Wow walmart.

Anyone know if a Target PM would not allow me to use the 20% off coupon?
I was thinking the same. Price matching then using the 20% coupon. Coupon states not useable on video games, Xbox One and PS4's. One can argue this is a video game console. You will probably get it if you talk politely with a manager if they decline it at first.

They had this out at Target when I bought my Zelda one on Thanksgiving; I had no idea it was a new bundle. Wonder if it was $150 as well.

That coupon isn't valid on video games, VG hardware, Apple products & ect. Read the fine print for more details.
Not true. These are the terms.

Excludes gift cards, iTunes cards, Apple, Bose, all video games, PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox One consoles, Target Mobile(SM), prescriptions, optical, clinic, and alcohol purchases. Offer cannot be combined with other storewide or category/department coupon

NO where does it state video game consoles. It states no Xbox One and PS4. All video games are that just video games not video game consoles.

Can I use a coupon when price matching?
A guest can use coupons when price matching per Target's normal coupon policy. When the guest presents a coupon(s), these steps will be followed:

  •  Manufacturer coupons: manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made.
  •  Target and Cartwheel coupons: Target and Cartwheel coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target and Cartwheel coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price.
  •  Combining both Target, Cartwheel and manufacturer coupons: the Target and Cartwheel coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target and Cartwheel coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.
  •  Reminder: we accept one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item unless either coupon prohibits it. Target does not ad match a competitor’s coupon-required offers.
Straight from Target.com terms and conditions. They do coupon before price matching. The 20% off coupon (if works) would take the console down to $160, which makes it a better deal than Walmart's.

I saw them as well. I tried purchasing one but it wouldn't ring up, the manager told me they couldn't sell it to me before Dec. 2nd.

These don't get released till December 1 or 2nd although some people at Target got it I read for $150.

Anyone have a .com listing for this? have checked several sites and can't find anything.. not even GS has a listing.
I don't understand why, but there really hasn't been an official announcement on this. It started with a target ad scan saying Dec 2 for $199. If you google Mario edition 3ds xl, you should be brought to quite a few blogs about this.. just nothing official from Nintendo. They will probably do it on Monday morning when they update their press release stuff. The Wal-Mart ad is for Dec 1-7, but I'm pretty sure the system won't be available (and able to be scanned?) until Mon Dec 2. Though, it doesn't say that in the ad -_-

Hope that helped.

I saw it as well, but ignored it because of all the hype surrounding the Zelda bundle. Clever girl.

Can't really seem to find much on this like other posters have mentioned, but I am definitely in for one. I didn't have a chance to get the Zelda bundle, so I'll snag this one as I am probably in the few who like the color/design a bit better.

No, I completely agree. I wanted a silver 3DS XL (or purple, but that's not happening.. wahhh :baby: ) and I love the simple design with Mario & Luigi. The design is pretty retro. It just looks really, really nice.

heads up toys r us has it for retail in their weekly ad but with star fox 64 for free...

possible price match from walmart making it 180 with star fox 64?

Thats a fantastic idea, but how often do stores price match free games like this? That would be fantastic, though.

^^not sure which is why I ended with a question mark lol I was hoping someone can chime in who tried to price match something similar

I never did any deal like this but I think it would work out doing it through toy r us...

scan the 3ds xl get it price matched

scan star fox and should be free automatically in their system?

Good idea. I have my doubts it will work, but it's worth a shot. What's the best way of going about it? Getting the 3DS XL + SF64 and checking out at customer service? I have actually never pricematched now that I think of it.

Never going to happen at either TRU or WM without the best of luck.

Once a PM is initiated at TRU any promotions tied to an item get dropped. So you can PM the console to $179.xx but the free game will no longer be attached so therefore Star Fox would ring up at whatever retail is. You would need an override to get it for free. Very unlikely.

WM would be even less likely because they are strict and are going to see that the console is more expensive at TRU.

Tried to purchase this bundle at Target on BF and said they couldn't sell it before Dec. 2. Waited in line for almost 3 hours at electronics to get a 3ds XL and when I was almost at the front, an employee decided to take some of the 3ds and hand them out to those in line. First were the Zeldas (which I passed and wanted to use as a backup in case I couldn't get the Mario) and then I asked for this. Got this one, went to cashier, told me she couldn't sell it, gave me the 20% off coupon and a $3 off coupon for inconvenience. She called manager to try to fix the problem and I asked if I could get the Zelda one instead. Went through a few employees and after waiting about 15 minutes, said that they couldn't find any because they had handed them all out. Was very disappointed and left with 2 coupons and a wasted 3 hours...

thats what I needed to know lol

I might give it a try and see if inventory allows me to get one but since I got the Zelda one I won't be rushing around for this one.

Ouch, buddy. That sucks.

Well, It may not be as unlikely as you may think. After all, TRU isn't friggin' GameStop after all (LOL), where most of the a-hole managers are.

You're right about the TRU system automatically charging for StarFox 64 after the price match is done. However, you can then try to point out the fact that TRU is giving away StarFox 64 anyway, so it should be included since you're buying the console from THEIR store (as opposed to WalMart). You're simply trying to price match WalMart's price for the console, so they ought to do whatever is required to match that price, and ensure that you're getting everything that any "normal customer" not doing a price match will also get, AS WELL as the price match.

However, even after all that, some of the managers at TRU who are still a-holes may deny you, in which case, just take the price match and forego StarFox 64, which accoring to TRU is worth $29.99 (as if!).

BTW, if you got the $10 gift card for spending $75 or more during the Black Friday sale period, you could use that gift card for this purchase as well, therefore making your out of pocket expense just $169.96 plus tax.

It's too bad people can't offer the digital code through this thread since the game comes pre-installed, now no one can go on continuous rants as to how much it shouldn't be posted in here. Anyone have pictures of the inside of the system?

Should I buy these to resell a year from now?

Btw, I think AMEX has a $20 cash back if you spend $79 in Walmart from now till the end of December.

Would've been nice to have known every store would start doing 3DS deals bonanza after I stayed up til 4am to buy my non-bundle XL from Target for $150. $166.49, after taxes and their graciously charging $7 for 10-day shipping.

But enough about that, I hope everyone who jumps on this deal lands safely with this pretty-looking XL in hand.

It's annoying that the ad says Dec 1-7 because it seems like Walmart has not even gotten these in yet and since there is no online listing for this you can't check stock or give employees the item number.

Went to two walmarts and they hadn't seen these come in yet. Anyone else find one?
