I guess you can listen to Wombat's other podcast, Uninformed Opinions.

You guys haven't been watching Fargo on FX?? I have not heard any mention of it in Watch this Bitches. I think you are missing out if you have not seen this yet. No Pain No Gain was insane!! I vaguely remember those events on the news from like 20 years or so ago. The stripper thinking she was a CIA op and them returning power tools with blood and hair. The movie was well worth the watch and the stupidity had me laughing until I cried! All three of those jokers should have been deep fried.

Look Wombat, there is nothing wrong with masturbation. The subject was brought up in a private setting and you were told to increase the frequency you masturbate. However, you did mention it in a public setting. If you told us why then you are essentially giving out good advice that could help someone. I thought for sure Cheapy's guess was right but you denied it was. I don't see why you would lie if it were true because it sounds like a reasonable prognosis. Anyway, this will prob get deleted but I would like to take a whack at it with my theory. I think it must have had something to do with stamina or a "short fuse." Nothing to be ashamed of just means your woman has some AAA punani. The only other thing I could think of is maybe the Mrs. wasn't getting enough and the therapist thought jerking off could raise your sex drive. Well I guess it might be some sort of combination of the two. If you aren't having sex frequently then maybe that could lead to premature ejac. My money's on increase sex drive!

I can't believe Cheapy missed a great 'love knife' stabbing reference during the naked Wolverine talk. What a disappointment.

Cheapy maybe your cleaning lady is downloading games on your PS4. She's probably bored since you hid the fitbit scale.

I don't know if I like the Mercedes/Mario Kart mash up.  The commercial is cool, but like you guys said, what is that going to do for future games?  Are we going to start getting Coke bottles instead of mushrooms?

Shipwreck needs to build a retractable cloth cover so that Wombat can attach it to a little, red swag wagon for E3, miniature covered wagon!

I definitely find it funny to hear a company like Ubisoft complain about piracy only to then have a service like Uplay drive people towards cracking the game that they just paid for in order to be able to play it at all.

When your DRM is driving people towards torrents then there's a fucking problem and a lot of publishers seem content not addressing that problem and instead just complaining about piracy. It's like they don't even understand that they are competing with free.

Oh and...

Why I hate Wombat in general = he doesn't masturbate enough. :joystick:

Sprained ankles are terrible. I also landed on someone's foot while playing basketball, and the results weren't pretty. Couldn't walk on it for a month, and 3 years after the injury, I still can't play basketball at more than half speed. Hope it heals quickly enough for you to make E3, Ship.

Hey guys great show. Wanted to chime in on Wombats wife psychiatrist wanting him to masturbate more often.  It because he was not satisfying his wife sexually because he was blowing his load too soon.  So they psychiatrist told him to masturbate more often.  A women had to tell you this?

Let's be honest, if Uplay worked flawlessly it would have been pirated just as much.

Anecdotally, obviously, but I know of four people which pre-ordered the PC version of Watch Dogs and have since turned to torrents for the cracked files which let them circumvent Uplay in order to play the game. They wouldn't have done so had Uplay worked flawlessly.

It's a small overall number of people to be sure but that still adds bandwidth to the torrents which allows for more pirates to get those files just a bit faster.

Drops in the ocean...but drops which would never be there if Uplay didn't suck shit.

I wish I had a professional tell me to masturbate more, but I don't see that happening. Hey, can someone buy Mario Kart 8 so you can talk about it on te next show?

Cheapy, you're the man for using a Chromatics song for the intro.

Have you heard Johnny Jewel's (the main dude behind Chromatics) other project, Symmetry? He put out an album called "Themes for an Imaginary Film" and it's similar to the sort of music he did for Drive. Dark electronic stuff. I think you would like it a lot.

Can stream it all here for free, though it's worth the $9 on iTunes: https://soundcloud.com/johnnyjewel/symmetry-themes-for-an

Every once in awhile I will check the feedback thread while listening to the show I did this while I was halfway through the episode, and I was like how the heck does it get to Wombat masturbating?  Once you get past the beginning of each episode you think the time for strange has past.  Nope, this episode brings back the strange with a vengeance.

To Cheapy,

Thanks for reading my drunken request. I promise to only write on the forum in the mornings with a cup of coffee in hand, not half asleep in bed.

I just wanted to let you guys know, your podcast is one of the best on the internet. The CAGcast crew is genuine in reviewing games and other entertainment and that is the golden reason why I follow the show religiously. Also, I love to hear high and/or angry Wombat rant; I am thinking of the dentist episode that was hilarious.

Let me know if you guys are interested in some places to eat in LA. I am a Los Angelian and know a couple of places, such as delis or burger joints.

Keep up the good work,

P.S. I was willing to put up the tap for a drunken podcast.

I know you guys were joking, but that Gamecube adapter will probably sell pretty well - at least well enough to cover the effort put into making it. Nintendo is (surprisingly) trying quite hard to cater to the hardcore Smash crowd, and those guys would not be caught dead playing Melee/Brawl competitively without a GC controller. And, honestly, I'd wager that a lot of the hardcore Smash crowd already own a Wii U, or will definitely get one for the new Smash. It seems Nintendo has realized that because the Wii U is decaying rapidly, they should finally cater to the crowd that they know they can lock down easily.

I'm definitely not a hardcore Smash player (seeing as I've never even owned any of the games myself, just played them all a LOT with friends), but the adapter is welcome news. Playing with Wiimotes really, really sucks. Then again I'm not going to buy a Wii U probably ever, so I'm not in the target audience.

Oh, and to answer your question as to whether the GC controller is an actually good one: eh, it's not bad, but it's not the greatest either. It's the fact that the other option is a Wiimote that makes it seem godly in comparison. But now that there's that Pro controller, that might be a better option. Haven't used one myself, though.

I kind of just assumed that Nintendo would sell the GameCube adapter directly off of their online store similar to how they sold the GCN Component Cable and some other stuff. I don't see it selling in large quantities, but I do want it.

The PS+ changes aren't really changing much besides getting rid of the big group of games new people would have to download/play when they first joined the service, as they're going to only have six titles available at all times that are swapped out at the start of the following month. We still get the same amount of games per month and year, so it's more of a small restructuring in how many games are offered for each platform and how many are available at any time.

There was no leak for Mortal Kombat, as Ed Boon had been teasing it for months on his Twitter account where he also teased other things like an Injustice 2 or a follow-up to Shaolin Monks to throw people off the scent.

Nintendo's Virtual Console should at least have Cross Buy support if they're going to put the same games on both anyway.

I was in the other room at the time, but I am pretty sure I heard the Comedy Central commercial voice-over guy call it "Wolfensteen" last night.

btw Wombat shoulda got a Wii U instead of the Fire.  You can watch Amazon and Netflix on it.  Can use it without tv.  Deluxe refurb (as good as new with 1 yr warranty) from Nintendo is $200 with Nintendoland.  Fire with a controller was what?  $140.   shoulda got that over the Fire.

Plenty to play unlike his X1 right now.  Buy MK8 and get 1 of 4 1st party games to go with it for free.

Dance Central's problem is Just Dance is the bigger franchise by far.  Also doubt the market for that game was eager to shell out $500 for an X1 during the launch window.   That existing audience wouldn't care about the differences between old Kinect and new Kinect either.   Plus game probably didn't make money.  I would guess MS spent alot marketing it and didn't get a great return.

The GameCube controller was a great controller for NIntendo games as your right thumb was always on the big green button and it felt great as a jump button or fire button.  And it was very intuitive and easy to hit the other 3 buttons surrounding it due to their placement and different shape sand sizes.  It just made a ton of sense for NIntendo's games.

It's main  failing (in the market) was not being great for first person games that used the second stick for looking around because then your thumb would always be on the 2nd analog stick and not on the big green A button which defeated the purpose of the unique 4-button layout.

And then the triggers weren't great rapid fire triggers.  They were clickable analog pressure triggers that  felt like the gas pedal in your car and clicked if you pushed them all the way in.  And the little yellow nub wasn't great as a 2nd analog stick in 1st person games.  Too small and short.  So 1st person games required you to have your thumb on a less than ideal stick for looking around all the time and to press a trigger that felt like a gas pedal to fire your gun.  That wasn't a great setup for those games.

But the GC controller worked great for Metroid Prime and RE4 .  First person games needed that type of design  for the controller to work its best.

Nintendo used the little yellow nub stick as a switch in many games or minor camera control.  And the former worked especially good.  Anyone who played Pikmin loved to order your Pikmin around with that nub.  Or liked switching weapons in Metroid Prime with it.

Nintendo should have brought back much of the GC controller design for their Wii U gamepad since they went their own direction with the console hardware anyway and weren't going to get next-gen AAA western 3rd party support.

If Bulletstorm was a $60 game for $60 then they had other problems.  Bulletstorm was a $5-10 rental for $60 to me.  It needed to go the digital download only route.  Probably with a corresponding drop in graphics.  If you wanted co-op play that could have been extra.

There just isn't room for this type of game anymore.  Bioshock can't even make it these days.

That genre of game is dead at $60 retail.  Not any different than how other genres disappeared from store shelves over the years.  Back in the day strategy games were on shelves.  Point and click adventures.  Flight Sims.  Now add the under 10 hr first person sp shooter game.

Those games need to go digital. And really should just do the Minecraft thing and explore cool new ideas that can be done if you use graphics that aren't close to the state of the art.

And really I don't get what the guy is talking about when it comes to having games at lower prices.  I mean doesn't digital downloads give publishers and developers to sell their games for less?  Doesn't it give developers and publishers the ability to sell parts of their game piecemeal?  Like separate  out the components - sp, mp or co-op.  Not much different than DLC.

I understand the big publishers  aren't terribly interested in smaller games because they won't make a dent in the bottom line.  But independent publishing is an option.  And aren't there lesser publishers who be interested in the medium game sized space?

On the other hand another problem is the consumer is conditioned to either pay $60 for a game with state of the art graphics or next to nothing for anything else.   $20 or $30 new is a sign your game is crap in the eyes on many consumers.  Also the problem is many of these $60 games become $20 over time and is competing against the $20 or $30 new game.

It's a problem.  But still there are quite a few indie developers that know that you can sell a game for less on a budget to match sales and make money from it.

Bulletstorm was a fun game to play but it just didn't have enough of an appeal to pay $60, had it come out at at $40 I might have bitten.  Other than buying games at full price for my PS4 to play on day one, I don't think I'll pay full price anymore for most games.

I disagree with the dismissal of marketing being at least part of the problem with the success (or lack thereof) of Bulletstorm.  Everyone I know who enjoyed that game - including people on a couple other forums I frequent, real life friends and myself - went through the exact same scenario with that game.  Very little understanding of what the game actually played like, but felt like it was trying to be offensive and "extreme" in a corny 90's way and was completely turned off. In fact, they clearly toned it down a bit as there was a lot of homophobic and sexist jokes in a lot of the previews that didn't materialize in the final game.  It was only word of mouth long after the game was heavily discounted that I discovered how fun it was.

Also, based on all the rumours that came out, it sounds like the failure of Game Room was actually because it wasn't expensive enough. A lot of publishers thought they would be better off repackaging their classics for $10 on Live Arcade (or in their own disc collection) instead of just a few bucks inside a fake arcade skin. So the idea of a subscription sounds ideal, but there's no way it would have gotten off the ground. Problem is publishers thinking there is a bigger audience for older stuff than there probably is.
