Yep, it's only $5 towards other Amazon App Store purchases. They also gave me a $1 mp3 credit.

Download a app that is free from the gecko and you won't need credit card info. If you DL a game that was discounted to free you'll need credit card info. I think the $5 dollar amazon credit has no expiration.

The mp3 credit has to be used by January 31, 2014 and I'm pretty sure when I received a notification on my tablet about the app credit that it had to be used by March 31, 2014.
