Hey guys, noticed this on Bestbuy's site, and while it isn't huge savings I figured it was worth mentioning.

Bestbuy has a 15% off accessories promotion when you buy any game, I'm not sure if they meant for it to be included but you can buy any game even a cheap $3 game and it'll trigger this allows you to save some money on these headsets as well as other more expensive accessories.

The PS4 Gold Headset is $100 -15% it becomes $85 then add a $3 game bumping it to 88.

Turtle Beach XO Four is the same, additionally the discount is even better if you buy the more expensive ones like the XO Seven.

Wii Fit U with Balance board is about $10 off bundled with a $3 game

Turtle Beach XO Seven is $21 off after the 15% and adding a $3 game.

Note preowned games don't qualify and PSN/XBL Credit doesn't.

Checking all the searches this is the lowest price for a game.

How does the XO 4 recieve game sound? AKA why won't it also work with PS4?

Edit: It seems to go through the controller? They're kind of overcharging, but I guess $100 isn't bad for a surround sound wireless headset, even if it will only work with Xbox One.

Edit2: It appears these XB One headsets don't even use batteries. I question the sound quality, if that's the case.

Either way, thanks for the heads up OP.

The issues with XB1 headsets are kind of overblown, in a way, all headphones still work. You hook it up through your television, (I would recommend this anyway so that you can use it for literally everything, I can use my headset for my ps2 games even) and than you use the kinect as the microphone.

I probably will get the adapter just because, to make it easier to mute my mic in the middle of a game without going to options, but yes I don't see the XO official headsets being necessary, they are a pretty big mark up because of the limited (official) options available.

Is the Four surround? Doesn't look like it:

Usually if it is surround they tell you many times

Edit: look at this old reddit

Looks like TB took surround sound off the feature list?

This is confusing

The PX4 (PS4 branded but works with multiple consoles) comes down to 127.49 and if you buy the Stereo Adapter for Xbox One, you could use it for both next gen consoles and it is Dolby Surround sound instead of standard stereo like the XO Four or Seven.

The Seven IS surround.

More confusing: on the TB desktop site, the Seven and Four are listed as stereo. If you select surround headsets, they disappear.

On the TB mobile site, they list the Four and Seven as surround.

Moral: don't buy TB until they know what their own products do

I usually stay away from tb becuase, IMO find their build quality to be kinda crappy. It has been a while since I've used one and choices are somewhat limited, so I'm waiting on reviews.

I haven't looked at the products you guys are discussing but I think the distinction is "virtual" vs. "true" surround sound. Virtual surround is processed 5.1 or 7.1 signals fed through stereo speakers. True surround is actual separate speakers located within the headset.

I've tried both from various manufacturers and I actually prefer the virtual surround but take that with a grain of salt. It all boils down to build quality and personal preference.

I'll throw in a recommendation for the Sony Gold headset at $88+tax. Good materials, comfortable, easy to use and set up, works with PS4, PS3 and PC/Mac (check for compatibility) using the wireless capability, and also can be used as a standard wired headset with any 3.5mm ported device (such as the Vita, smartphone, mp3 player, etc).

I think I will wait on the gold headset. A $7 discount after tax and the cheapest, worthless game available...is a little hard to swallow.

Thank you guys though for the feedback on the headsets because I have been really thinking of getting one soon.

That's an old article. The XO Seven is stereo, just like the XO Four. Only real differences are it has smooth "premium" ear cups instead of mesh, a breakaway audio cable and the option for changable face plates (which are hella expensive!).

Go here,http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/headsets/xbox-one and click on Stereo Headsets in the options. Uncheck it and click surround instead to see the actual Surround headsets, all of which either have a base station using optical, or plug directly in to a console.

However, Albert Penello did say that virtual surround sound might come later, saying it's only a software limitation and that the hardware (Stereo Headset Adapter) is capable of it.

"Dolby Digital sound. Optical out now supports 5.1 Dolby Digital, enabling devices such as sound bars and headsets with only optical in to be able to receive 5.1 Dolby Digital from Xbox One over optical. We’re also adding support for Dolby Digital surround sound over HDMI. Now you’ll be able to have the best sound quality no matter what speaker setup you are using."

Is this relevant information?

That is pretty weird. Amazon doesn't mention anything about surround sound, neither does Best Buy. I went ahead and bought the XOFour just for the hell of it and will pick it up on Friday. I have both a PS4 and Xbox One so if these work, it comes out a little cheaper than the Sony Gold headset + a Xbox One Stereo Headset adapter. I'll update y'all on Friday as to how well (or not) these work!

For the XO Four and Seven, no it's not relevant. They get their audio straight from the controller, not the console or a base station like most of Turtle Beach's other headsets do.

Check price match before you commit to buying. I almost bought the turtle beach PX4 with this deal, but amazon already has them for less. Great deal though if it's relevant for you.

Another Best Buy store pickup disaster. I get the email that my XO Four is ready to pick up, drive 30 minutes over there and the lady spends 20 minutes looking around for my order. Finally she comes back and says that they marked it as picked but the store hadn't received any yet (no XO Sevens, Headset Adapters, or official Xbox Stereo Headsets). Manager comes around and offers to give a better headset for the same price (sounds good) but without the adapter, i'd only be able to use a headset on the PS4.

Now I just have to wait because they say they can't cancel my order since it's already labeled as picked (not picked up, picked as in set aside for store pick-up).

Rather than start a new thread i'm bumping this up as a PSA: the pulse elites are on sale for $115.XX, bringing them down to $98.59 after discount.

EDIT- Oh and power gig is the lowest priced game @ $2.99 before gcu.
