$109.00 +  (applicable tax) +  free shipping.

Kinda' hard to find these new at big box retailers since production ended in January of this year.  I've been looking for awhile.  Most resellers are asking around 130-160 on eBay and Amazon.

You can regularly find these at Goodwill for about $10-20

It was $99 and then $69 on my Local Walmart. But now are all Sold Out and didn't manage to get one.

Strangely enough. My mind went to the 12GB PS3 Superslim.

If you're on the market for a PS2 go on eBay. You can find one in good condition with plenty of games for this price.

Yeah, or Craigslist where you can probably haggle someone down to like a dollar.

No one has a problem with it.  I think it's more surprise, at least from me.  I mean, those games look pretty bad on my 1080p tv.  Plus a lot of the older games are actually available for download from the playstation store so I don't see the usefulness of spending 100 bucks on a console that you'll have to fit under your TV somewhere when you could just buy the downloads.

Me as well. That price is way too high even for a new system though. I'd be in for $60 or even $75. Does anyone else have new PS2s for sale?

thanks for the heads up, ignore the haters who dont seem to know the difference between a new or used system. Still though, some of them are right this price is quite high. Id like another backup system but only at about 60-70 bucks probably max.

sealed and new? 2.. and 2 open and in use right now. One on the big screen and one on my old 32" CRT. Wouldn't hurt to have 3 though =P My ps2 library is huge. I dont want to not be able to use it down the road

I regret not getting a gamecube when they were cheap. I picked up a few used ones on ebay but i really wanted a new/sealed one

I really want one but $110 plus taxes kinda pricey for old system.  I'll jump in at $70 price range.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I saw new one in a store for MSRP. As soon as Sony announced they were discounting the system they seemed to disappear from store shelves around here overnight.

Thanks, OP.  Kinda pricey but it may be one of the last chances to snag a new one.  I definitely own way too many PS2 games that I plan to play for a long time to not have a backup... and who knows if they will ever get the emulation right on that thing.

This is what I paid at WM, as their retail price, in May 2008. They certainly ought to discount it since you'd be clearing out shelf/warehouse space for them. :|

Edit: Looks like this is an original PS2, but I'm still surprised to see how high they sell for.

just get one used off craigslist for < $25

you could get a new one converted to used at Gamestop. dunno if they allow you to inspect the unit before buying. if so, you can easily tell if the unit is brand new or not.

The point of this is that it's brand new and you can barely find a new sealed one. Finding a used one is obviously easy to do.

FYI. I have this model (97706); its power adapter is integrated into the unit (i.e. no power brick).

Simple fix! Sony just needs to upload all the PS2 classics to PSN and allow them to be played on the Vita! DQ VIII, Rogue Galaxy, FF XII, RE4... man oh man. Screw remote play with PS4. Give the Vita the ability to play PS2 games.

It's hard to believe they still sell the PS2 in Walmart, it's even harder to believe they sell it for 109 dollars! Pretty pricey for such old hard ware.
