Am I the only one who suspects that the price on this game will fall like a rock shortly after it's on the shelves?

Considering it's one of few system sellers that is coming out, probably not.

being one of a few games worth buying for a system and being a system seller are two different things, this is not a system seller.

It's a Platinum game. It'll be $10 sooner or later.

It will definitely drop fast. IIRC the first sold only around 1.5 million between two platforms with massive install bases. Now the sequel is on Wii U. Sales for this game, like all games on Wii U will be awful. Even Nintendo's own franchises don't sell well, no way this will.

It's why I'm buying one. It's why my girlfriend is buying one. It's why a few of my friends are buying one. Buying a WiiU is the only way to to play it, as it is exclusive.  It will drop eventually, I just don't think it will drop quickly.

This definitely isn't a system seller. Not sure how/when the price will drop. But I am pretty confident they will sell 250,000 - 500,000 copies total. It's not going to do too well.

I think it will as well, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it go multiplatform.

It will NEVER go multi platform. Nintendo paid for this game to be made for them. They are publishing it. Why in God's name they picked this one to be an exclusive for their system ill never understand. I didn't think the first one was all that popular.

Probably the curtail the standard gamers perception that Nintendo's games are all for kids. Which is likely the same reason they had all those Resident Evils on Gamecube. Too bad it won't change anything.

Ill just get it when it hits -20 dollars just like every single platinum games hits.

Everything ive seen for it screams un-needed and inferior pointless sequel.

Says the guy playing Thief on something other than a PC... For better or worse, this game is never going multiplatform, so let that dream rest in peace.

NSMBU over 4 million sold. Super Mario 3D World over 2 million sold. Wii Party U, Zelda Windwaker and NSLU over 1 million sold.

I think it's fair to say Nintendo's franchises do sell well.

Although chances are slim, I wouldn't rule it out completely. Sure it's published by Nintendo. When the sales finally slows to a craw on the Wii U, they may let Platium make it for other systems under a different name, like Bayonetta Sigma 2 for example, and get a little fee for every copy sold. Back in Ninja Gaiden 2 days, game was made by Team Ninja but was published by Microsoft as an 360 exclusive. 1.25 years later, boom it was on PS3 under Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 with tweaked gameplay.

Let me know how that works out for you...

And yes, there are core gamers on the Wii U. Hardcore games involve more than just realism and violence. DKC Tropical Freeze and Wonderful 101 are prime examples of that. In fact, speed running DKC is an artform that very few possess the skill to achieve. I invite you to come visit the OTHER side of gaming. The side that doesn't get popularized in every form of media. You can still play your realistic games too. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Those would be incredible for Wii U sales. Given the puny install base I'd be impressed it it breaks 200,000.

Exceptions to every rule. 1 million is a fail btw. NSMBU is a packin those "sales" are in name only. If these are your proof that bayonetta 2 will sell well then we shall see when it's out and I'll laugh. Just like with everything else.

The real system seller comes out May 30th, Mario Kart 8. It should increase the install base size quite a bit if the original Wii one selling 34 million is any indication. Then hopefully at least a tiny percentage of that install base will buy games like this, X, and other hardcore games so that other companies can realize the Wii U is worth supporting.

If people invested in Wii U they should also invest in the games they want new if they expect it to continue existing.

Not gonna happen, to all those claiming this is gonna go multiplat at some point let me bring GoldenEye N64 to your attention. Nintendo wouldn't let it get released on XBLA over a decade later. 0% chance this goes anywhere but Wii U just buy it there.

1st Party Nintendo titles are "ever green" titles. Unlike most games that get the bulk of their sales right at launch, Nintendo games keep selling ie Mario Kart Wii still selling over 1 million last year.

LOL I didn't know I was trolling. I just seriously don't know anyone that has a wii u. I know playstation/xbox people and I know wii people. Bayonetta 2 on Wii U just seems crazy, but I don't know. Thief on a system other than pc, lol? my computer at home is like 10 years old and im lucky if I can play titanquest/age of mythology. I havnt played games on computer cept minesweeper n oregon trail back in the day. I'm not good with technology unless it comes plug n play right outta the box i.e. consoles. I tried computers but I just get distracted with all the porn and etc.

I also love the people that say 100% sure this is only gonna be on Wii U. They said the same thing about Mass Effect 1, same thing with microsoft published game never gonna happen and no more heroes only on wii... those didn't last.

hydrophobia. lol

If I had the money, this might be a system seller for me.  I'm all about console exclusives.  Now if Bayonetta 2 were to appear on PS3/360 that might discourage me.
