Nintendo 2DS for $99.00 @Walmart.com

I actually dig the 2DS. It's comfortable to hold and I wouldn't miss the 3D-effect. But those colors... how ugly. Can't bring myself to buy one and then attempt to sell my XL to make a profit.

 
$100 to be able to play 3DS games and not have to deal with the 3D?

Maybe...What sort of dimensions does something like this have?

It's a wonderful doorstopper. IMO it's really ugly. My friend has one. There's plenty of room for a bigger screen. But I guess Nintendo will take care of that when the inevitable 2DS XL gets announced
 
got one for my nephew for xmas. Never had a ds or any iteration what superhero games are good on the system?

edit: a quick question. I know the 2ds can play 3ds games but do the 3ds games look better?

^^ This. I guess this device is OK for kids, but for anyone else its a waste of money. Has the original tiny 3DS screens, only one speaker, bulky and awkward shape (for portability/transport), and looks like a cheap Fisher Price toy. Because the XL is discounted frequently, I don't see why anyone remotely serious about gaming would even consider this.

Scribblenauts Unmasked would be my pick. You encounter all the DC Comics greats and you can write any of 2000 DC characters to help you solve the puzzles. If your nephew can read or write, I'd go with that. It took me 11 hours to finish the story mode on Wii U, but the game just continues by giving you random puzzles once it ends.

$129.99. I bought one from Walmart.com on Black Friday for the $99 price, which was good since they sold out faster than the iPad minis at my local store that night.
