Amazon Appstore for Android: GTA: San Andreas for FREE (Thursday, 5/22 thru ? )

Getting myself the newest Star Wars pinball tables on Zen Pinball HD.

Each 199 coins + tax.  All four would be around 860.

It worked lol already got GTA earlier today so sitting at 3000 coins. I wonder if I completely delete my GTA purchase if I could rebuy it again lol essentially getting a 2nd 2,000 coins?

Highly doubt it but feel free to be the test subject.

I'm at about $40 in app credit now and have no idea what to spend it on. Find it very hard to just browse the store and find interesting things amongst the junk.

So the coins can only be spent on apps? Never use Amazon so no idea...

And apparently their San Andreas version isn't compatable with my nexus 7, or so their system says.

yes only apps. And yes it not compatible it wouldn't work on my nexus either. In the other thread earlier we were thinking it is the kindle tablet edition which mean GTA will work only on the kindle if that the case.

Yes, only on the appstore.

That compatibility thing is screwy. Says the same for my Galaxy S3, which I'm fairly sure can play San Andreas.

EDIT: Ninja'd. Perhaps it doesn't play on phones, I dunno. Then again I just looked on Google Play and it says San Andreas is compatible for my S3.

Well I had San Andreas installed from another site, but uninstalled thinking the official store bought version would work, but guess not. Lame about the coins too, now that I have them the only thing I want (ms points) can't be bought with them. Well that was ten minutes wasted...lol.

it is compatible through google play directly yes. but what I'm saying is there some games that both amazon and google play will have the same game but amazon will tweak the game encoding of the version they carry to optimize it specifically for there kindle tablets. That why I'm saying I believe this GTA is a kindle tablet edition version meaning the version they carry is optimized for there brand of tablets which is why it won't work.

Really good deal. Thanks to OP and eldritch for the deal and for the links.

Now just have to find some decent game apps. I was sad to see there's no KotOR. I heard that it was on iOS, hoping it had made the jump to Android.

And kudos to Amazon for giving away free apps and games, I have received many great full games for my tablet from them because I check the FAotD every day.

Thanks OP, I got San Andreas, III, and Vice City thanks to this. I never played those and never beat SA so it's awesome to be able to play these on my Kindle. They were on sale on the PSN before but I figured I'd never have time to get to these games on my home console especially since I want to play GTA V soon. Now that I got them free and can just carry them around with me on the go. I'm pretty much set for the summer break.

Ok, so guessing the amazon coins are non transferable as well right? Would give them to a friend since I won't be using them.

I think I might go with.. Minecraft, Terraria, and Scribblenauts.

Does anyone know if the Amazing Spider man 2 app is any good?

Per Amazons coins policy.

"2.3 Gifting Coins. We may allow you to give Purchased Coins as gifts to other customers. To gift Coins, you must designate the Coins as a gift prior to purchase. You may not gift Purchased Coins that have already been applied to your account or Promotional Coins. If you purchase Coins as a gift and you specify a future date for delivery of the Coins, we will charge your account at the time of purchase but you can obtain a full refund if you cancel the order prior to the scheduled delivery date."

You can still get San Andreas with an Android product. If it isn't compatible click purchase anyway and it'll work
thanks! To everyone without a Kindle. On your Android cell or tablet just go to amazon's site and scroll to the very bottom. Select the view full website option. Than search for san Andres and it will allow you to purchase it even if your not compatible. Even thou the game won't work you'll still get the 2000 coins.

Got it! Used the coins to buy GTA Vice City. Wonder if San Andreas will work on my Nexus 1ST Gen?

Edit: Had to log in through the actual website to get San Andreas to show up.

Thanks, OP.

This should also be "Whatever Amazon Apps you want for free".  Seriously, I just got GTA:SA. GTA:VC. and Minecraft and still have 1300 points.

That's what I was thinking. I'm going to search for other useful apps to buy. Office Suite Pro is good. I got it for free during their app of the day promotion. I think it's $7 or so.
