DayZ Standalone Thread

I am thinking about picking this up, and I understand it's in early stages and expect bugs\broken game play. That being said, is it worth the time?

 
I've been watching Frankie's youtube vids and it looks fun. Should I get the mod version or early alpha? I know there's bugs and glitches and whatnot but is there enough CAG's to play with as well. Assuming time permits? I'm on PST. 

 
I was going back and forth between grabbing this or Rust. I Finally picked Day Z up, though haven't had time to play yet. I'm on EST, so if people jump on let me know. Steam name is jedipimping.
