Same deal as they've been doing with a lot of new releases lately. Add the game to cart and the promo $25 giftcard will show up (probably a good idea to take a screen shot of it, since it won't show up on your order confirmation and some poeple had issues with these deals in the past).

eGiftCards are emailed to you 10-20 days after the game ships and I believe they're good for 90 days only.

Yeah, I've bought a few games through them.  It works out pretty well, but they ship in padded envelopes, I had the corner of a Wind Waker crushed in the process.  Definitely hang on to screen shots of anything that mentions the gift card (the product page doesn't mention it).  I had to go through a bit of a mess to get one for GTA V that was actually part of the detail page (and listed in the title of the game on the invoice).  They fixed it, but it took a bit of time on the phone.  I was helped by the fact that the title of the game was something like "Grand Theft Auto V - with free $20 eGift Card".

Those with experience at Dell.com, two questions:

1. What do shipping costs run?  I'm not seeing anything on their site

2. How long does shipping take?  Is it more like 2-3 days, or more like 1-2 weeks?

Hmm...if I shopped at Dell then I'd be on this. But I really don't want to be forced into buying more items from them. I'll stick with GCU instead; I'm not getting as much, but I'd rather get $12 off. Just my opinion. Thanks for posting OP.

well with gcu you are getting just as much. Gcu discount of $12+$10 gas promo= $22 savings

it has free next day shipping? I'm skeptical even though it says the price
They offered free next day shipping for me on my WatchDog preorder so I didn't find that too surprising. Also, if you sign up for Dell Advantage (their loyaltee program, free to sign up) you get 2nd business day shipping on ALL orders (in addition to 10% back for future orders).

Personally, I'm hoping that they do the same promo for Destiny preorder. That comes out Sept 9. If I get 90 days from 10-20 days after this ships (May 30) it should still be good... barely. I applied the $25 from TitanFall so hopefully I can keep this train going.

What's the catch for joining Dell Advantage?

As far as I'm aware, none. It's just a loyalty program like BestBuy's MyBestBuy or Kmart/Sear's SYWR.

And my mistake, its' 5% back, not 10%. To get 10%, you also need to be part of the Dell Preferred (financing program, I assume would do a hard pull on your credit). I'm not a member of Dell Preferred.

Here's the FAQ on Dell Advantage:

Well, darn, I wish I had known about that when I ordered a ~$275 TV (with $200 GC) two weeks ago--I wouldn't have minded another $13.75 back. :headache:

Thanks for the thread, op! I pre-ordered my copy and will more than likely use the gift card for smash brothers later this year.

Does anyone know how long this will last, or will it last until launch?  Not sure if I'll have the money by the time MK8 launches as I'll be buying a vita with my remaining funds and am still waiting on some potential birthday funds from a relative or two.

This deal is on Slickdeals, so I don't see it lasting longer than another day, but we can always hope.

Do you get charged after the checkout or when the game ships? I'm so interested in this deal but my card has no funds right now lol.

Hmm I think I'm going to bite, but boy am I hesitant to end up w/ a $25 gift card with nothing to buy due to stuff being conveniently sold out lol

Thanks OP! I had yet to preorder this, I was hoping something better than the BB gas cash would come up.

Dell has Kirby 3DS for $30 right now. If they still have it when I get the $25 egc, that's probably what I'll use it on.

Use it towards Smash Bros if you have a 3DS?
Woop forgot about that. Now let's just hope Dell gets enough copies as I'm sure ppl w/ those $25 gift cards are going to be blowing their load on Smash Bros 3DS for sure.

Welp Dell got me! I bit on this pre-order. They better deliver come time I have that $25 gift card to blow.

Anyone having issues logging into Dell.com to make a purchase?  I've tried in both Chrome and IE and no luck.

EDIT: NVM got it working.

shipping is free and I just got off live chat and they said it wouldn't ship out until about a week after release.

yes but that 2nd day shipping doesn't start until after 3-5 days after the game releases then the 2 day shipping kicks in so even with 2 day shipping checked still be about a week after release date before you receive the game

Site made my head hurt, but it's a decent deal. Will be back with my 5% rewards and $25 to get a pro controller.

Thanks OP

Yeah that's what I used my Infamous: SS $25 gift card on. Pretty good deal for Kirby since it retails for $35 at most stores.

Dell has been pretty consistent with the $25 GC deal this year on quality games. Wouldn't be surprised if Destiny had one of these promotions before release.

Are you sure? Because a pending charge is showing up in my bank account.

Is this just them checking to see if I have the funds, or am I fucked?
It's a hold but it didn't actually go through. At least with my bank that didn't happen.

If you actually did get a charge, I'd talk to my bank about it being a mistake and they should give you a credit.

With this stuff though I usually recommend credit cards, much much safer.

Also, pulled this from a website:

An authorization means that the merchant (CCavenue/Notion Ink) has notified the bank that a charge is coming and to verify there is sufficient credit or balance to cover the charge. The bank will put a hold on the requested amount which lowers your credit limit or balance to withdraw by that amount, to ensure that when the merchant places the charge it will succeed. The charge is when the bank actually transfers the money to the merchant.

CCavenue/Notion Ink has placed an authorization. If you ordered the Pixel Qi/wifi Adam then your card was authorized for $549.99 meaning that your credit limit or available balance to withdraw has been reduced by that amount, but your actual balance of the credit card or bank account has not changed. When Notion Ink ships, they will remove the authorization and charge your card the amount authorized, taking the money from your account.

Your bank does not show a charge because there has not been one, you still have your money in your account. But likely your bank will not let you spend it or withdraw it because it has been allocated to that authorization.

So to answer your question, I am able to check my pre-order status, my card has not been charged but it has been authorized for the total amount.

I had MLB for PS4 preordered. it got shipped the 5th, and is due for delivery tuesday. couldn't be happier. jumped on the $25 GC for that as well with free next day shipping.

So, I talked to support and got my answer.

Link is correct. They put a hold on the money in your account. It's not a charge, but it makes the money inaccessible for you to use for other means, meaning the only difference between that and a charge is that a hold is easier/quicker to get your money back on.

Had to cancel the order as I was planning to put the money in for the game in 2 weeks, and do not have the patience to deal with locked off money on my debit card right now. Much prefer how Amazon does it (only checks to see if you have the money, no hold, and charges when it ships, if payment fails, order is canceled), but this is Dell, so I guess I'm not surprised. If you purchase with a credit card, this really shouldn't be an issue for you, at least.

Too bad Dell doesn't ship to Puerto Rico. Oh well. I'll cross my fingers and hope that Amazon gets some sort of deal soon.

 Dell would've gotten my business if I hadn't ODed on eShop cards during those BB sales many moons ago.
Yeah, I've got hundreds in eshop credit, and it's not even from those sales 8-[

Still, wouldn't you rather save that credit for another game and enjoy your cheap Mario Kart? I know I would. Besides, with Nintendo's account system the way it is, a multiplayer-heavy game like this is the last thing I want tied to my console.... enjoy unhooking everything the next time you want to enjoy local multiplayer at a friend's house.

Mine has shipped today (Thursday) and the shipping option I used is next business day.  Wouldn't that mean it should arrive tomorrow?  It says it's due to arrive Tuesday, which is way more than next business day, no matter how you figure it.

not according to dell I live chatted them when this deal first went live and asked about the next day/2nd day delivery and said that doesn't including handling time and etc. and that it will still be 3 to 5 days even with next day/2nd day delivery.

The status says shipped.  I'm not sure what language they deal in, but in English that usually means the only handling going on is done by the postal service.  Which means the transit time I paid for is now out of Dell's hands and is on the courier to fulfill their end of the agreement.

Edit:  I just noticed another tracking link that actually goes to Fed Ex's tracking for the package, not just Dell's site.  It says delivery by 3:00 Friday.  Good day.

Dell has shipped mine today as well. The tracking number via Fedex says that it'll be here tomorrow, so that's some awesome sauce. I honestly did not expect that from them.

Just chiming in to say that I have mine in hand. Shipped via Fedex yesterday, and was waiting for me when I got home.

Now all that's left is sweating the gift card that I literally have zero proof that I'm entitled to, since it's conveniently not mentioned on any invoice or order confirmation from Dell, and a hard reset of my phone wiped out the photo I took of the screen that mentioned it when I placed my order.  (gulp)
