YMMV ToysRUS "Green" Clearance is up to 70% off!

I picked up Sin and Punishment for the Wii ($5) and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition ($12).
The had a variety of other games, I picked these up in Leominster MA.

The worker said the prices will steadily decrease, but he is not sure when the next drop will be.

They had an assortment of other games on ALL consoles.
Some hidden gems.

Just look for the games with a Lime Green tag on them. They all say "Was $##.##" but don't give the real price until you check them either at a register or kiosk.

Might have to check mine tomorrow night. Was on the prowl for FO-ultimate edition myself but got one on eBay new for 16 shipped.

Hope they have some goodies they rarely do.

If it goes to 90% off like the green tag sale in 2005 this could end up being amazing. When it went to 90% off there were so many games that were $0.50 - $5.00 and many of them weren't properly tagged. EB was also running a promotion of a $10 bonus for any 2 games traded in except old sports games and it was great spending $2 - $6 total on 2 games and then getting $11 - $15 in trade in credit for each set of 2 games especially since they were horrible games no one would actually want to play like Mojo on PS2.

That was probably one of the top 3 clearances in CAG history (I think the other 2 are the $4.99 2004 Circuit City clearance and the 2005 KB Toys clearance where 1st party Nintendo games were $10 and other games were $1 - $5).

There are actually four different colors.  Blue, Green, Brown and Yellow.

Percentages right now.

Blue = 50%

Green = 40%

Brown = 30%

Yellow = 20%

To also note:  These clearance items may be excluded from many future coupons too.

Thanks, the guy there said it will just keep going lower.

The CC wasn't a clearance. It was a "Buy 2 Greatest Hits PS2 games for $30" that applied the $15 off to ALL $20 games. (GH games not $20 weren't discounted)

But yeah, the Toys R Us clearance was amazing.

I just remembered. The last TRU green tag clearance of this scale was done during before the console generations shifted. I guess this is about the same time...

I'm talking about the clearance around July 4th where they had a ton of games on all systems marked down to $4.99 like Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Disgaea and many more. I remember that glitch too though.

Oh jeeeeez, just had to reminisce for a moment. The CC clearance was incredible...I got in that Friday night before word got out or anything was marked. Just driving from store to store in Houston scoring cartloads of ridiculous games for $5 each and even finding old rare stuff like PS1 and good Game Boy Color games (Zelda) for $5 each as well.

And yes, even at 50% the 2005 TRU sale was good, at 90% I was again buying cartloads of stuff. The good old days...

Oh, I would also nominate the GameCrazy "classic plastic" 3 for $15 sale as one of the legendary ones as well. I think I wound up going to something like 100 stores in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio for that one. Gobs of rare games for $5 each.

Yea now it hard to find good deals before they gone cause now with everyone having smart phones with Internet, tablets on the go and all the technology now adays word spread a lot a lot faster and easier about great markdowns where years and years ago it it took longer to reach most people

Well, stores have gotten a lot of better about clearing out their stuff more quickly. They used to just let it sit there and rot for years and get stuck with games that were 5-10 years old. I can't even tell you how much stuff I bought over those early to mid 2000 years.

My store only had 360 and PS3 games tagged.

Didn't see anything too great anyway. Thought about the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection (marked 19.99) but I'm not dying to get it. I'll let fate decide, if it's still there in a week maybe I'll grab it.

I really hope they're not excluded from coupons. At the TRU I work at, most of this stuff we've been sitting on for YEARS. There's a few decent games recalling from memory. The Ico/Shadow bundle is 12 bucks. Darkness 2 is 40% off the 14.99 price on both systems. Skylanders: Giants. All the games are green tagged at our store, I know that much. Tablets are green labeled, too. Any accessories I've labeled are blue tagged except for a couple green tagged.

Most of the stuff in our store is brown labeled right now, though. Out of the 5,000 some items, a little more than half are brown.

Also, the percentages WILL increase all the way to 95%. I believe. According to the signage I saw.

The next coupon to be released, which is the friends and family coupon, the week of 3/30 has clearance as an exclusion. I hope it's not the norm, but it's looks like a bad sign.

Yeaughh. I should've checked those. I'm already getting ready for the cluster that will be future coupons!

Didn't see anything too spectacular at my TRU.  Just a huge bin full of mostly shovel ware.  There were a few games I had my eye on (Goldeneye Reloaded on Xbox, SotC/ICO, DMC, among others) but the prices are too high even at 40% off.  Planning on going back in a couple weeks to see if things drop to 75% off or more.

I did end up getting the second to last copy of Spirit Camera on the 3DS for $5.99.  Not an amazing deal but still worth it.

Is this clearance sale on more then video games?

I need an excuse to go in there with my daughter. Just bought her a bunch of toys so clearance sale will help me justify this. Then just happen to come across some video game deals. Just wanna scope prices really. Toys R Us is extremely over priced with games so if its not 50% off it may not even be worth it yet.

Yes it's on more than video games. I saw a guy loading up 2 baskets full of foam footballs, soccer balls and other balls last night. The shelf they were in was marked with a green tag. He seemed very pleased with his haul

Not only is this clearance good on video games, good on lots of toys as well.  Caught it on the first day they started it and made out like a bandit!  Most toys I bought on clearance were 'green' so 40% off.  I spent more than I wanted but got a lot of good deals and didn't want to wait for fear of hoarders (although I do admit I did hoard a few things myself but for my collection, not to sell).

-Godzilla Tokyo Vinyl figures (Godzilla and Mechagodzilla) - $19.99 down to $12.99 final $7.79 each

-Movie Masters The Dark Knight Rises Catwoman figure - $19.99 down to $9.99 final $5.98!

-Various Minimates 2 packs (got Toys R Us Exclusives for Walking Dead and Marvel) - $7.99 down to $3.99 final $2.38 each!

-Best deal of the day on 7 older GI JOE figures (2011-2012) including Storm Shadow, 2 different Snake Eyes, Duke, Dusty, Tunnel Rat and an Alley Viper - $9.99 down to an astounding $2.00 (!) final $1.20 each!!

They were old stock that maybe a worker found in the back and put out.  Sorry, I snagged all those GI JOE figures up!  Didn't leave one!  Although the Duke was heavily water damaged on the card, but at least the figure was sealed untouched.  My guess is the box must have been on the floor somewhere in a corner of the warehouse and somehow got wet.

Only wishing now they find a case of series 1 The Walking Dead figures back there somewhere and put em out.

Good day indeed.

ill check out the vita stuff (need a shiny new usb cord) also ill get something for my dad if there is more than just shovelware avalible lol. also with any clearance i always check for flips ;)

Oh man, the 04 Circuit City and 05 KB Toys clearances, im glad theres people around who still remember those

I'm sure that was a glitch; not on clearance. In was during my college days. When I got this news, I freakn ditched my summer class and lucky for me there was a CC across the street from my campus. I was able to score Disgaea (super rare back in the days) for $5 plus many others JRPGs for other systems. I believe the $5 games glitch was over a few days later when corporate found out and correct it.

I put this next to Sears liquidation on their Video Games (with additional 50% off - manager special) and TRU $9.98 clearance games. Oh yeah, Do you guys rememeber when TRU was running a promotion on 2 PS1 games for $14.99? I'm kicking my a$$ right now for not picking up several copies of Greatest Hits FF7.

Elitist much? It's an RPG made in Japan, therefore it's a JRPG. It's also a strategy RPG, so if you wanted to be specific about the gameplay it's also a SRPG - either is fine. I guess if you wanted to be SUPER specific, it's a JSRPG.

For non electronics merchandise, there could be things added weekly. Warehouses are pushing out old clearance inventory to stores. Some of these items have not been in stores for a few months so you could see a bunch of cheap items coming through.

Went to my Toys R Us in Springfield, MA. Green tags were 40% off and Blue Tags were 50% off. Almost every game had green tags. I saw no blue tags. Mostly old games and accessories which were marked at the retail price.  They had 3ds accessories, and playstation move and accessories green tag. No Wii U, Xbox one, or ps4 games on clearance.

There's probably 10 games per each system that were green tagged. I saw a lot or white sticker games which weren't on sale.

Some games I remember all green tag:

Dead space 3 ps3 and 360 (original price 20.00)

Acdc game ps3 (original price 10.00)

Generator rex 3ds

Kid icarus 3ds (original price 40.00)

Centipede wii

The novi michigan toys r us has all their vita games green tagged.
Ended up getting kid icarus, spirit Camera and steel diver for my 3ds.also grabbed a nice ipod dock/clock radio green tagged

Not much in the way of games, but I got some cheap Bioshock Infinite figures that I'm very happy about! Check the whole store people, there are some crazy good deals scattered about.

Toys R Us near my work just started tagging the video game section today.

I am assuming, based on the clearance tag format, in about a week or so they will drop the blue tags to 60%, green to 50%, etc. until they get rid of all their stuff.
