Die Hard 25th Anniversary (5 Disc Blu-Ray Collection) BBY-$12.99

I could care less about the reviews. Couldn't pass up 4 films for $13!
Sold out before I could add free shipping filler! I suppose it's not too big a loss; the fifth disc is a bonus disc, not the fifth movie, so you're only getting the first four films, which were sold individually for $3.99 at WM on BT, and I passed them all up then, and it looks like this collection has those awful cardboard sleeves that are so popular among complete collections, even by manufacturers/studios who should knw better (HBO).

Those who missed this do have a decent consolation prize: the Terminator Anthology for $14.99.

Does that have the same type of cardboard sleeves?

Can't say for sure, especially since there's been more than one release of this anthology, but it looks like at least some (perhaps all?) of these are the original standalone cases enclosed in a slipcase/box.

If it is cardboard sleeves, there's always this option:

I bought some for my Deadwood, Spartacus, and Indiana Jones sets. They're really good; they feel stronger and sturdier than normal cases. The only downside is I haven't found a good place to find/download/print good inserts for them.

How about for DVDs? Cause I am sure that I can get 3-4 DVDs worth of mileage out of some sturdier casings for my Spartacus sets...but I have Once Upon a Time box sets that are DVD-sized casings, but hold 5 DVDs on those annoying double-sided pages.

I picked one up in store not too long ago. Also the Star Wars complete saga is only $60 and Rome complete series is $28!
I'm seriously considering picking up Star Wars Complete Saga. I'm not sure yet. I don't have any Star Wars in my Blu-ray collection.

Have they ever released a set that contained the original cuts of the original trilogy on blu ray?
No, all current sets only have the altered versions. Lucas said he will never release them, but the sale to Disney might have altered that, though while Disney probably has the will (their release would mean big moolah for them), there are rumors that the original negatives of the unaltered films are "missing" or retained by Lucas to ensure his preferred versions are the only ones available. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but if anyone know more, chime in!

The only time the original cuts made an appearance in small disc format were the (now valuable) second DVD sets which contained them as special features are allegedly transfers of either the VHS or laser disc versions, They are non-anamorphic and not remastered, and probably look like crap on a modern TV.

I couldn't help myself!  O:)

I dunno...the last two die hard's didn't do much for me.  The first three were pretty good...but after 9/11 I think most people find it difficult to see buildings being blown up, parts of NYC being blown up, airplanes being blown up and so on.  With all the post DH movies Willis has made, I don't see why we need to see more John McClane.

Plus Willis is just sleepwalking through these sequels now. The last two movies he was playing John McClane in name only.

I enjoyed the fourth movie. Plus, it seemed to do something right if we got that horrid fifth flick. But I think owning all four movies and pretending A Good Day to Die Hard never happened is a fair choice.

Waiting for the effing CSR to pickup so I can see if I can get Terminator, Underworld, and Die Hard before work today. $43 for a whole lot of movies ain't bad, even on Blu-Ray.

Update: Alright. Place by my work has 2. Got the CSR to help me out by setting one aside cause of the broken in-store pickup on the site. So, going in there shortly to pick up that and Underworld. Will figure out by the time I get up there if I want Terminator.

It's easy with anime. Worst case is you can do blank paper and say "This is my complete set of such and such in a smaller and better case". =P

They didn't look bad really. I didn't mind them at all. I got those dvds when they first came out only because of the original cuts being in them.

I just want a good blu ray set with all the movies in them and the original cuts. I'd have bought that complete saga set in a heartbeat if it had them. I'm hoping when the new movie comes out disney might give us a proper set. If not then ill just watch that dvd set for the original trilogy.
