Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for WiiU 22.81$

I bought this game for $45 forever ago and can't get into it.  It seems so damn complicated, and I don't have the patience to sit down and figure it out.  I suppose I should try to get into it soon while there's still some semblance of an online community left, but I have so many other great games to play too....

This game is the reason I bought a Wii U. Started it on the 3ds and wanted to play it on the big screen. Once you get into it it's like crack.

I absolutely love this game, if it's similar to any of the past games the online community will be good enough until it gets shut down, I remember playing the PS2 one (and the Wii one) up until they closed down the servers and you could still easily find groups!

Not that there will be a huge amount of people, but since the game is basically only 4 players it doesn't take that many to get a full game going.

This is WiiU, it doesn't exactly have a good online network or user base established. Though if it kept going on Wii I guess there's hope....

That is true, but a lot of Monster Hunter fans are pretty dedicated, I know the PSP ones I could find a group pretty easily even and that one I had to use the PS3 thing where you can play local only games online since it didn't have built in online.

I threw the game in to check and there are currently about 600 people on, as I said before it's not a huge amount, but it seems that this is one of those games where there are always going to be enough people on to play at least. Considering lobbies fill up at 100 people there will always be at least a few close to full lobbies you can join and you should be set.

I looked at GameFAQs quick and people are saying peak is around 1000-1500. Looking through the lobbies that are up it looks like it's still easy enough to find mid game to end game groups, with a few beginner ones here and there, but those may take a little bit of searching (But there are still novice/low level only lobbies as well, but that looks to only have around 50 people right now, they are also in the mixed ones as well at least.)

Granted, if you can make/find a few buddies who will play with you that will help out a lot as well, I know when I hunt I usually only have 3/4 people and you can still make it through fine!

The user base has to be established, albeit relatively small. It's the only home console this game is on. Similarly I'm expecting to find servers full of MK8 and Smash Bros players. It's not like we're talking about the current state of CoD Black Ops 2 for Wii online servers lol.

This is also one of the few U games that supports chat. You don't need a headset. And messaging during the game is also cool. I prefer it to chat.

It's been this price for a while. I just ordered it Tuesday. I played the 3ds demo and liked it but decided on the Wii U due to its cheap price.

Why did i buy this over a year ago...I've only played it once.  Then I bought the 3DS version when it was on sale at Gamestop...all I've done on that is link my game from the Wii U version to it.  I should really stop buying games just because they go on sale.  Hopefully I'll get around to really playing this during the summer.
