I just returned my Xbox One and they had 1 Day One Edition so I bought it.  Video game consoles is not excluded on this deal right?  I should get 2000 Reward zone points.

I've done these promos a ton you get ALL BONUSES on top of the 5x
5X base promo pts
+ the 25% of the base for elite plus
+ the 2x RZ pts on games for GCU
+ the bestBuy credit card perks

Buying $36 of games would get you $5 in rz not including elite or elite plus

If you buy 1 $200 visa you get the entire amount including the $5.95 fee thus 205 base rz pts

Buying 17 $200 visa`s would be 17,505 base rz pts($350) - $101.15 in fees(there`s no tax) so $248 back
If you`re already elite plus add $15 + 125 leftover pts to the $350

PSN/XBL/Itunes cards all earned the bonuses on the other 2x or 3x promos. Buying BB GC`s should get no pts

Also, you should be buying the visa`s 1st on purchases $400+ anyways then take the rz certs in 2 weeks to reduce your cost on the actual item(s) unless there`s a sale.

If you`re buying a system or other big ticket items
here`s the base rz pt payback not including elite/elite plus/GCU

$400 PS4 = 2000 rz pts $40 in RZ - $11.90 in fees
$500 XB1 = 2500 $50 - $17.85
$800 = 4000 $80 - $23.80
$1000 = 5000 $100 - $29.75
RZ certs also affect the taxable amount of your purchase

Yes, but you would have to buy 5 of them as the most you can put on one card is $200 for a flat activation fee of $5.95.

If you are already elite plus and use BBY card (assuming the 5x points works) you should get about $144 worth of points for only about $30 in activation fees. Of course the $1000 on the BBY card needs to be paid off in 1 billing cycle or you will have interest charges that negate the deal.

You would also get credit of $1,029 towards the $3500 needed to qualify for Elite Plus again in 2014.

I'm already EP until 2015 I think. And I pay all my CCs before they are due to avoid interest. I don't see this as "needless spending". I'm going to trade those prepaid visas for gift cards to gas station, grocery store, etc, and use them for my regular expenses. I hate using PP cards by themselves because I ALWAYS get the cashier that doesn't understand them when you buy something over the remaining value. That $1000 would have been on my CC anyway this month. ($700 a month on groceries and baby stuff with twins!)

Cool.

I'll break it up as another example for the thread:

5 $200 cards, bought with BB card and elite plus:
1025 base x 5= 5125
Elite plus 25 % bonus = 252
Credit card BB purchase over 400 = 3x points(over base, so subtract base) 2050

Total of 7427 points. 29 certs and some change. $145

Looking to use the $40 in GC I got from a week ago on the after Christmas sale (buy $100+, get $15; buy 2 games, get $25). If I buy another game and use the $40 in GC towards that, would I get 5x points on the whole amount, or just the difference, after GC?

Diff after GC.

So - I am confused about something - does purchasing stuff with the Visa Reward Cards make the system think your spending actual money?

If so, don't you only essentially have to spend $1750 for Elite Plus?

Huh? Are you referring to the myBB MasterCard?

No, the pre-paid Visa Cards.

Edit:

Essentially in my grand scheme is to buy $1750 in Visa cards that I will eventually spend on media purchases anyway this year. Then just doing all my shopping thru Best Buy to obtain Elite + status without spending nearly $3500.

The 1750 will go toward your myBB status. those cards are not tied into your best buy account theyr are like any other prepaid card. If you use them entirely at BB this year that would get you to 3500

Still not my question.

Haha, what I am saying is this:

I essentially spend $1750 in store on the cards. Turn around, spend the $1750 tied into the cards on items within the store. (Essentially getting double credit for only paying once. IE: 1750 + 1750 = $3500)

Just saw your edit 6er.

There`s no pt double dip wth the visa`s if you buy a $200 card with cash you won`t get pts for using the card in BB.
There`s only one way to get pts both ways but you pay fees on both ends however this promo is worth it
You gotta turn $1750 in visa to $1750 in walmart GC`s then the walmart GC`s to walmart visa`s which would then earn like cash in BB. Walmart reps are dumb and will tell you that you can`t be the system will allow it. Do a test run at walmart since it can be a pain with the wrong staff. Their system only allows for the cards in an transaction so there`s no way for it not to stand out. Do a $25 card 1st and omce it`s thru do $500 ones. I keep the receips from previous times that way the cashier just shuts up and moves the line. If you can do it fast you could bounce from BB to walmart and back to BB to make an actual item purchase like a console getting 10x pts plus in 2 weeks the pts will pay for games.

There`s really only one way to get rz pts from BB gc`s but it takes 2 steps & you pay fees going and coming so you gotta make sure it`s worth it. Convert the BB GC`s to visa`s, use the visa`s to buy walmart GC`s and use the walmart GC`s to get walmart visa`s. The walmart visa`s earn pts like cash. The walmart visa`s have to be the ones with barcode activation not swipe/slide, the fee on a $500 card is $5 or $6. You can get the $25, $50 or $100 visa`s also but the fees on $100 are so high.

^Thanks Enuf, but that seems to be too much work.

(Would spend more in gas doing it that way as I don't have the full $1750 up front to do it. - Not including the fees.)

For $1750 in a short time frame you gotta be a beast, know what you`re doin and/or have a walmart/BB close together. Princeton NJ area, levittown/Oxford Valley PA(Bensalem PA walmart makes you buy cards at CS but the system still allows it), King.of Prussia PA, Willow Grove PA, Norristown PA, NE Phila Rooselvelt blvd area and Christiana mall/wilmington DE/Elkton MD(near University of DE) are where BB`s + walmart are super close. I drive for a living and frequent all of these stores thru all 4 states all are pretty good. The Walmart`s are well walmartish lol but as always knowing the staff helps a ton. And with most of them being 24 hrs time can be on your side.

As the saying goes, have to spend money to make money.

I'd be all over this under normal circumstances, but our daughter turns 2 tomorrow. Too much party prep to do. My wife will kill me if I leave her high and dry to cycle a bunch of gift cards and prepaid visas. :-|

I was wondering about the double dip scenario, thanks for clarifying it won't work w/o the Walmart transactions.  Makes sense that the register would identify the Visas as coming from BB and thereby not allowing for RZ double dip.

This is sort of tempting as BB and Walmart are in the same shopping center in a couple of areas (Milpitas and Blossom Hill).  I only need $1k to get to elite plus.  As I recall, for old silver members, we only had to get to $2500 to "renew" to elite plus next year.

Did you check your amount spent towards $3500 for an Elite Plus member? Since it is in a calender year, it would have reset now.

ah crap, you're right.  My $1500 is gone.... Fuck  Oh well, I thought it went from Feb to Feb as the note in the column indicates I'm elite plus until Feb 2014.  Oh well, then if I do this this week, would it automatically toss me into elite or elite plus or do I have to wait out until 2015?

Is there any maximum amount limit that can be spent in a given transaction?

I felt like I remember reading in one of your post that we would need to go to the register 17 times (since they allow to buy only one VISA per transaction or something like that). Not sure if it was to bundle with some other deal!

Also, if I apply for a BB Credit Card, what is the amount limit of the card they usually give?

Is it based on your Credit Score? Applying for a Credit Card just to get one with a limit of $300-$500 will defeat the purpose of getting it in first place for this scheme.

there`s no limit
My girl wants me to go back out in this cold/snow to cash out $5000....seriously debating it since the rz pts would fully pay off a PS4, 1 yr PS+ and games and 5x pts is a promo that I`ve never seen before. Decisions, decisions.

Multiple trips only comes up for those who don`t have all the cash upfront. Your credit score decides the BB credit limit.

Actually, the easiest way to max this deal double dip or not is to buy the cards using any credit card(hopefully it`s a rewards card) then use the visa`s to pay off the card. Maxing out your CC w/o risk of interest, getting a free yr of elite plus AND most importantly return to BB in 2 weeks and get the deal of the yr
a PS4 for $136 in 2014 not 2018/2019
a XB1 for $236
a wii-u for $35
a free PS3/PS Vita/X360/3DS

My cousin just made the decision for me he`s getting $5,000 in visa`s since BB is right near him using his rewards credit card. I`ll give him $4,000 in cash, $1000 walmart GC and $100 BB gc win, win win.

Where exactly are you getting those cost numbers for the consoles? Didn't you ever learn to show your work?
