This is probably the last, best chance to get this one for a good price, as it is already "in the vault" (out of print).

If you want the complete Lion King experience, this set gives you the 4 disc version, as well as the two (direct-to-video) sequels (grand total of 8 discs), and a collectible drum case for $69.96.

I've had this in my wish list forever. I literally just looked at my wish list before I saw your post and didn't even notice Amazon's price--I guess because I've just been monitoring the used prices due to Amazon's price always being absurd ($45).

Ordered. Thanks!

Same shit happen to beauty and the beast. $29.99 and then gone immediately.
Wish I could have got BATB, but I didn't even own a Blu Ray player at the time. A lot of other people are in the same boat, as it's only been the last couple years that BRs have exploded (and still have yet to overtake DVD, despite the loads of unsold discs cluttering shelves while the BRs sell out) and there are rumors that Disney realizes this, and is re-releasing films sooner than the traditional seven years.

Thanks OP, couldn't resist picking up the Lion King in 3D.

Off topic yet somewhat related (seeing how they were released the same day), has anyone been following the price of DisneyNature African Cats? Is $16.57 a good price point for this Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack? And does anyone know if there is a difference (aside from price) between the blue top and orange top Blu-ray/DVD combo of African cats?

It looks like the only difference is the actual packaging, but I figured I may as well ask just in case.

I bought this the day it came out...seem to remember there was a coupon deal or bigger sale w/ purchase of The Lion King. The Blue top will be in blu ray sized packaging, while the orange will have the larger DVD sized packaging. Other than that they should be the same, all depends on if you are as OCD as I am having to have all my blu-rays looking the same.

Great, thanks for the info. Luckily I purchased the blue top a few hours ago for exactly that reason, so the case fits in with my other blu-rays. It didn't actually occure to me that they could be different size cases, but definitely makes sense considering the orange top states DVD + Blu-Ray, whereas the blue top has the blu-ray part first.

If anyone picks up the Trilogy set and is interested I have a 500 point Avengers collection DMR code to trade for the 450 point Lion King Trilogy code. I'd also be interested in purchasing the code if you're not interested in DMR points.
