Depends who you get to do the match. I got many items matched that were out of stock but the guy checking thought they were in stock.

But yeah, their policy is it has to be in stock.

 
If you're using a website to price match, it might continue to say it's in stock in store past when it actually runs out of stock, so act fast if you know a store has run out but still shows online as in.

Also some employees may not check stock, or some stores' computers don't display location data correctly, leading them to not bother to check stock either. But yea the policy does say it has to be in stock *technically.

Not really. I've tried multiple times in the past to get them to price match an item that wasn't in stock. They repeatedly told me it had to be in stock, or they couldn't do it.

I remember trying to price match a game I wanted that EB had for cheap, but were out of stock. Best Buy and Futureshop wouldn't price match unless it was in stock.

Just remember that different regions have different standards. Even different stores that are essentially across the street from each other have different ways of doing things. They "should" all be doing it the same way. I can tell you stores in Montreal are all very different, and having visited Vancouver I can tell you the BBs and FSs there have different management styles there as well.
 
Even within the same store, standards can vary wildly. For example I've been told numerous times by BestBuy that they don't pricematch Amazon (or if they do they add express shipping or whatever bull they feel like). The other day I wandered in wanting some cheap speakers, showed them an Amazon price and they didn't even blink at it and gave it to me. Unless you're in a rush or something it never hurts to ask.

 
I was able to price match at Best Buy.  Oddly enough, it reduced the games to $33.99, not $32.49, like I expected.  I didn't bother looking into it, though.

RedFlaggers are reporting that this price is for all/most PS4 games including Tomb Raider DE where in stock.  Haven't been to a Target myself yet to confirm.

Hmm, lots of people reporting that they were able to purchase other games at 34.99, and photos posted of pricetags and receipts all throughout the thread... Probably worth checking at least, if I have time this weekend I'm going to swing through my local Target and see if there's anything worth getting.

Well that's BS then. I was just at the Target in Dartmouth an hour ago and they had Need for Speed, NBA, Madden, FIFA, etc. for $34.99 as well. Angry Birds was $24.99. I got Future Shop to PM Tomb Raider DE down to $32.49 for me.

EDIT: NBA 2K14 and Battlefield were out of stock.

if anyone is able to find an extra copy of tomb raider for ps4, i'd gladly buy it off you (in the gta).  out of town for work - won't be able to make it to a store this week...

 
Picked up Fifa 14 at Target. It wasn't tagged with the sale price but I asked the lady to check it and it was 34.99
Then I grabbed the flyer and went to Walmart to pricematch AC4 and BF4. Good day overall :)

has anyone's target store been restocked lately?  stopped by some stores on saturday but pretty much only saw knack, killzone, and nba live.  i have a raincheck for tomb raider that i'd like to use sooner rather than later.
