Best Buy DOTD (1/16): MLB 13 The Show PS3 $19.99

I feel like this was $19.99 somewhere several months ago while the 2013 season was in the early stages. Maybe I'm wrong and it was $29.99 but regardless it was a very good price at the time and better then $19.99 months after the season ended.

I really want this but I'll wait to get MLB 14 for PS4 on release day. Drooling at the thought of some next gen Baseball.
I was really excited from the early stuff they showed but apparently they're going to be pushing the microtransaction currency even harder and making it a universal currency like in NBA 2K (which is just awful if you're not going to be buying in-game money). Definitely waiting for some solid feedback on if that breaks progression as much as it did in this year's NBA 2K.

Whoa! I didn't know about all that. Maybe I'll wait to see how much they implemented that into the game. I know 2K is ridiculous with that VC crap, I have to pay for everything in MYGM aka Association. I get 650 a game since I play on 8 min quarters but man that still isn't enough for nothing. I refuse to shed out more money for stuff that should be free.

I know, that and the online problems they were having have pretty much put me off the game. Combine that with at the same time discovering the app for the game, spending like two hours playing the card game thing and then it crashing and never successfully launching again despite reinstallation. Haven't touched either since.

Been debating if I should just go ahead and trade it while I can get $30 for it (same as I paid) but I also know that I'll probably want to go back to it around playoff time and it will still be $60 MSRP.

You'll get more if you turn the difficulty up. I make close to 1,000 vc a game in myplayer. They also have given out a bunch of free vc through - I've probably had 4-5 codes giving me 25,000 vc.

Association/mygm doesn't give extra VC for difficulty just the higher the Qtr minutes the more VC. I have used all the Locker Codes for more VC and that still isn't enough.

Still broken when a single stat point quickly costs 1,000 VC in most categories, VC is shared across all game modes, and it's needed to do simple things like set your lineup. The amount you get is terribly slanted against the player and it's all just very shady which is a shame because the game still plays wonderfully on the court, looks great on PS4, and the blacktop pickup games are really neat the one time they've actually worked.

Wait...what? Do you have to do them to play this game? I was also interested in 14 on the PS4. This gives me pause as well to look into it.

I didn't realize that myGM turned into that. Ever since NBA 2K had myCareer, I've haven't touched myGM which is strange considering that was literally all I played a few years back. I think development really focused on myCareer instead of myGM since it is a pretty popular game mode.
