There's really no good title for this, so sorry. I have a PSP-1000. Have had it for years and years, it was a gift from my wife. I don't really want to part with it, but loading discs is so painful. I have a VitaS on the way because it looks cool and I got a good price. I also have the 2200mAh battery so that isn't an issue.

The question is what to do with the PSP, and more specifically the games. I have about ten games, all on disc. I have no PSN games. I know there are games that can't be had digitally, so if I want to play them I'll need a disc-loader PSP. Do I keep this one and deal with the slowness (or just do digital on it or Vita) or do I spend the money and upgrade to a 2k or 3k PSP? Good 3k PSPs are still $70 or so from what I've seen.

Seems a bit silly to upgrade the PSP, right?

PSP's are super easy to mod these days regardless of the model. I use a 16GB micro SD card through an adapter I bought of of amazon for super cheap. I rip my PSP games and then put them on my memory stick and play them off of there. Load times are much better and my battery last alot longer. If you have any further questions don't be afraid to drop me a line.

here is a link to the adapter i was talking about.

Welcome to the show, my friend. You're in for a serious treat if you like JRPGs and/or SRPGs. There are other good games too, but for me, the PSP is a beast in those two categories.
