Mario and Luigi Edition 3DS bundles are taking over ebay.

They were $150 numerous times, as recent as last week at Walmart. People probably trying to profit since they're "limited"

I'll happily help them lose money then lol
It will take a few more weeks before the prices of Nintendo 3DS XL consoles rebound.... anytime you have soccer mom retailers (i.e. Walmart / Target) put an item out at a ridiculous good price it's easy money for hoarders, resellers and thrill seekers (you know... the idiots that just want to sell something for like $1 profit even if it means they lose $20 after fees).

Price of these will rebound eventually. They always do.

Local Target had about 10 of those, oddly for $220 though. I think alot of people were hoping theyd end up like the Pikachu 3DSXL.

I bought one of these and one of the Zelda ones at $150, and opened this one. The M&L is definitely less "limited" than the Zelda and especially the Pikachu one, but in a few months, I expect it to still get around $200.

I did the same during the sales. Bought one of each for $149.99 and opened the M&L bundle. Zelda is to collect.

A lot of people did that though. I think the Zelda XL bundle is going to be in circulation a whole lot more then the original 3DS Zelda bundle.

A lot of people did similar things.

True. Definitely agree on the thrill seekers, I have a friend like that. He's worse though since he usually ends up losing money and not even making a dollar or two profit. Although I tend to label the people who buy this kind of stuff just to resell it nearly a year later for a mere $50 profit idiots too. Waiting nearly a year for such a small profit doesn't constitute to me as a smart but whatever, people do what they want. If they had multiples that would be one thing but in that case they wouldn't be idiots but asses for buying out the stocks.

It wont end up like pikachu xl. The pikachu was a rare production here in the us. Heck, only walmart and target carried then and most stores only got around 3-5 units of them and nothing more. For zelda and mario xl ones not so much. Nintendo made tons of these for the christmas season to milk soccer moms and fanboys.

If you had to call one rare, I think that would be the Animal Crossing one. I think that was only available at GameStop. I gave a Pikachu 3DS XL to my 6 year old daughter, shows how much I care of it's aesthetic value. O_O

Value wise Pikachu is the most. Mainly because it was very limited in production.

Mario and Luigi bundle is a dime a dozen.

Zelda bundle was 219.00 MSRP + sales tax = what it cost on amazon new now. Though this is in high demand and I do predict prices will raise some.

I originally wanted the Pikachu bundle the most. But I'm happy having both the other limited editions.

I love my Pikachu 3DSXL story, there was already about 6 inches of snow on the ground and it was like a freakin blizzard outside. Drove like 15mph all the way to Target. Ended up grabbing the only 3 they got because XLs just happened to be on sale that weekend for $160. Sold all 3 for $300-$330 a piece....not bad for risking my life!

Missed out on the Animal Crossing one. Sold a Pokemon X one at cost. And the Zelda one was just to bling bling to not keep so I sold my blue XL to my sisters boyfriend and kept the Zelda one.  The Mario and Luigi one I didnt bother getting.

I'll say what everyone is thinking. You sir are a hoarding asshole. Kindly go play in traffic.

The big reason these are in huge supply is that a lot of Targets still had them in stock during the - here's 10% off "sorry for our fuck up" sale. They were already on sale for $150, but the extra 10% kicked that down to $135 and if you had a Red Card you got another 5% off. I think a lot of people saw this as an opportunity to make some "good" money (it wasn't).

I wasn't ever planning to upgrade to an XL, but couldn't resist picking up the M+L one during that sale. Got it for $138.xx after tax - sold my original 3DS for $140. I'd say I made out pretty good. :)

I love when people act like they would just leave stuff they knew they could make money on just so someone else can have it..........BS!!

I have a job that pays me, I don't need to leech off of others, if I wanted to I could have purchased more from TRU but I didn't because I only needed one. The only big part about your name is showing how big of an asshole you can be.

LOL I knew someone would make a comment about a job. "I have a real job so making extra money on the side is something Id never do".......SAID NO ONE EVER! I could win the lottery and still have the itch to flip items if I saw the opportunity. You can call me an asshole or whatever you want, Ill just laugh it off because I know a lot of people around here flip items they buy as well. "I bought 1 for myself and 2 to flip or trade"- see this alot. I bought 3 from 1 store, I didnt drive around to every store in a 20 mile radius like the PS4 and Xbox One resellers.

I got one at target for $135 right before Christmas (actually $130 since I had a $5 off coupon). Planning to sell in a couple months once this eBay flood is over with.

Correct me if I'm wrong but were you not the person calling out others on the simple fact on profiteering vs leaving stuff for others? Your just a bottom dweller, have fun working at the library, I bet your rolling in the money working there. You'll leave your parents house in no time and move away from that small podunk town of yours.

I own a fairly successful company, teach at a local community college, and I still flip things for profit. I currently have a combined income that is ~$12k higher than my friends, whom are all software engineers at financial institutions. I am not a bottom feeder nor am I at a dead end job or living with my parents. I find reselling games fun and it gives me the opportunity to buy and sell a lot of cool stuff. I also end up finding a lot of really great items for my personal collection. There's no difference between what I do and what a store does, aside from them throwing money away on retail space.

I love games - playing them, making them, buying them, reselling them. What I do is an extension of my genuine love for the hobby.

I don't buy into stupid flips, though - I won't put $150 down to make $200 in a few months. I tend to only buy things I can flip for at least twice what I paid or more - most of the things I buy flip for 5 - 10 times the amount I paid. I just found 14 copies of a DVD worth $60 this weekend for $5 a piece. After all is said and done, two hours of work will have made me ~$700. It's stupid to say that isn't worth it, and if morals come into question here - I'd say there's a better than 75% chance some other reseller would have gotten to them if I didn't buy them.

To whomever said it, I wouldn't fit in better at SlickDeals. Those are the kind of people who jump at an opportunity to make a single dollar. They also don't care about games or the hobby of gaming. That's important to me, and CAG fits me a hell of a lot better than SD.

I hope they are not knockoffs for your sake, I think your setting your profits a little to high as well when they sell for around $30 shipped brand new on eBay.

Let me ask you this, you say your love for gaming is genuine... Would you have left a Pikachu 3DS for someone else to enjoy and love or horde them all to sell for profit? Then ask yourself if your still not a bottom feeder, you can then see where I'm coming from.

On the DVDs: If they're knockoffs then they've really gotten good at it. I've got an opened copy and the new ones I bought are a 1:1 match - these particular DVD sets have a foil coating on the package and some raised (stamped in) artwork. Judging by the other bootleg DVD's I've seen, this kind of stuff would be hard to match this well. I'll be selling these on Amazon, where the price for a new copy is closer to $60 - even if I list them on eBay, I'll still gravitate more towards the Amazon prices. In any case, even selling them for $30 is an incredible profit for the time involved (and I enjoy what I do, so it doesn't really feel like or qualify as work for me).

On the Pikachu 3DS: No, I wouldn't have - mainly because I don't like dropping $150 - $200 for something to resell (unless I could easily double the money after the fees). I tend to flip stuff from pawn shops, flea markets, and thrift stores - not big box retailers (the profit is rarely there).

Even if the profit was lucrative, I'd probably leave one behind if the retailer had more than 2 in stock but I'm not fooling myself into thinking I left it for someone to enjoy. The truth is, the next person in line is probably just another reseller. I've been doing this since 1999 and over the past few years online resale has exploded. Resellers are everywhere (I can't walk into a Goodwill without seeing someone with a barcode scanner), and while I can't prove anything, I'd bet most of the deals you've left behind over the years have just gone to people like me or juangrande.

In any case, there's been several instances over the last few years where I've given up deals to people who really wanted the games I was about to buy. In 2007 when FFVII was selling for insane prices, I gave someone at a Play N Trade the copy I was about to buy (for $15) because it was clear they really wanted it. I've done this with other games, including surrendering a $20 Suikoden II. :( The difference here is that I won't just blindly leave a game behind thinking it will go to someone who will appreciate it more. I'll gladly pass it up if I know that is the case, but I'm too pessimistic to really believe if I just leave it behind some other reseller won't grab it.

But no, I don't think bottom feeder is the right term. I feel like that term should be reserved for con-men, scam artists, and swindlers. The kind of people that knowingly take advantage of people. We buy and sell items just like any other legitimate business, and everyone else has just as fair a chance to get a hold of the items we sell. One of the things I've noticed with CAG over the years is that a lot of people only seem to want things once they know it's rare. One good example is Xenoblade - every Gamestop had copies of the game for months and Nintendo's online shop had it too. Suddenly, it becomes rare, and the people buying it to resell it are evil. There was ample time to buy the game, it is not the reseller's fault if someone didn't take the opportunity to buy it.

Another example: I had several opportunities to pre-order the Animal Crossing 3DS (it was available on Gamestop's site for several months), as did eveyone else here - why is juangrande evil if everyone had a fair shot at buying one?

I did not mean to type that much text - got a bit carried away. Not trying to start an internet argument here, despite the wall of text saying otherwise. Just needed a lot of words to explain how I feel. It's also totally off-topic, so I understand if the mods want to roll through and delete everything. :)

I don't want to drag this further than it has, I understand that there will always be resellers, regardless what I feel. I've done some flipping but never to the extremes, I've even gone way out of my way to help others here with out a single thank you. Which is one of the reasons I no longer do it, my time isn't worth the trouble involved.

If he didn't come out gloating which I'm sure a lot of people would agree he did it would have never have come to this, he asked a question and I answered it. There are people out there who don't need to profit off of others, and I'm one of them. Can I do it sure but I don't need to. I guess thanks for all the insight in your life but that's just not me and I really don't worry about the person after me.

Only place I've seen the Zelda XL's still are limited Walmart's. GL finding them anywhere other than EBay.

Even though people got the bundle during the Target sale for $149.99 the MSRP on the Zelda bundle is $219 while the Mario and Luigi bundle is $199.99.

It's on amazon right now for $236 shipped.

Its cheaper to buy it on amazon now then for those who paid MSRP plus sales taxes. CA sales tax would bring it to $238 I know because I paid full price the day before the sale knowing I was getting the last bundle in the area. Went back Sunday the start of the sale and got price adjusted. Then I went back on the last day of the sale and bought the Mario and Luigi bundle to open and play.
