Oh Damn. I did not realize it wasn't free shipping. Sorry.

I got the email from Amazon this morning about it and posted it here.

Waiting for the 64GB to be officially released here so the 32GB would come down in price to around $60.

Still waiting on the 64GB to come to the States as well.. My 32GB has been full FOREVER!!! Been thinking of importing one for a while but another $100 on a memory card doesn't sit well with me. I got my 32GB for $60 direct from Sony a while ago and it was totally worth the upgrade but I can wait out the bigger card as this one is not painfully small, just too small.

you'd think sony would subsidize the cost of the cards a bit more, or allow 3rd parties to make memory cards.

Unless they figured in the psp days that memory card size did not deter game purchases.

Hard to understand why Sony discontinued the 32gb card, it's a great size that holds tons of games, if you have a mix including older PSP and indies. My 32gb has over 80 games on it right now. I'll definitely consider a 64gb card when those come out here, though; would fit a TON of games!

They discontinued the 32gb card, when did that happen? I picked up a 32gb card from GameStop last time they had their sale for like ~$60 (Cant remember exact price its been a long while). I also have an 8gb card that came with my Vita when I got it for my birthday that I have not used since I got my 32gb card.

Well it dried up for a while, and not all retailers carry it anymore ( notably Best Buy), but I guess you're right, it does still seem to be available from Amazon and GS.

I bought the 64GB card from YesAsia a couple of weeks ago and sold my 32GB card to a CAG for $55. Worked without any issues at all.

I think if you want a memory card either buy an 8gb for less than $20 or go for the 64gb at $100. Anything in between is not priced right to me.

I have two questions regarding your 64GB order. Did you have to pay tax? How long did the shipping take? I've been thinking about purchasing one but was not sure where to buy it from because I have imported a product before.

Almost feels like we're being charged a Sony tax for the privilege of being able to use a memory card on the Vita. I'm okay with a proprietary format for the sake of deterring piracy, but when your memory cards are costing 2-3x more than a microSD (not to mention the $/GB ratio is also higher than SSD drives), you're just coming off as unabashedly anti-consumer.

I've been looking into a bigger card, but it's hard to justify these prices when you see how much cheaper the equivalent microSD's are on Amazon.

There was no tax on the order, it shipped from Hong Kong a couple of days after order via Hong Kong Post and arrived about 4-5 days after shipment. Free shipping included a tracking number and was packaged in a bubble mailer with the item bubble-wrapped inside of the package.

Nippon-Yasan.com had it for a similar price, though their cheapest shipping option was more than YesAsia.com, even without the coupon, and didn't include a tracking number. It was a couple dollars more for the trackable option from Nippon-Yasan.

Thanks for the answers. I've started to enter my information in on YesAsia.com to purchase one but the free shipping did not include a tracking number. A $12 shipping fee is needed if I wish to have a tracking number. Not sure if it is worth paying the extra $12...

If you're gonna buy 2 8gb cards for $20 you might as well buy a 40 dollar 16gb card. The prices still feel a little steep though even after Sony's supposed price drop.

They aren't letting third parties make the cards because the demand is fairly low because they're only used in the Vita (as opposed to the Memory stick that was used in all their various cameras as well), which is probably also why the price isn't dropping and why they're no producing many of the higher capacity cards. If you get a 64 or 32gb card for a decent price you probably won't need another for a long time (unless you're a snap purchaser and or take every deal you get thought PS+) in which case all those cheap cards would end up sitting on shelves and not get purchased at all.

This should be $20 and the 32GB should be $40, bare minimum.

In a perfect world they would be $10 and $20 respectively.

Haven't played a single Vita game since picking a console up a month ago because the memory cards prices are outrageous.

This has actually been this price here for a while. I bought my 16GB at the same price from one of the retailers on amazon new around 2-3 months ago.

YesAsia let me know via email that their free shipping to the US does include a tracking number. It did for me and I only had the free shipping option.
