[/quote]the free game sounds nice and cool

If you able to sell the code, the people who got the deal at kmart are pretty damn lucky lol

I just hate digital tbh

It kills me when I can't see my favorite games because I bought them digital.

Pretty nice deal overall. A custom gamepad (like the Zelda one) could have been cool but I think this will move a lot of systems, especially with the second free game.

So, this free game deal is for any copy of MK8 purchased or only the one that comes with this bundle?

Any copy, from what I'm reading. Digital or Retail--for the Retail copies, you'll have to register with Club Nintendo. For Digital, I imagine the club nintendo link w/ your eShop account may have to already be established.

I have MK8 pre-ordered at Best Buy through GCU w/ the $10 Gas Card and $45 worth of Certs, so I'm very happy about this.

Woo! I was contemplating snagging Wii Party U for the past few months, glad I don't need to anymore! Also very glad because that game is a game I would want digitally.

Wow, seems like this is a pretty late reveal, at this point I really didn't think it was coming.

I don't see why there couldn't have been a red wii u,

lol is there a reason why companies go all out on colors?

Does it cost them money or something

Agreed. But I don't feel that way about my Steam collection, so I know it isn't just the fact that it's digital. One of the great things that Steam provides is the feeling of an actual library, even though it's digital. If the consoles would catch up in their digital services, I would be happy to spend more money on digital versions.

I've had fun with my Zelda Wii U console since I bought it on release day, but MAN.... This is a great bundle. Kind of tempted to buy it again and sell my Zelda console.

Free game! Woo! Seems to make sense to go for one of the first party games that's been holding steady at $50-60: Pikmin 3, NSMBU, or Zelda.

Due to low sales, they probably have a quite a few black Wii U's in inventory. It's better for them to go through their current inventory than produce new, red Wii U's.

Cool bundle! Already have a Wii U though so thanking the OP for bringing up the free game! Was already planning on getting Mario Kart for sure, so I guess I can get a free Wii Party U since that's the only one I don't have.

Nintendo is continuing the stereotype that white people can't dance lol

Wow, the free game with just buying Mario Kart is an amazing deal!  I am shocked that Nintendo is doing this, but I guess the very low numbers they have to provide extra incentive.  I wonder if they will do more deals like this with Smash Brothers later.

Wow great deal with the free game with Mario Kart. I already have them all but now I can go ahead and sell one and just use the money toward Mario Kart.

Agreed fully, there's nothing wrong with digital done right. That includes significantly cheaper prices and the ability to play your game on any machine you use. Nintendo has a LONG way to go.....

That's really cool about the free digital game though, but I wish they'd widen the selection some. I already have Pikmin 3/NSMBU and have 0 interest in WWHD/WiiU Party. Not to mention that all 4 have been on sale at one point or another. But free is free, I guess I will go for WWHD, at least I may play it eventually.....

It includes the Wii remote too with the wheel?

Oh man this is SO tempting.
It still seemed a bit overpriced to me. If you don't mind a white wheel, you can get the Wiimote+ and the wheel for around $40. But unless you luck into a Sams/Sears clearance jackpot I guess this is the best deal out there now?

Didn't even think of that, lol.

Defienetely should not be in business :p
In Nintendo's defense, a red console would look hideous. This is a device that's going to be sitting in my home, so black is pretty essential, but there's no way in hell I'd go red. It's one thing to have a rainbow for handhelds, but quite another for consoles. Still, I wouldn't have minded a checkered flag or something on the system + gamepad....

MUCH better :D I'll actually have to think about it for a minute now lol.

Actually, now that I looked, it looks like that's Europe only. NoA is only giving us 4 choices. god fucking damn I know it's bad taste to whine about free stuff, but I swear it's like NoA goes out of it's way to make me bitter and find new ways to make me regret supporting them, or WiiU in general. Why can't they offer us the same list? And what the hell has been up with Europe the last few years, they've become really awesome as of late....

This quote from that article.."Nintendo also announced today that it is actually possible to destroy the blue shell in Mario Kart 8 before it hits you. "

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat haha, sounds pretty interesting!

To be fair I know it's been "possible" before. I don't remember the specific games, but if you time a mushroom boost JUST right you can make it miss. And in some other games, if you drop a bomb JUST right you can destroy it that way.

So yeah, don't get your hopes up.

Yeah, that's true. But with them highlighting it I do wonder what ways they have planned to destroy it!

With a star or bullet :whistle2:?

Seriously I don't think it's going to be some massive game changer, the blue shell has never been invincible has it? You just need android reflexes and a ton of luck to beat it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised to see them tamper with the formula like that. Frankly I'd rather them just give you the option to turn the damn thing on/off and be done with it.

Nintendo is fucking awesome with these long ass videos in terms of selling you a game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbuJZP0_8iQ&feature=youtu.be

THat said, I think this bundle should be $299 flat. I realize Nintendo would make less at that price, but they shouldn't be raising the price on a dead last system regardless of value.

WIth that said this is great value lol.

Didn't realize there was a huge video....that probably answers most of the questions I have lol, will watch that later. Thanks for posting it!

Wow, I didn't know people would actually sit through that. I tried to watch it, saw it was over half an hour, then just turned it off lol. And I totally am with you on the price. Even if you want to argue over the value all day long, you can't argue with the statistics that something priced at $299 will almost always move a ton more than something at $300 lol.

I'd say that Nintendo has accountants and financial analysts far smarter than me coming up with their prices, but the proof is in the pudding.....

You know how crazy sales are

I forgot alot about my economics class but all the factors they have to take in that effect sales is pretty crazy lol

Since I have MK8 preordered at Kmart and I'll get back $35 in SYWR points, I already have a 32GB Wii U, and I own pretty much every game I want off that download list, I'll likely sell off my download (like with the free copy of Pokemon X/Y).

Thanks, OP! :bouncy:

The direct things really help you decide if you want to spend the money for the game or credit in this case lol

that or they are really persuasive

There's a super horn item that makes a sound wave around you that can bump off opponents. It can also destroy items and it was shown destroying the blue shell. I don't think it would be that hard to do with that item. The only problem is there are probably 3 more right behind the one you destroyed

Yeah I get what you are saying, but it's Mario Kart, what's to know? I'm sure it'll be worth the $60 + $35 in K-Mart credit at least lol, and even if they aren't offering any games I actually want that digital code still sweetens the deal a bit. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and sell the code for $20 and end up only paying $15 for the game?

I see, I didn't know that but I haven't been following much since I preordered lol

Yeah your sort of right but I mean you get a taste of the game,

I am more likely to buy it than I was before I watched it,

Even though I was going to buy it anyway lol

Definitely interested in MK8. So this post is not to bash Wii-U or the game.

But the bundle at $329 still isn't a great deal. Haven't the previous bundles been $299 with game? So we are paying $30 for a plastic wheel?

Doesn't seem like Nintendo is quite "getting it" yet if that is the MSRP. Although if they are going to do a price cut, it makes sense to try and milk as many sales as possible from MK8 before they do so. So I can understand that, I'm just looking at it rationally from my angle (i.e. prospective buyer). I'm still waiting for my $199 holiday bundle...

The other bundles didn't come with a Wiimote either, so if you look at it like that, I guess the Mario Kart bundle is the better deal? I think? What's NSMBU + NSLU going for nowadays? I know I paid under $50 for the pair months ago...

I don't think anybody can deny this bundle is the better deal after you factor in that digital game. Even if it is stuck to your console, it's still a good deal.
