Not per say a Video Game Deal, but since I keep seeing threads like AMEX and such popping up I figured I'd mention this one as well since it can be used toward buying video games.

Promotion is as follows and only available to those with either a trial or paid AmazonStudent Prime membership.

Can I buy the gift card and apply it to my own account and still get the $10 promo?
In theory, applying the Gift card to your own account should not hinder you from receiving the extra $10 GC. If keeping both GC is the route you want to take, you could always play it safe by waiting until you've received the extra $10 GC before applying the $50 GC to your own account.

I don't see any restrictions either, I've done the exact same thing in the past. If you're unsure, you could always order the physical gift card or send the e-gift card to a secondary e-mail address.

It is worth noting that "the Promo Code is valid through and expires on July 31, 2014, 11:59 PM (PT)", however you will receive your code by June 30 at latest. Also FYI, you must buy directly from amazon, in my experience it doesn't could towards items "fulfilled" by amazon.

Still, really good deal imo, better than the "$5 credit with purchase of $45 in gift cards" offer

ive done this before with similar offers.. but this one says you must be on prime.

As highlighted in the OP, it doesn't matter whether you have a trial or paid AmazonStudent Prime membership in order to qualify for this promotion. Unfortunately it is only available to AmazonStudent Prime memberships, so other Prime memberships such as AmazonMom and Regular Prime are excluded in this offer. But as long as you have an .edu address is it fairly simple to get an AmazonStudent account.

I've seen this offer pop up every few months and everytime I've taken advantage of it and bought myself a card, I've never had a problem getting the bonus credit. Done this three times already.

Would I be able to buy this gift card with my amazon credit and just reuse the card and get a 10 dollar code
As people have stated above, it really doesn't mention any restrictions about redeeming the $50 GC yourself. Also, it seems people have redeemed the GC themselves on other similar promotions and have always ended up receiving the $10 GC.

I honestly have no idea if I'm still a Student member... I started sharing Prime with my friend (he's the primary holder), so I have no clue if I'm eligible.

By the way if I buy 2 $50 GC's will we get more than 1 promotional credit or is it just 1 $10 credit regardless.

Can I buy the gift card and apply it to my own account and still get the $10 promo?
Last year I did the same when the offer was open to the public, not just students. Sent a gift card to my wife's email, got the credit, appled it to my account and then applied the gift card to my account.

Hope it works again.

thanks for reporting many of us in the same boat. I know the terms allow Amazon to take up to 6/30 to deliver, and it looks like they are happy to do just that!

Same. Ordered mine on the 5th I believe it was, and still waiting. Was hoping to combine this offer with the $5 off $25 offer... Guess that's not happening.

Didn't get mine today and ended up contacting them via livechat. Agent apologized for the issue and credited my account with a $10 promotional discount.

It said codes would arrive by June 30th. You might be confused on the date as the promotion only lasted until June 15th, and the promotional code expires on July 31st.

Didn't the fine print say by July 15 you'll receive the promo?
Nah, I think that was the cut off date for when you could PURCHASE the $50 gift card and get the $10 promotional credit.

Still nothing, and it's now technically the 1st in my time zone. Will have to contact them early tomorrow, as it looks like others are going to do.

Really unfortunate:/

Just a quick update for those who are still waiting on their promo codes. I just contacted Amazon Customer Service telling them that I have not yet received my $10 promo code for the Father's Day Gift Card promotion, and if someone would be kind enough to look into it for me since the deadline to receive the promo code was June 30th. I made sure to cite the time stamp of when I received the email, as well as the fact that I have an AmazonStudent Prime membership.

After reviewing my information, I was told the only explanation why I didn't receive the promo code is if someone had sent me the link to that promotion opposed to having received an email for it myself. You would think that Amazon would have a way to verify whether or not a customer has received an email with a specific promotion, but just in case I was ready to send them a screenshot of the promotional email that shows my email as the recipient. Thankfully that wasn't required, and they issued me a $10 promo code. The good news is, the new promotional code they issued me has no expiration date.

I am rather curious why some people didn't receive their $10 promo code...

Here is what I did:

I received the e-mail on June 3rd, followed the link provided by the email to the qualifying Father's Day Gift card and purchased the very first E-mail Giftcard featured on the promotional page (the one that had a bunch of colorful ties on it). My order for this E-Giftcard was placed an hour and 34 minutes after having received the promotional email from Amazon.

I waited until June 26th to redeem the $50 giftcard to my own account, not that it should make any difference when it was redeemed or to which account.

Still no code.

I was expecting the chat CSR to hook me up on the spot but all she did was verified some info and forwarded to marketing.

Not that it does any good, but I have a packet ready to go to my state's AG if this is denied.

Amazon's sterling customer service rep has taken a hit from me lately ... seems you really have to stay on them to own up to their end of the deal(s) ... the few times 'zon has deals anymore that is.
