There is also an option for a 33-disc DVD only set under same link but for significantly more money ($158.99)

Just a word of warning from somebody who already bought this set :  the slide box is cardboard, with wood grain stickers on all sides.  Sometimes the stickers have an edge that doesn't sit down flush against the cardboard and have a whitish edge that detracts from the appearance a little bit.  The artbook is nice, and the "blood slide" look to the discs is a neat idea.  It's a little bit of work to get all the dividers in place and get your discs orderly but looks pretty good when finished.  I take care of my stuff, but those who have friends/roommates/children/significant others who aren't as anal about their stuff might be disappointed with long-term durability.

Still, for right around $13.25  a season for the 8 seasons, this is a steal.

I kind of feel like an idiot for even thinking about buying this.  I still need the last season, which will cost me at least $30 but I'm thinking that maybe if I'm able to trade in all my other seasons and get at least $50, that it may be worth having this collection for $50+ compared to the $30+ (with tax) that I would have to pay for the last season anyway.

What do you guys think?

Glad to see the discs are in proper plastic holders instead of paper sleeves. That's my number 1 pet peeve with collector sets, though BDs are thankfully a lot harder to scratch.

1,2,4,7 are good. 3 and 5 are ok. 6 and 8 are bad.

You probably wouldn't miss much watching 1-5 and then skipping straight to 7 and stopping.

My fiancé is watching this on Netflix now so it's fun seeing the early seasons again. 1 and 2 were so good and I'm already excited to watch 4 (she's in season 3 right now so skipping most of that). 5 and 8 are awful, 6 and 7 are okay.

I think Season 3 is the second best season behind 4, mainly due to how phenomenally AWESOME Jimmy Smits is in his performance.  It's a crime he didn't win every award ever for his character.
