom. I loved my A40's. Wish I had never got rid of them :(

At first, I thought you meant the the mic literally goes backwards, but it mutes when you snap it back up so the mic isn't in your face. I think that'll be fine with me, and I'm thinking that it looks very useful.

You should be good. I can't speak on every headset out there, but I have had several through the years and none of them gave me the sound the Astro's did. Enjoy!

Ugh, I really want these since everyone has been praising it, but with no real confirmation that the X1 adapter will work with these, I can't do it. Even Astro themselves just gave a very generic statement, saying they're working on it. The game audio works, but chat is the issue here.

Yeah, should've specified that you were asking about Xbox :p I would've been fine keeping the A50 for my PS4, but I get your concerns. I'm not sure how it'd work if MS didn't support USB chat. Like... get the XB1 adapter then plug your controller into the wireless mixamp? That would be fucking terrible.

They're amazing products when they work. I wouldn't say Astro is an amazing company though. They're pretty notorious for having shitty customer service, which is why I would not feel good about buying a 200+ headset w/ no warranty.

There's no way around the long cables running from your console to your headset for the A40. But the cables it does come with are super long, so it's not really an issue. Personally I think the headset itself is above average, but the deal benefit of the A40 system is the mixamp. That thing is well worth the price.

That Thor one is tempting, if the converter for Xbox One was out already I would be more likely to jump on it though

does of these headset support ps4/xbox 1, particularly ps4 with out jumping through loops to get to work for these next gen system.
