I do and I'll post a link for proof. I have both 2K and NBA Live and both have faults but NBA Live is enjoyable if you learn to play it. Also, EA is working on a few patches after the New Year to improve the animation, graphics, gameplay, etc. They already released a patch and it improved the mid-range shooting and also the rebounding. I personally like it.

I'll probably pick it up to try it and because I aim to have all the launch games in my library. When it works, I love NBA 2k14. The past day with the server issues have got me frustrated for sure, though.

 
I'm getting Live but not because of 2K shitty servers, crappy updated rosters, fuck ed up association(mygm), and crappy new menu. I always grab Live so this year won't be any different.

Every year they released them. Last one was Live 10 then Elite 11 which got canned then a hiatus for 12 then they were supposedly going to release 13 as a download only until it was canned. I meant every year they dropped one, so technically it hasn't been different seeing how I never passed buying one.
 
As bad as 2K Sports has botched/gimped the PS4/XBOne versions of NBA 2k14, that's still not enough to get me to purchase the awful NBA Live 14. The gameplay is downright dreadful.

 
It also pissed me off when these game companies release what is basically an unfinished game, then try to go back later and fix/add different aspects of the game. Treyarch is trying to go back and fix Ghosts, which many people say is the worst COD game ever. Test this sh!t out before releasing it!

Yeah I agree but I think EA just wanted to get the game out for launch. I have faith they will patch it up to make it better. But even now at its current state, I truly am enjoying the game.

It's a horrible game.

The servers are shit in 2K but the gameplay shits on Live. There's a reason this has dropped in price and 2K is still full price.

 
I have 2k and Live and can say Live is not good at all. This I coming from someone who played more NBA Live 10 than any game I have ever owned.
Live 14 looks very bad.the passing is horrible and there is no post game. There is no practice mode so running plays is very thickly to learn even if you wanted to invest the time.
The dribble moves are ok and the pick and roll control is actually very good. Past that nothing else makes the grade.
The only person that should buy this game is either someone who is such a hardcore hoops fan that they will play anything that lets you bounce a ball or a fanboy who hopes their blind support will be enough for EA to release Live 15.

I have 2K and I'm a 2K person but I just want to buy Live even though I know it couldn't be in the same conversation as 2K.

This is basically me:
Live 97 - Live 09 = Live>2K
2K10 - Now = 2K>Live
I've bought every 2K since 2k1 and until 2009(2K10/Live2010) it was Live over 2K. I always still got love for Live so I'll buy just because I never missed one and I won't stop now.

Yeah this truly is one of the worst launch games ever put out. I was so pumped for it since they were only focusing on next-gen yet they managed to shit the bed big time. I'm pissed that 2K gutted the next-gen version of so many features, but in no way should that make Live more appealing. There's a demo for Live out there if nobody believes all of us who have played both.
 
Live sucks. But the 2k fanboys need to pipe down. The 2k devs are absolute idiots that just care about taking your money. Do ya'll actually think they are trying to fix their cheap ass servers? And the gameplay isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be. The rebounding system is horrendous and three pointers go in like layups even if you got 3 dudes in the shooters face. The passing is broken, too. Can't tell you how many times I had someone wide open but the pass went to someone else. I'm finna upload this montage on all this dope

Back on topic, I have Live to and it reminds me of 2k. I highly doubt EA will even come out with roster updates for it.

I feel like 2k has been better since NBA 2k. There hasn't been a year since then that 2k wasn't better when it came to gameplay. 2k online has always been bad(although the original games on seganet was amazing but that is just nostalgia speaking and the excitement at the time), but I play enough local multiplayer in these games to not care about online being bad. Live feels like a game that the developers have no interest in. I don't know if any of them have played basketball in the past 10 years, let alone watched any basketball based on the animations, the way the game behaves, etc. For a few years(between the end of the PS2/Cube/Xbox generation and beginning of the past gen) I preferred buying Live only because it was available on PC and the modding community made up for a lot of the short comings.

I agree but NBA Live 10 was really good. Mike Wang's presence from 2K was evident. I do still think 2K14 is better overall but I think Live can catch up in a couple more years. I honestly want to support EA so that 2K can have some competition. Same reason I hope that 2K can make football games again although ironically, I think M25 on next-gen was a nice surprise and actually made a good transition.

My biggest problem with 2K14 is how we have to be online to play MyCareer. With their terrible servers, it makes the game unplayable unless you like just quick games. But the other problems I have is the long issue with the passing and how the AI tips passes all the time and how someone else mentioned, when you make a pass in a direction, it goes another. This is where I think NBA Live does well. I honestly think their passing is better.

 
If the price was like $5-$10, I would buy it, but at $31.99, not touching it with a 20 foot pole, but thanks op.

Yikes.  Have you guys seen the reviews for NBA Live 14?  Ugly.

Worst reviewed game on PS4 and Xbox One when you average all reviews on game rankings.  I tend to trust Gamespot and they only gave the PS4 version 4 out of 10.  And the PS4 version was actually higher rated at 48%.  The Xbox One version is (gulp) 35%.

Is it really better than 2K14?  2K14 is rated so much higher and I already have it on PC.  Is it worth spending $39 on either Xbox One or PS4?  Love the Live series and excited to see it back, but its hard to pull the trigger in light of all the bad reviews.

You could of just checked the BB ad thread, as it shows the NBA Live sale.

If this was under $10 I'd consider playing it, but I know I'll just be disappointed and put in 2k instead. EA should do us all a favor and just can the Live series completely, and bring us a new NBA Street.

OMG! I love that idea. I've been missing NBA Street Vol. 2 for the longest time since I don't have a PS2 anymore. My favorite street basketball game of all time.

Yeah I played the demo of this game -- not for me.  2k just so much smoother.  Thanks for posting OP...and a huge +1 that EA should focus on NBA and NFL Street -- those games were epic!

even though i don't like live, i agree that competition is better. just imagine if 2k still made EA compete in the NFL market, we might actually have worthwhile football games every year

 
My 8 year old nephew enjoyed. That's about the only kind of gamer hat COULD enjoy this pile of horse manure.

If you know ANYTHING about basketball, playing this game will make your ears bleed.

There's absolutely no spacing, contesting a shot (defense in general) is nonexistent, player models look PS2ish, shot animations are very similar, play calling doesn't exist and overall just feels clunky.

The net and presentation are good. That's about it.

Do yourself a favor and avoid playing this. Do NOT support EA for pushing this garbage out just to get a quick buck from suckers who were loose with their wallets with the new systems coming out.

Blah. I just have a bad taste in my mouth even thinking of this sad excuse of a game.

Some of these comments make me wonder if some of you have even played the game or gave it a real chance. There definilty is play calling and post moves in the game. Once you learn how to play the game it's enjoyavble.

 
This game is crap, but doesn't hold a candle to the gem: Fighter Within. That's the game I'm waiting to blow $10 on.
